Good. Hopefully means they feck off from here then.

    Exactly this.

It cannot be acceptable to just let the players do a few laps and a few five a side games and hope that is enough. They have technology and data on their side. There is no way we should have been coming into this season looking half as fit as last. It's utterly unforgivable.

Having seen the Sarr fitness video in the week it seemed they are hoping around on one leg or star jumps !

Stolen from Twitter but this is truly some abysmal ****:

Quique Sanchez Flores' last 20 #PremierLeague games with #WatfordFC over 2 spells...

    Points 13 (0.65/game)
    Won 2
    Drawn 7
    Lost 11
    Scored 15 (0.75/game)
    Conceded 39 (1.95/game)

Watford are not great, but we are a lot better than that stat shows.

Unfortunately we succumb to these dreadful slumps and every manager we've had has suffered from this, but now we're in a monumental drop in form that's becoming something a bit more permanent.

Flores should never have come back. It's just been a catalogue of mistakes from the hierarchy this summer which has carried over into the season and the Flores appointment was just one of a number of bad decisions the club have made.

I cannot see how the Flores approach would ever see us winning the amount of games we need in order to survive.

Well obviously they wouldn't as they want to be managers and not head coaches. I suppose the point was - get in a hungry young manager rather than another international journeyman

I'm not convinced QSF will turn our form around, and boos and chants of "you don't know what you're doing" on Saturday, was very damaging.

I think his time with us is going to be very short, maybe even gone if we lose at Norwich, but you have to ask the serious question, who would come to a club rooted at the bottom of the Premier League? Of course there will be plenty of journeymen applications if we have another vacancy soon, but we need a quality coach who will really get us going again. No one of any reputation would risk coming to Watford, especially if we get rid of Flores after such a recent appointment.

We'd have to unenviable record of being the only club to have sacked the first and second manager of a Premier League campaign. That attracts no one of any repute.

With that in mind I think we'd have to keep him as we are unlikely to do any better right now. We're not building the club though, it's another sticking plaster situation, bailing water out with a bucket, instead of buying a new boat. By now in our fifth season, we should be building the club rather than acting like we're a struggling newly promoted club.

This is the biggest issue. If QSF fails to get enough points over the next 3 games who would come to us. It can only be somebody out of work or a manager in lower leagues not doing much so there will not be much to choose from. I don’t think there will be a change this month.
For me we have found a defensive outlook that makes us hard to beat against teams outside the top 3 or 4 which is fine as needed to find some defensive stability but now we need to find a system that allows the talent we have, and we do have some, to do their thing and start scoring some goals.
Not sure on the fitness of some but we need to play 4-2-3-1.
    Foster
    Janmaat Cathcart Kabasele Masina
    Quina Capoue
    Delefeou Doucoure Pereyra
    Deeney or Success
The front 4 need to press with Quina just behind but not pressing too much.
It will still leave us ok at the back but when going forward we would have those four attacking plus an option of the full backs getting forward as well. Both full backs don’t go at the same time and still leaves us with Capoue and the three other defenders to cope with the opposition. Not as tight as recently but we need to gamble a little now

Our next 3 games will ultimately define our season. If we are still in the relegation paces after these games we are absolutely destined for the championship. I've always been a believer that effort, desire & determination trumps flair & technique. This team has a lot of quality players no doubt abut it but give me a John Eustace or Jay Demerit any day of the week.

I feel we have become a victim of the Premier League hype and we have just followed the crowd in the way we play, the players we buy. Sheffield United are a pure example of what can work well with the right management. There is no need to have billions in the bank, but as long as you bring in the right players that fit the outlook of the club and have the right attitude you will looking up the table, rather than down and be on the path of progression.

To be fair to QSF, who do we put up top? We only have one fit striker who can't play up top on his own. Hopefully we see Success on Friday.

The next five games are the best-looking run we've had this season. If we don't get some wins out of these (minimum two, plus a draw or two?) I think the last ounce of hope I have for our survival will be gone. Certainly possible but I'm not sure it's probable... If Quique can't deliver through this period I would think he'd be on thin ice and rightly so.

    Norwich away
    Burnley home
    Southampton away
    Leicester away
    Palace home
International break after Norwich to hopefully allow some players to recover from injuries.

In an ideal world I'd agree, but I just shudder at the thought of going to a back four given how fragile we were at the back playing that way.

I'm just not sure our CB's are collectively good enough to play as a two, and doing so may expose those weaknesses again...it's noticeable that Kabasele/Cathcart/Dawson have looked considerably better and much more solid in a three man CB set up.

If all signs pointed toward a man wanting to kick you in the nuts, would you get naked, lay down prone and watch his foot as the swing came in, just in case by some miracle all disaster was averted.

Or would you just tell the horrible sh*tmuncher to f*ck off?

We really need to see what impact Flores has had since his arrival.

Watford were in a pretty desperate state, that much is clearly true, but the players we have are able to play to a level that should maintain Premier League status. They've proved that over the years. I think we've sailed close the line on occasions, but we're clearly much better than 5 points from 11 games.

His matches to date are thus:-

    Arsenal (h ) 2-2
    Manchester City (a ) 0-8
    Wolverhampton Wanders (a ) 0-2
    Sheffield United (h ) 0-0
    Tottenham Hotspur (a ) 1-1
    Bournemouth (h ) 0-0
    Chelsea (h ) 1-2

    P 7 W 0 D 4 L 3 F 4 A 15 Pts 4

I think he's been quite na*ve, certainly his tactics for City and Wolves were wrong, and then he switched it for the most winnable match against Sheff Utd to ultra defensive. For me, he got that completely the wrong way around. It didn't make much sense.

You can allow him a few matches for bedding in, and we did play well at Spurs. Apart from that, only the second half comeback against Arsenal is anything to be proud of in terms of performances.

We have tightened up defensively, but that's mainly down to putting extra bodies in defensive positions. We carry a much smaller attacking threat now, so we have to be ultra clinical in order to take advantage of the few chances we create.

The two performances against Everton and Chelsea were worrying. There has been a drop off in performance levels. Ok, Everton was a cup and the team was changed around a bit, so maybe that's unfair to a degree, but the trend is similar. Against Chelsea, it was only down to a brilliant Foster performance which kept the score respectable. Even though we had 5 at the back, we were still shambolic.

This is why I think he's only really got the Norwich game to get it right. He must win that one, if we lose, then his grind out a 0-0 method will not be enough to catch up with the pack.

Even though it will look a bit crazy to the outside world if we sack another manager, I think Gino will do it, as Flores would not have had the desired impact on the team if we lose to Norwich.

It's a pivotal game in many ways. Win and there is something to build on and optimism could start to return, draw and it still looks pretty bleak, but a loss to a side one place above us, would probably be fatal to the club. Only a major shake-up could save us then, and that normally means a new coach.

They've made it quite clear in the past they don't care how it looks to the outside world. Our managerial turnover is a stick to beat us with in the press but up to now it has worked terrifically well.

My view is it would be wrong to sack QSF but if we lose on Friday I think he will be gone. The squad is the problem and getting to January and still being in touch is the aim so that reinforcements can be brought in. Some attacking threat and a bit of midfield steel would work wonders.

I wish we could all stop using the word 'manager'. The whole point about our model is that he isn't a 'manager' but simply a head coach.

That isn't just semantics. There's a real distinction.

At Florrie's first coming, if I remember right, there was some vigorous and probably acrimonious debate between those who wanted him gone and those who didn't, and I was attacked as disrespectful for my abbreviation of his name.

This time, he seems to have very little support and my disrespect seems to be shared by others.
