I’ve read about five posts now that contain them reason why last season was a fluke is’ and none of they all talk about our ageing squad and poor recruitment but none them really explains why people are claiming last season was a fluke.
[THREAD DRIFT] The youngest and I are re-watching the, frankly, amazing 'Adventure Time' (again). We've just watched their first tribute to, the great animator, James Baxter who's portrayed as... [/THREAD DRIFT]
I'm on the fence here being a fair weather Hornet/Chicken. On one side are the extreme pesemists, who believe the end of the world is about to occur, on the other side, the quiet positive side, the old guard WFC fans roam. It's only a game etc etc, but many mistakes are there, obvious to be seen by any football fan. Laughing stock? I hope we will avoid
Aren’t you pleasant? I’m not Italian or “foreign” so I’m not making myself a victim sir but I don’t see many wonderful “British” owners out there that would do a better job? Is that what we want. Would the Pozzo’s be doing a better job if they were British? I do not see the relevance of the Pozzo’s nationality when it comes to discussing the job they’re doing. If that makes me a victim in your eyes then so be it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I won't praise this owner again until Giraldi is gone from the club. The living stealer sat there tonight shaking his head. He's as culpable as anyone else to our situation. Only problem is that he's sitting with his boss probably sticking the knife in to all and sundry. What does the **** do again?
And has the inside knowledge on the Pozzos -so safe unless unfortunate accident ?-probably Duxbury to go-he appointed QSF "didn't he"
Maybe. I thought Duxbury was in charge of off-pitch projects? In which case, not sure he's done anything wrong.
Gino can't sack himself and won't/can't sack Giraldi so someone has to carry the can I mean Gino is the owner-he is not even a director of the club nor the parent company Hornets Investments so day to day decisions of everything must all be Duxbury who is the chairman and indeed made the joint statement after the Cup Final saying 2019/20 would be vibrant and bright as they looked to improve on 2018/9
Do you have a collection of football medals at home ? Have you climbed Everest ? Made an important scientific discovery ? Perhaps painted a great piece of art or composed a symphony the most complex form of music ever devised. Maybe written a novel with multiple allegories. You need to do some growing up. Labelling other people losers for actually promoting arguments which have more than a semblance of logic is the default position of someone who is narrow minded. There is more to life than football.
Under the hapless Pozzos the club lurch from one mess to another. record club loss Earliest change of managers (twice) in the PL Yet still the happy clappers clap along supporting them. The club is a laughing stock under their stewardship. There useful time at the club has come to a very humiliating end. OUT
I’m still disgusted Elton John wasn’t forced out when we got relegated from the top flight the first time.
Totally agree ! I heard a rumour that getting us from the fourth to the first division was just a fluke anyway
"and with nearly two-thirds of the season remaining, we will provide all the support necessary to make the coming months successful." What does that even mean, and why haven't they bothered providing all the support necessary for the first-third?!
What’s really starting to irk me is some of the decision making from supposed “football people” - Not properly recruiting centre backs - Prodl’s new deal - Offering Britos a new deal - Andre Gray - Rehiring QSF - Letting him take charge of the most important game of the season after losing at Burnley - Spending £40 mill on a player the manager didn’t want - Welbeck? All the historical data point towards him being injury prone, lo & behold injured in five minutes never seen again - Navarro? Why? Folquier? Why? - Penaranda on loan after scoring a good goal? Why? - Success wtf happened? So many questions, they have done some great great things but when you see people like Lys Mousset being identified by Sheff United and coached into a goal scorer it does make you wonder if The Pozzo’s are at all much better than just normal good owners. What happened to the Alexis Sanchez dream? Richarlison scored like 6 goals and ****ed off and that’s it. Will forever be grateful for promotion but they have to start being more transparent and show better decision making now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't you dare criticise them. They built us a new stand and bought the club from a former dentist against his will.
The Mousset point is a good one. A player who has drastically improved under good coaching and playing a system that plays to his strengths. Who was the last player to improve while playing for Watford? l also want to know why Moose didn't try and persuade, his presumably distant, relative to sign for us?
Not just him. Maupay has shown more than Gray for Brighton. Mings a revelation and has doubled his transfer fee of £20 million to about £40 million in about six weeks. Isn’t that the kind of transfer The Pozzo’s should specialise in? Adam Webster would be our best defender. Okay £20 million is a gamble but it’s needed. Fabian Schar is excellent and cost Newcastle THREE million pounds. He’d be our best defender by far! Steve Cook, Basham, Ben Mee, Tarkowski, Dunk, Duffy why are all these players capable of defending even after playing in League 1 not so long ago and yet the great Pozzo system can’t find one? I never expected big money spent but I was really looking forward to us showing nous and intelligence in the transfer market and being the envy of those around us, it’s never quite materialised. If João Pedro doesn’t hit the ground running I will start to have serious concerns about whether this scouting network is all that special or just a stingy bargain hunting front. Absolutely nothing wrong with criticising our owners. I guess the question is does this be default mean they should sell up? Many fans turn on their owners after a couple of poor seasons when the owners can be held liable. Some here are doing it after 14 league games of our first poor top flight season with them. And the reason people talk about building a stand for instance, is that is shows they are not (in my opinion) rotten to the core. Sure, get new owners in. But at some point they will have a bad run of form and make some bad decisions and then we will need to get rid of them too.
https://trainingground.guru/staff-profiles/watford-staff-profiles In truth no one knows but he did the due diligence on us for Pozzos and got a promotion once in PL so he looks to be Ginos right hand man As they appear to be inextricably linked together, mistakes made by Giraldi are a reflection on Gino so the head coach carries the can-its up to him to train/motivate/select/sub/set tactics etc so if we fail then its not about recruitment of the players who are best we can get and afford.
