"Replacing Janmaat at 2-0 down on Saturday..." Does anyone know what he meant when he said "Janmaat wasn't deeper any more". Is that like saying "we were 2-0 down and one of the wing backs wanted to attack, so I had to put a stop to it?

I took it to mean Janmaat wasn’t getting as ‘deep’ into the Chelsea half as he had been, so he brought on some fresh legs. Using a back three system usually relies on wing-backs providing attacking width, so the substitution made some kind of sense if you’re sticking with that system. However, like most, I would have preferred we tried a change of shape for the last few minutes and brought on an extra attacker - even if it was Success.

I saw Norwich play Third Division matches against Accrington and Newport (less impressive now they're both back in the League) and also saw them knock Bayern Munich out of the UEFA Cup, so me and the Canaries go back a long way.

I subsequently supported Cambridge Utd into the League for the first time and still look for their results, then Gillingham (don't care about them) and Chelsea (actively hostile since Abramovitch took over) before fetching up in Snorbens in GT's first season.

I think that having survived Bassett, Vialli, Quique (oh) and Mazza, I'm more balsa wood than plastic.

Pressure on them creates mistakes. Nothing happens in isolation. However, the fact that we've not been able to replicate that much since, is worrying.

Sheffield United. It seems there a few that think we should have gone at them because it was Sheffield United. They are 6th in the Premier League and have conceded the least amount of goals out of everybody. They thumped Burnley last week, something that very few teams do, they beat Arsenal, bar a goalkeeping howler they would have got something against Liverpool, they are unbeaten away from home. Of the 3 chances, one was their fault but Welbeck beat their defender with a lovely bit of skill and we had Dawson's header. If you include the chance they gave us it was 3 clear cut chances to 0 and you will win more than you will lose with stats like that. I think we need to move away from it's Sheffield United so we should have gone at them. Before that game we had conceded 20 goals in 7 games! We have conceded 3 in 4 since changing the formation. I don't like the way we play, I would love to see more of what we did against Arsenal and less of what we saw against Sheffield Utd but we had to sort an issue that basically gave us no chance of winning games. You maybe right that Quique can't change the way he does things but there was a change vs Chelsea in that we started pressing more. That maybe down to the players deciding to do it off their own backs but it's more likely it came from QSF who saw we weren't in the game. I hope that we continue to press as we look far better doing that rather than all sitting behind the ball.
Your part about a new coach coming in would go for the the throat against a newly promoted side would be correct if there were 8 games to go and we were 6 points from safety. But we had 30+ games to go so it's about sorting out problems that are stopping you from gaining points. You have to start somewhere and it was obvious what the biggest problem was. Now, we have 3 games coming up which are massive to if we stay up or not but I still don't think we should, or will go at them like a bull in a china shop. It's not as if we have any goalscorers in the team

Wing-backs are part of the attack as well as the defence. It is a strenuous job. If he felt Janmaat was flagging it makes some sense to replace him with a quicker-running wing-back to try to pressure a hopefully tiring Chelsea back. There were other things he could have done, yes; but he had to make a decision and he did so. It might well be a vote of no-confidence in the others on the bench, of course. No confidence in Success? Who'd have thought.

Well, maybe. But this is a classic mid-week, desperate-for-a-topic piece of journalism, complete with carefully chosen photos showing anxiety, despair and so on. The photo of Delefeu was when he thought he'd been denied a penalty. Watford owner watching the situation closely when we are rock bottom of the league - no sh*t, Sherlock.

For me, it isn't about whether we should have attacked Sheffield United more, it is about how their management team are getting far more out of their players than ours are.

I don't think there are many people that would think that their squad of players have more technical ability, more experience, should have more fitness, than ours do. The difference is all about attitude on and off the pitch.

Our club seems to buy players that lack the ability to motivate themselves, and seem to bring in coaching teams that lack the ability to motivate them. I read somewhere that one thread of player recruitment is that we look for players that have "lost their way" after showing great promise and/or ability. I think that it is obvious why these players have lost their way in the past, they just don't have the mental strength to cope with the ups and downs of football, alongside the security of having £60,000 pw being paid into their bank account every week. If we bring those players in, then we have to have the right people to work with them.

We currently have a massive bunch of "losers" with a "losers" attitude.

And then the younger, potentially hungrier players, are barely given a chance. I'm not intending to pick on individual players, but would any of our U23 forwards do less on the pitch than one or two of our first team "strikers"? Give one or two of them a little run in the team, it can't do harm, but do wonders, particularly in sending strong messages to the more "experienced" players.

I'm fed up with watching our head coaches standing on the touchline with their hands in their pockets, only removing them to scratch their heads wondering which player they should replace with another out of form player, and then listening to our head coaches giving drab, nuanced post match emotionless interviews (where I can barely understand what they are saying, as they demonstrate such a lack of animation).

Where is the emotion, where are the guts, where is the passion?

The entire club needs a ****ing rocket up its ****ing arse.

Yes under-achieving due to poor attitude and lack of confidence. Pretty much the same squad was over-achieving at 7th in March. We should be about 5th or 6th bottom.

The problem is the state of the squad as well as the manager. Poor recruitment has seen us get into this position with us crying out for decent defenders and strikers since we were promoted.

Oh Lord, I see QSF is referring to this one as a 'final' - does he mean cup final, or his final game in charge?

QSF giving it the big 'final' build up. Can see Norwich grinding out a 1-0 win here and many randoms commenting how the match is a disgrace to the Premier League, the so called 'best league in the world'. Also watch out for comments like, 'this is Championship standard at best', 'these two will be playing each other again next season' etc etc

I think hb1 said somewhere that three head coaches/ managers in a season would set a precedent in the PL. It wouldn't. Fulham did it just last season. And we of course did four in a little over a month in the Championship.

I think the next 3 games will give us a better idea on if he was the right choice. Arsenal, Man City and Wolves away, Sheff Utd, Spurs away, Bournemouth and Chelsea is a difficult run of games with only two games would you have hoped realistically for more and actually you could say draws vs Arsenal and Spurs are better than we could have hoped for

Have to agree. They have made easily avoidable rookie mistakes this season. Anyone can make a big error of judgement, but this season has been catalogue of them which has really surprised me.

The word on the wire (press association) is that QSF is going regardless of result tonight. However if he does win tonight, I can't see them sacking him in all honestly. But time will tell if the press leaks are true or not.

This is easy to say and in principle I agree with you, but I think most coaches would argue that these untried players would not be up to the intensity of the Premier League. I have no idea whether this is true or do they just think failing with an inexperienced striker looks worse than failing with an established one?

Just clutching at straws the same as everybody else. I do think we will improve with Deeney back though as the formation is built to his strengths of holding the ball up, bringing others into play, headed flick ons etc, its what we were trying to do with Gray but obviously Gray isnt a target man.

He needs to be sent packing whatever happens tonight. Even if we somehow manage to get six points from Norwich and Burnley, his nullifying deployment of the players available is never going to be enough to get us out of trouble over the course of the season.

Bringing him back is the stupidest decision Gino will ever make. Our attack was at least as culpable as the defence for our poor run under Gracia. Our defeats early this season would have been completely different games if we hadn't missed bread and butter chances before getting punished.

We're further away from being competitive now than we were when Javi was sacked. Much further.

Yep, writing is on the wall, we've all seen in the past that once the media gets a sniff of something going wrong at the club for a Head Coach they're usually sacked soon after . It's clear in his comments as well that he knows he's a dead man walking.

Eyes peeled for managers in the crowd tonight.

Odds on Flores being sacked have shortened significantly today. 6-1 and 7-1. All at sixes and sevens, which is reflective of our defending this season.

I knew we should of kept Billy McKinley. We are so far unbeaten with him as manager. Still, can't really complain on how well Joka eventually got us playing after a difficult start under his tenure. God... that night at Fulham, what a spanking we handed them, Charlton too. GT once said nothing wrong in being a "yo yo club", a agree to an extent, but eventually some sort of stability needs to be found. We need to somehow retain it.

Foster interviewed on Sky singing Quique’s praises. Says he’s a positive presence around the place and ‘exactly what we need right now’. Even if he’s towing the party line, I’d be surprised if there’s any real training ground/dressing room strife like the Daily Mail suggested.

Pleased for Quique tonight. I've not agreed with everything he's done since he's come back but no one can doubt he's made us harder to beat! Now with Deeney, Sarr & Capoue (was immense tonight) back it bolsters our options massively!

He deserved that tonight, I think some of the stick he's received has been, frankly, disgraceful.
