Have seen the designs - haven't voted, but basically replied with an "it ain't broke, so don't fix it" comment. IF it has to be changed, then change it properly rather than tweak it. On that basis the only which caught my eye was 'B'
Sorry to disappoint but the Pozzos want a hornet logo to chime with our preferred nickname. As per their brief for this exercise. As has been mentioned, the Italians can rig a vote. It's already a done deal, agreed with the potential $150m+ USA conglomerate investors in our club who want an American style corporate logo to help build a USA fan base. It's the Canadian moose that prevented the investment last year. Pre season next year in America. B it is then..
I like b and c. Wouldn't be too upset with them. If we had that now and the club were changing to a moose there'd be uproar.
Agree with the idea of putting the hornet from E on to D (or as I suggested previously just removing the overly-complicated 'W' bit from E and then making the hornet bigger). B is along the lines of what I'd initially envisaged when reading about the redesign, I wouldn't mind it. It wasn't even on the original shortlist, was it? If so, it suggests the club have just planted it there now themselves and will go with it.
They're all pretty much rubbish. Maybe that's the plan to answer a question no one was asking before some bright spark decided it should be raised. Reminds me of...
Frightening to think about any of these designs on a shirt for the next 15 years. Very little in these that looks like it will stand the test of time. I can't help but wonder if the short voting window - Friday midday to Monday midday!? - is because they are rigging the vote or know these aren't right. Also a question of whether they will do further design work on them. For example, A would probably benefit from a non-italicised font. Regardless, I think the best option would be a lightly modernized version of our current badge, retaining the hart but with some adjustments. Not heard any mention of that, though.
The current badge with a better hart and perhaps a small hornet at the bottom would do the job in my view.
do you think? It’s pretty obvious that corporately and in terms of the America and Asian markets that it will potentially bring in millions. In shirt sales alone. English football is a brand. An aggressive hornet will sell as will lucky colour red. It’s a no brainer. Anyone else noticing the influx of foreigners at games recently? the comments about factions supporting different logos also supports this theory, of it buys 2 decent defenders and keeps us up I’ll not mourn moosey
B is the worst of a bad bunch to my eyes. Is it just me or is it one of those ambiguous images that also depicts a chicken throwing up out of the circular border? If we must change then keep the current design but replace the hart with a hornet, just not the cartoon hornet in D. COYHartHorns!
Found a link to all the submitted badges: https://www.talenthouse.com/i/design-the-new-official-badge-for-watford-football-club/submissions Obviously mainly dross but a few good ones that have slipped through, many of which fit the fan's criteria of simply swapping the moose for a Hornet. This for example would be much more preferable to some of the other finalists... https://www.talenthouse.com/i/1632/submission/381707/32593454
I think there are about 10-20 pretty decent designs there. A lot more at the top than at the bottom, mind.
If the following isn't picked, I'm going to rip up my season ticket: https://www.talenthouse.com/i/1632/submission/381079/4cdcdf10
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but has anyone else noticed the second of the finalist (the circular badge - angry hornet) has aged 17 years since submission.
A number of these submissions are so much better than the finalists that I'm fully convinced this is a stitch-up for the club's preferred option. Compounded by the fact that option B has clearly changed since submission. WTF WFC...
I don't see any reason whatsoever to change to that. All 5 finalists were pretty uninspiring. I'd prefer to stay with what we have.
