Although of course big ears has some skin in the game, will he back up Pearson? and then actually who cares either way...

Tbf on Twitter he was pleased to see Pearson back in the game.

Most pundits have tended to say " well they have had it coming with all the continuous change of manager "

  3. I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up when motd was on.

It was like falling asleep to some decent porn and waking up to find that it had skipped on to some random weird and disturbingly dusgusting fetish sh*t.

I had to take a shower.

What Keown meant to say was it was a penalty. Just couldn't bring himself to actually agree with TD.

Just a side note on MOTD.

Last night at the end of the City v Utd highlights, they blurred out the face of the man apparently making racist gestures to the Utd player, Fred.

    Why do that?

  6. Probably some legal issue. Better to be safe than sorry.

His face is all over Twitter anyway and everyone knows who he is.

So they said the Cahill -Deeney incident was not really a penalty.
    Ridiculous.
If that was one of THEIR teams - Lesta Newcastle Arse - they would be saying it was a foul anywhere else on the pitch so shd be a penalty, where’s VAR etc.

We’re just a postscript team now mentioned in passing and as 4ever said above they nearly all think we’re getting wot we deserve due to frequent team manager changes.
Unless there’s an upset result I expect last slot every MOTD.

We get a penalty awarded against us for an accidental very light brush of someones face against Leicester, and somehow Deeney being wrestled to the ground in a headlock against Palace is NOT a penalty o_O

What planet are the ref and the match of the day pundits living on

Keown said "Cahill's fouling him there" but then said it's not really a penalty. I know footballers aren't the brightest, but if he's fouling him then it's a penalty!!

Mark Chapman is the only presenter who understands the concept of a game requiring two sides. Faultless in his balanced appraisal every time we’re involved, as he was tonight. Good stuff from Crouch also. Counting the days till MC slips quietly into jug ears’ chair.

I’ve been hoping that for years with all of the MotD2 presenters, but the BBC have to justify ‘Line Acres’ giant salary.

Yes, it was good to see some actual analysis of our game rather than chuckling about VAR decisions against us.

And he is a Red Devil too but you would never have guessed it from the presentation. Get rid of Jug Ears and bring him on more often.

The Beeb has a long and proud history of producing fine presenters from a journalistic, rather than sporting background: Carpenter, Coleman and Lynam among many others. As in other sports such as Athletics, it is now obsessed with ex-participants, many of whom are truly terrible. And that’s leaving aside its preoccupation with meeting/ exceeding diversity quotas.

I agree with most of your post, but have not seen any deterioration in quality with a more diverse group of people presenting.

Surely got to be top 3 tonight ?

Lineker likes Pearson so might get an extended interview with him.

Correct.....we are third in the running order. Even bigger news is that there were more than three games played today. The world has gone mad.....mad I tell you.

We were third again last night but due to there being 9 matches and a shorter broadcast time the whole show felt like everything was shoehorned in. For our game they discussed the movement of Sarr and Del Boy and as well as the goals the chances Sarr had in the first half. They didn't talk about Wolves or the sending off.

I guess they didn't bother as it didn't affect the result...

Had it done so sure it would have come up.

Mind you wasn't Mark Chapman presenting - he seems more peeved and bored of VAR talk than most !

We probably went from being last on MOTD to first in 45 minutes..

TBH Not sure why they bother having one as you can see all the goals on the BBC website.

I noticed on the website footage they just used the commentary from the World feed..

    Or Fulham - Villa.

I looked for a running order but couldn’t find one.

  27. Early pointless rounds on a very pointless non-sports channel.

Even the most motd loyal armchair supporter must find themselves looking in the mirror and evaluating their TV choices tonight.

The only saving grace being bigears isn't presenting it so it may be marginally entertaining.

Chappers nails it again. Funny how the highlights are edited more representatively on motd2, as well.
That, Gary old fruit, is how to analyse a game of football.

Was a good analysis today. Richards even picked out Masina as playing well. Jug ears wouldn’t even know who he is.

He was on 5live before the game so probably had no choice but to watch the game unlike the Saturday crew who probably just watch their own teams then get told about the other games.

Also doesn't a relation of Mark Chapman support us ?

I thought it interesting that they spoke a bit longer this week on about us being good rather than the opponents just playing badly.

When arguably I would say this was by far the worst I've seen a team play against us when considering the sheer number of unforced errors they made!

Another piece of blatant bias by big ears on MOTD regarding the Tyrone Mings handball stopping GD’s run on goal.

“Where’s he supposed to put his arms” says our no 1 fan, when Mings himself admitted it was deliberate by saying he would not have been surprised by a second yellow.
Mings should not have been on the pitch and being credited with AV’s 95th minute winning goal is just salt in the wound.

The sooner the BBC stops Lineker stealing a couple of £m every year from license fee holders the better.
Bring in Mark Chapman to front MOTD.
