It gets even betterer and even more awesomer than you can possbly handle...the script was originally for a (the?) FNAF movie.

The 'real' Banana Splits come back and destroy the evil imposters,

    Downsizing was pretty good.

Thought bohemian rhapsody was a bit *****. Could certainly tell Brian May was a producer.

Thought Hereditary was the best horror movie in years, actually felt quite affected by it afterwards. Makes a change from the usual jump scare fests i.e. the conjuring sequels

I was really into it until the moment the mother started climbing up the walls at which point it lost me. It is a clever and very unsettling film that deals with grief fantastically well. I did find it better than the likes of Annabelle and Insidious. [SPOILER/]

Joker blew me away. The whole audience was just transfixed.
Joaquin Phoenix take a bow. Possibly the single best piece of acting I've ever seen.

Recently watched Gerald's Game on Netflix - a surprisingly good thriller and good elements of horror.

Also watched The Ritual, also on Netflix, which I thought was fantastic. A creepier version of The Wicker Man (which I love).

Likewise, I saw "The Woman In Black" at the theatre many years ago and thought it was superb. Went the first time with friends and then returned with Mr HH in tow. I went the first time without knowing anything about it but failing to see how a play could spook you as much as it claimed - how wrong I was. Now thinking of going back to see it again with the kids.

Men in Black is better. Will Smith is hilarious although my favourite character is Frank the pug.

I was really worried about watching this after seeing this beeb review headline (I didn't read the article) and after experiencing the extremely unsatisfying 'Deadwood' movie. And I has to say that I find it a really nicely paced finale to the epic 'Breaking Bad'. Highly, highly recommended. My only criticism is that it should have had a full cinematic release not just on netflix...

I have now read the article and it's a piece of crap (the writing).

I watched El Camino on Sunday, it was hugely disappointing. I wasn't not sure what to expect, I didn't particularly want to see just another episode of Breaking Bad, which largely it wasn't. However bits of it were OK but it was a very disjointed film.

Thought El Camino was extremely disappointing. Not really sure it needed to be made if that's all it's going to be.

I have recently acquired a nitflix login from a comrade and sat down to watch El Camino the other night.

I found it very soporific. Very relaxing.

Fell asleep after about 10 mins and woke up after it ended. Ciff says it was ok she supposes and a 7 out of 10.

    Short answer is yes.

Long answer is it depends what mindset you go into it with. Do not think as of it as a Batman spin off - I do not think it is. JP is very, very good in the role, and a much better fit than the Suicide Squad guy. Very dark in places, bit of comedy sprinkled about and much better than that awful Catwoman film with Halle Berry. Def give it a go - you might love it, you might hate it. Consider it the marmite of the Batman cannon world.

On a side note, Birds of Prey looks good - so does what I have see of the Black Widow movie still shots.

Dark, moody, brilliant acting, an excellent portrayal on the power of the mind and mental health.

Not to be watched if of a nervous disposition.

No spoilers but I ended up questioning what is normal, what is fantasy. I’m not sure whether the things that happened were real or fantasy.
Some were obviously in his mind but which events were his imagination and which were ‘real’?
It keeps you guessing and up for pub discussion after the event.
    And no VAR to help!

It’s also an examination of ostracism and the human need to be loved, and how things can spiral if there is little love and ‘betrayal’ by the ones you love.
It’s simply brilliant acting by Joaquin Phoenix.
    Oscar standard.

Cheers, always though Phoenix was a great actor, especially in walk the line. Not a huge fan of the previous batman films so glad to hear it's slightly different!

I really liked it, the first 30 mins or so didn't really land with me, was mostly him laughing manically but it was enough to keep the interest for the rest of the film, which got better and better as the film went on. As others have said, it keeps you guessing and wondering after the film. Can also certainly see why people are concerned about the "incel" angle as well.

It’s a ‘prequel’ to Batman and ‘Batman’ is not mentioned in the entire film as I recall, so there is no comparison to make with other Batman films, although you do meet the young ‘Batman’ character.

Reids comments re manic laughter are relevant as the Joker character does try to be a stand up comedian but because of his ‘detached’ upbringing he does not relate to others very well and he does not understand what is funny and what makes people laugh.
    So he appears socially ‘odd’.
He feels this and it contributes to his actions, imagined and ‘real’.
It’s just excellent the way events unfold in his mind..

  33. I made the mistake of watching 'Absolutely Anything' on Prime last night. A totally unfunny mash-up of Bruce Almighty and World's End. Didn't make it to the end. Dire, even with the totally gorgeous Kate Beckinsale.

    Mortal Engines
    Nice concept
    Nice effects
    Mediocre film

Does have Agent Smith from Matrix in it.
