You can make a case for the defence being better but that is it. Ben Watson? Jurado? They are truly awful players. Jurado went a season without a goal or an assist. Back then Capoue was also extremely lazy. Them look at the bench, Diamanti and Oulare, they’re not even championship players.

He would based on Ighalo had a good overall record for us. Welbeck has no record to speak of.

Capone wasn’t lazy. He was very good in his first season under QSF. It was under Mazzarri where he was lazy and poor, hence getting dropped and not really being in favour then or with Silva. He only re-emerged in the starting line up under Gracia.

When on that scoring run he would.

Ben Watson was a good player nearing his sell-by date. It was his energy that turned 0-2 against Blackpool into 7-2 when he first came on.

On the form he was on that season, he would have got into pretty much any side in the Premier League. He was scoring goals for fun.

who could forget the iggy chop? There was even a twitter account dedicated to it.

such a shame defenders worked out how to defend it in a matter of months and he had literally nothing else in his locker. But still, he put a few carthorses on their arses.

    halcyon times.

  9. Then he went 18 months not being able to hit the side of a barn

The CVs of the two players are not comparable

I agree with the first part but I would say hitting 40 points early and finishing 6 points clear is still a comfortable job of staying up. As soon as we beat Swansea there was little chance we would go down. If they had put in a miracle run to go above 40 you are right we were shot by then.

After the magic had gone, that miss against Mourinho's Man U when keeper and defender collided was truly shocking.

But my point is that it wasn't by design we got to 40 points then decided to lose the final 6 matches. We hit form so bad that it rendered us completely helpless. It's was good fortune we achieved a gap that the teams behind us were unable to close.

I remember Hull had a poor Palace side away, then relegated Sunderland and home and Spurs at home in their final 3 games. They lost the lot and heavily in the end, so we maintained that 6 point gap. Before that, Snake had Hull flying. It was expected Hull would win the two games prior to the Spurs match, which would have taken them to 40 points, along with us. We got lucky they also imploded, as we were just sitting ducks that season.

No, he wanted to be a defensive midfielder....but for certain not a full back!

I'm done with this homo-eroticism stuff feigned or not. Could someone more techy than me now kindly post a pic of a gorgeous young female with absolutely massive t.ts on this thread irrespective of her chances of becoming our next head coach or not.

Very true, watching the Wales Azerbaijan match last Friday when one second half shock substitution for Wales totally changed the match because of one players energy and positive play

Youtube seems to have a video of Flores first day back - anything interesting to come out of it?

I hope he at least looked happy to be back!

We were on the front of the BBC website earlier (but now can’t find at all)

Something about us having to eat humble pie over a tweet about QSF leaving first time round and some nob head pundit tweeting something derogatory about us

It's the same people that always slate us. Lineker, Sutton, Owen......actually the list is too long to write, but I have seen a couple of supportive, understanding comments on radio chat shows.

Ray Parlour has defended the owner's action.

Nice to see at least a little balance from talk sport , I imagine the ****head that does the drive time show had a field day though.

As for Lineker , he really is an annoying little man

I actually tweeted two weeks ago that he was the man we needed. ******* delighted, genuinely. He's a good coach and exactly what we need in this 'moment'. Looking at the side he kept us up with it's a god damn miracle we even beat Derby's record let alone stayed up. Loved him the first time and can't wait to see what he will bring - he's the only prem coach we've had where we didn't just get ****ed by the big boys. (By this I mean we very rarely got thrashed - although the Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea games all live long in the memory.

I remember watching the below recently and realising how good a coach he maybe was as I started looking back at that team. I think at the time we didn't appreciate the job he'd done and i'm guilty of that as much as anyone .The defence was good but jesus christ that midfield, no wonder we played that style of football.

    Iggy summed up:

Incredibly selfish, but scoring goals so we/his team mates let him off.

Incredibly selfish but then stopped scoring goals, became incredibly frustrating for both us and his teammates.

Decided to stop being selfish as he wasn’t scoring goals, but lacked the confidence/ability to even pass it 5 yards to a teammate, became even more frustrating.

Became a passenger in the team and a like playing with less than 10 men, finished as a footballer and sold to China.

QSF has lost his charm IMO. He now sides more tramp with scruffy beard recovering from alcohol addiction more than suave sophisticated and well dressed.
