Was an escape room last year. I had to have 5 mins chill out time apart from the rest of the group when they all started arguing. This year we're clay pigeon shooting. I may well appear on the news later today.
Sounds like a bit of fun and different to the normal Christmas do of going out, getting drunk and telling that person in accounts you've never liked that he's absolute an helmet and then finding out he's married to the daughter of the MD so you end up plying him with drink in the hope he forgets what you've said but it turns out he could out drink Andre the Giant and it ends up costing you a fortune and probably your job. Or is that just me?
We went to the ski centre in Hemel on Tuesday, I never skied before so it was a bit of a chore. We also had food there, and it was rank.
Well they've cancelled secret santa after last year's fiasco. The Thai lady in accounts got a box of three ping pong balls. Strange there was only two of us ******* ourselves laughing.
PC gone mad. What’s the world coming to when you can’t casually imply a woman is a sex worker based on her ethnicity?
I’m going on my fiancé’s do tonight, it’s become a great tradition that I make a thorough *** out of myself in front of a dozen primary school teachers and their partners. The first time I met them all at one of these a few years ago, not long after we’d met actually, I had to be ushered away from her boss for talking utter drunken ***** at her. Apparently I fist bumped her, I have no recollection but it seems I was quite embarrassing. This is the problem when you have to get drunk before social events in order to enjoy them.
It’s at a brewery a five minute walk from our house this year. I don’t stand a chance, feels like it could be really disastrous.
Best: Manager (whose husband ran his own travel agents) took the entire lab (12 of us - no partners) to a gästhaus in Innsbruck for a long weekend (Thurs - Sun) for 'training'. Worst: Manager who decreed that the event would be held in the lab's main meeting room - with everyone bringing a 'dish' - for a 'fun' evening of party games. A lab that everyone drove at least 35 km to and was literally in the middle of nowhere (Butterfield Park on the edge of Scumton).
Pissed as a coconut but I’m quite satisfied that I didn’t make a **** out myself. Her best mate from work as an utter **** for a boyfriend though, not up for keeping the party going. Constant arm around the shoulder ****. Much love x
Do you watch South Park? I'd recommend you watch the latest episode 'Christmas Snow' on a similar theme.
Any whole staff gathering stinks of enforced jollity which inevitably means no jollity with added drunken bitching and tears. So there hasn't been a staff Xmas do for years, which is great. Secret Santa also died out last year with only 10 of 120 participating. Having a Christmas meal next week with a few others, ie. those of us who actually want to be in each others' company. No partners are allowed which means they're not bored and you're not stuck making polite conversation sitting next to someone you don't know when you'd rather have a laugh with your workmates. Sorted.
Cool. Only thing it's worth knowing in advance of watching that episode (not a spoiler), is that Stan's dad Randy as of the last couple of seasons runs a cannabis farm called Tegridy Farms.
There's been loads of him in the last couple of seasons, so it might then be worth it to start watching again from season 22, which also builds nicely in to the season which has just finished (season 23), which has had some cracking episodes.
Survived, no rampage. I've discovered I'm actually pretty good. Browsing used guns now. This could get expensive.
Very good local gun shop with an extensive range of 2nd hand shooters lots of advice: https://gunshot.co.uk/ One of the better grounds with a large shop with quite a good selection of 2nd hand shooters (also good for lessons) often do very competitive deals on new guns with lessons & gear: https://www.agl-uk.com/shooting-ground The internet gunshop: https://www.guntrader.uk/ Good private sales (and wabbitbosher who's a legend) here: https://www.gunwatch.co.uk/guns FWIW I used to go a couple of haybailers (informal clayshoots run on farms) and I still have the first gun I ever bought (for £125) a 12G O/U Baikal (the gun equivalent of a Lada) it hits (and misses) the same amount of clays as a £6.5K Beretta Silver Pigeon. So does my 12G Hastan escort Luxano (£275) and my son's Armsan A620 (£350) - both Turkish guns loathed by the 'cognoscenti'.
Save your money you can pick up some decent custom built and fitted modern shotguns starting from around £30K... There used to be a place in Shenley/Colney (near the training ground). FWIW I've heard rumours that it takes at least 6 months to get your ticket (SGC). It might be worth starting that process now (the last part of the process is a f2f interview with the plod where you will be asked the whys, wherefores and what experience you have...). Also join pigeonwatch as I think after so many posts (or length of membership) you can access there members sales fora where you pick up some very good deals on ammo and gear - also the fora are very forgiving to newbies and will usually answer all questions. EDIT: I also forgot my local: the A1 shooting ground. It's OK but I've always preferred AGL/Broomhills - also they didn't use to sell guns.
1992 office Christmas Party in a well known financial services had a quiz, where everyone had to guess the owner of photocopied backsides and boobs stuck around the wall. Does that sort of thing happen these days?
Best work do I went to was "back in the day" (2000 to be precise) when I was in my twenties and had no kids or real responsibilities. It was so over the top that it actually made the national press and still features occasionally in lists of top ten most excessive work parties. I'm sure the likes of Moose and Clive would say that it represented the worst of capitalism, etc etc but I have to admit that it was a great night.
