I'm fairly sure one of them is trolling which begs the question, what is the point of trolling? Do people get a kick out of it? Is it a young persons thing? I honestly don't get it

How many owners do get everything right? Even the billionaire owners of Chelsea and Man City across the years have missed out on what they wanted for a time.

Not necessarily a young persons thing. More a thing a person seems to do when they've not got the confidence (or intelligence) to engage in everyday life on a level which would leave them happy or, at worst, content. Pent up frustration means they lash out at something they have no control over whatsoever as it becomes the main focus of blame as to why their life is seemingly failing or in a rut. It acts as a distraction to actually taking responsibility for your self and the perceived or real situation.
Or they do it through sheer boredom but that tends to blow out pretty quick.

Either way it makes for excruciatingly boorish behaviour and dull reading.

    That's my guess anyway.

Probably more a young person's thing but not exclusively. It certainly exhibits an inadequacy of some sort though. Which is entirely boorish for the rest of us as The Recluse has pointed out.

Maybe the answer is to drive them off with 'analytical psychology'!

I pray they can find a buyer and get out of our club.

I am forever grateful for their work in the early years of their tenure, but it's been sour for me, for some time now.

Their priorities are not to make our club as successful as it can be, but to use it as a staging post for their global footballer trafficking operation.

Other clubs make bad signings, but they are always due to a mistake of judgement, rather than because the owners wanted to sign a player for reasons other than improving their team. We are the only side whose owners sign players not intended to play for us, who often end up doing so.

I’m happy for them to continue in the Championship despite recent incompetence. They have enough credit in the bank. If they aren’t interested after such a setback then best a sale is completed as soon as possible. It’s in their hands.

Things are obviously not great now, far from it.

But I expect anyone outside of the prem and top half of EFL would bite their hands off to have the Pozzo’s as owners.

who would you want as our owners? Realistically? Unless some massive Russian or Saudi Arabian person comes in and chucks billions at us what do you think we will get?

Clearly they’ve made a big mistake in not improving our squad this year in key areas, but does that mean we need a whole new ownership?!?

i know you will slap me down for thinking we are little old Watford, but I think they are committed to making us a success in the long term.

i guess we all have our different views.

Becareful though, some owners are bad news. Look at Bury and Bolton. We have been on the verge of administration once, and IF wd do get a change at the top, lets hope the candidates are properly screened.

I think nearly everyone at the club made a big mistake this summer, but I think the pozzos care enough and have certainly put in enough in terms of effort, drive and of course money to be credited with the opportunity to make it right. I pretty much just missed out on the Elton John era, so for me these are the best owners I’ve known us have.

It’s the recruitment startegy that I hate I always have. The lukebakio sage was the icing on the cake for me. How could they have thought selling him for £20 million then going out and buying the same style player, who I believe isn’t as good and was playing in an inferior league, for double the price??? Not to mention the treatment of Bachman and the not signing players to improve the team but because they are a ‘good deal’ and turn a profit.

What’s the treatment of Bachmann though? A classic third choice PL goalkeeper who made 0 appearances for Stoke in 3 years before signing for us and making 0 appearances in the next 2 years. I’d be worried if he ever made his debut - mainly because it’d break the pattern of his career to date.

He has a good loan spell and deserved either to be number 2 or sorted with another spell. The contract extension of Gomes as number 2 was absurd behaviour by the club considering we already have a veteran number 1.

The development plan for Dahlberg is even more odd than the Bachman situation in my view.

  27. UEA_Hornet

    UEA_Hornet First Team Captain

Gomes extension was ludicrous and Dahlberg I’ll grant you. But Bachmann is here because he qualifies as home grown and all PL teams seem to keep a 3rd choice GK on the books. If he wants to be an actual footballer I suppose he knows where the door is.

Seems to me like they don't know what to do when they finally have money. They got us promoted without spending lots, primarily by sending us players already on their books. They then kept us up with some very shrewd purchases as they knew they couldn't compete with other Premier League teams' budgets.

The irony is that after we'd reaped the TV money benefits from being in the Premier League for four seasons, they decided to waste all summer doubling their transfer record on a Watford galactico who looks **** scared every time he goes on the pitch, and an ex England international crock.

These two signings are so far away from their blueprint of penny pinching, lower risk signings you can't help wondering if they just didn't know what to do with the money. They spent about three times on Sarr what they did on Deulofeu, who the **** decided that was good value for money? And yes, I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to point out he's young/can't speak English/in a new league/was at the Afcon champs but the simple fact is we have blown our entire transfer budget on a guy who, after almost a third of a desperate season, has given us 167 minutes of rabbit-in-the-headlights football. Our other exciting signing hadn't started a game for almost a year, managed 210 minutes for us and now we probably won't see him again for the rest of the season. On the flip side, at least our bargain basement centre back is playing better and we have an 18 year old Brazilian coming in January to save our season...

I could never turn on the owners. My club, our club, was heading for football obscurity before they bought the club.

They've turned us around, FA Cup final, semi finals, major improvement in the stadium and until this season a steady improvement year on year.

Not sure why it's gone quite so wrong this season. It's like someone else has made the big decisions this year and has basically got everyone of them wrong.

Ridiculous overspend on a player who is nowhere near Premier League level. A failure to identify how badly our defence needed upgrading. Re-appointment of a failed coach.

You still have to give them credit for holding on to star players and the signing of Welbeck, even though he's a crock he was well worth the punt.

We will probably get relegated this season. It would be a major surprise to me if we didn't, and you have to blame the people at the top for it...….but, they put us in the Premier League in the first place.

You have to understand, there are not a queue of wealthy Watford supporters out there. The best we can ever hope for is for a football savvy football businessman to come in and transform the club. This is exactly what we've got. I don't think we could ever get any better.

If we do go down, I'd back the Pozzo's to have us promoted within 3 years again. Even now, even though I think we're gone this season, it wouldn't surprise me if the Pozzo's have a trick up their sleeve which will sort out the mess we're in.

How about that super rich English bloke that bought Nice in France this year. He already tested the water by buying a Swiss team I think, admitting he knew very little of the football business. Maybe he would pass the fit and proper test with money burning a hole in his pocket.

I can’t see Gino going anywhere soon he’s invested in this and is nowhere near reached his goals ( 30k stadium top 7 finish). Until then I think he will stay as then the profits on selling would be way more prosperous.

And another thing is it’s Geraldi that needs sacking and reids given his job with moog as his wing man

Gomes has been kept as some sort of foreign advisor so the likes of Pedro have a sensible head to turn to. Maybe he got in his contract to be cup goalkeeper or something. Harsh on dahlburg and Bachman and at least 1 of them should of had a loan but if these 2 old keepers broke their Crutches this season then we’d of had nobody to turn to.

Yeah, but the myth of our "football savvy" owners is being laid bare right now. Maybe, just maybe, their 'smart, unique ways' of doing things just aren't suited for our circumstances. The Premier League is very different from Serie A, especially outside the elite sides. Their wheeling and dealing is not suited to this environment and they don't seem flexible enough to adapt.
