Indeed, and supposedly Man Utd have been scouting him heavily lately as well.

See above, on the slim chance he leaves in Jan, which I think is quite unlikely, it will only be to a club firmly in the top 10 of the PL already, and much bigger clubs than us will want him.

Look at the video of him and Mane on the WFC Instagram account. Mane even points out he’s just a shy boy to Deeney. The way we have integrated him before the past few weeks was ridiculously poor.

Which is fair enough. A good argument and one I can agree with. But I think our name should be linked with players like this that’s all. We should hold an interest, that’s the argument I’m making, rather than pigeon-holing ourselves as taking what we can get.

How can you come to that judgement? Considering how poor and nervous he looked in his first couple of brief appearances for us, and how good he's looking for us now in the last few games (scuffed shot aside, but that's no different to anyone else at the club), it appears as if we've integrated him perfectly well.

It's mostly unfortunate that he's joined a team in bad form.

We could have done with him in the form he is in now sooner, but it has been little surprise it has taken such a young player from a foreign league a few months to adapt.

‘Perfectly well’ - so given he’s been our best player in recent weeks (mainly), you’ve honestly not once wondered why he was sat on the bench week after week? He’s a young lad in a new country and who ultimately I’d think has wanted to just play football to adapt. Obviously it’s just my opinion against yours - but ‘Perfectly’ well is stretching it, even if you think I went too far with my original point.

Doucoure was our player of the season two seasons ago and not too shoddy either for the majority of last season. So why not coach him back to form then rather than casting around unnecessarily for a replacement?

One thing I didn't mention earlier. Please, please put Hughes on free-kick and corners delivery. That was much better than Del Boy's and Holebas' efforts towards the end today.

It is silly though. He joined us before the season had started, it’s not even comparable. Why would a young lad leave a team who have a much higher probability of being in the PL next season than us?

I don’t think a single one of our players deserves anything but praise from today, and I say that based on effort and general play. It’s frustrating how poor we are in front of goal, but that aside, that was a very good performance all round.

He'd been poor not that long before. Perhaps those extra few weeks out of the limelight while getting his fitness and confidence up, and getting more acclimatised, were exactly what he needed in order to be able to perform at the level he's at now - as opposed to being repeatedly thrown in while he's still not ready and potentially getting demoralised.

I'm sorry to bring this up here, but it was so out of the blue what Nath said in the Shout Box. I've never laughed so much. Think it was
when Klopp was arguing with the 4th assistant second half.

This. The frustrating thing is we had enough chances to pull off the shock of the season.

Also.. Ismaila Sarr will be one of the best players in the world in the right hands. If we go down, he'll leave and go on to win everything.

It will come. We just need one piece of luck in front of goal.
As I said I don't mind losing if we have a go. The pride and passion shown today was exactly what was needed. Proud of all of them today.
We miss hit a chance and its scooped clear, they miss hit a shot goes straight to one of theirs and he slots it home. Typical bottom of the table luck.

On another note, if we go down, I hope we keep Pearson. I honestly believe already that we bounce straight back up. I think he would get our players much fitter in pre season than in previous seasons. I think we would keep most of the squad we have as well.

However, I don’t think we are going down.

Surely playing him fleetingly, and horrendously out of position would answer why he looked so poor early on. QSF had him playing inside, and using Wolves as an example, it was clear that he’d been instructed to play toward the middle of the field, into traffic, rather than his natural position out wide.

I’d argue that he’d clearly been demoralized in his early performances, playing in a struggling team and being asked to fulfill a role he’s not suited for.

Unless we were doing unbelievable work in training with him to build his confidence, it seems pretty clear that we horrendously mismanaged the start of his season. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he’s looked really good playing in his natural position, in a team that’s far more offensively minded.

Typical. Most results went our way again today. Last week was the same. Had we won that Pen and scored it vs Palarse and taken our chances today, we would be sat in a much better place.

I know its all ifs and buts, we make our own luck etc. But, had we done the basics of goal scoring... same every week

I do feel Pearson is the man to take us forward, but today proved we can play as a cohesive unit.
