Yea, the acting isn't brilliant but I thought the story line was great.

I'm up to episode 6. Very enjoyable but the English accent of Butcher is probably worse than **** Van Dyke.

Just finished the Dark Crystal prequel series on Netflix.

Wasn't expecting much, but it was outstanding. The people making it really, really love the IP and it shows.

It has a surprisingly dark, graphically nasty plot for a family show.

We're up to episode 3 and I'm waiting for a stormy day so that my son and I can binge it - it looks like they've really gone to town on the complex 'grown-up' plot and the puppets are amazing.

TBTH I'm not surprised that I like it as the original film is one of my all time favourites.

Not sure how old your boy is, but the series has some pretty brutal scenes all things considered. I'd say caution strongly advised for the smaller ones.

Anyone else watching Top Boy? Enjoyed the first two seasons a few years back for their gritty realism but there were a little bit limited.

Just watching the reboot on Netflix and it's been turbo charged, much slicker. Dialogue is second to none, really puts into perspective how dreadful things like Line of Duty are when they try to write how young people actually speak.

Just started "How to Get Away with Murder" with the 13 yr old. Only two episodes in but so far so good.

Joking aside, the 13 year old and I also watched the Jesy Nelson documentary together and I do genuinely think they should show that in schools.

Youngest is off sick so we binged up to episode 8 yesterday and the show's really taken a wonderfully unsettling turn - it's good old-fashioned "...hide behind the sofa..." stuff. Each single episode has shown more wit and imagination than a entire series (or book) of "Titties and Dragons".

Episode 7 was particularly educational when the Gelfling was presented with a necklace made from "Moog bone" - it's an explanation for why parts of his body are floppy and non-rigid.

Criminal on Netflix is pretty good. It's a simple premise of watching a police interview so you don't see flashbacks or crime scene pictures.

It's a excellent setting for a piece of compelling drama. BBC R4 has been running this for years (it's now on its seventh series) - they're very, very good short dramas and I always wondered how they would work on TV (and why the Beeb didn't try to re-do them for broadcast).

Not sure if its been mentioned but just watched through series 1&2 of "Dark" on Netlfix

I suggest its better to leave in German and have english subs, rather than the US accents dubbed on. But for a Sci-Fi with a massive Time Travel element it is compelling watching after a slow start. It will mess with your head though as you try and keep up with it sometimes

Just caught up with Series 3 of "13 Reasons Why". Agree with you, Arakel, that it all comes together in the second half of the season. However, I never took to Ani, even by the end. The problem for me was I didn't think the girl playing her was a very good actress and I could never get properly past that.

    ‘Unbelievable’ on Netflix.

Best series I’ve binged in a long time. A bit harrowing at times and but an excellent take on dramatised detective based TV that set on a true story.

Yes, I found the character really unlikable. She came across as extremely manipulative and a borderline sociopath to me.

On episode 2 of "i-land" which features a group of people who wake up on a desert island not recalling who they are. Seems to be a mix of bear grylls, lost, the trueman show and hunger games. Its awful so far. Absurd dialogue, a group stuck on an island who dont get sunburn or bother looking for water and terrible terrible acting. Just terrible.

The group are wondering whats going on when they get a sign indicating they should "find your way back". An actual ******* metal sign at the end of the beach.

Typically the man eaten by a sharks turns up alive and the woman who finds a big box of medicine doesnt share it and then dives back into the sea to get a raft. Despite the monster in the sea (its a shark not a monster).

I'm so pleased that South Park's Trey and Matt decided against dropping the political stuff - last night's "Mexican Joker" was a masterpiece.

I'm only a few episodes in, but I think it's the English accent. It's too jarring, and sounds fake, although google tells me she is actually English.

I think ForzaWatford hit the nail on the head re the accent - for me, anyway. Agree, though, that the series itself was good. Is it me, though, or was it more sexually explicit than the previous series? Some of the scenes were interesting to watch alongside the 15 yr old (for some reason, I thought it was rated 15, not 18 as I now realise). The 15 yr old didn't bat an eyelid - I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing?! She did, though, draw the line at Mr HH being around while it was on and asked him to leave the room when he wondered in during a particularly "racy" scene.

Stath Lets Flats on E4 - Utterly puerile and silly, but just has me chuckling to myself over his idiocy. He's like a cross between Borat and David Brent.

And the apprentice started last night - I like the show , but always get wound up by the useless tossers they have on it, this year you have the Gezza who is so thick I’m surprised he doesn’t just stand in the corner of the room and the most irritating librarian in the world, a woman so annoying that if I was married to her I would stab holes in my ear drums so I wouldn’t have to listen to her
