I know he never takes an interest in Watford, but I’m sure even he watched the cup final.

It’s funny, but he was far more understanding of Leicester when they sacked Ranieri after his first bad run.

Out of curiosity does anyone happen to have a list (or know where to find one) of how many managers each team has had since we have been in the PL?

Seems like I'm talking to myself here...….but I had a look a while ago. I think Palace have sacked more managers than us since we've been in the Premier League. I think we're level with Southampton. We're one of the highest, but not miles out in front.

It's just shows the media dislike for Watford. It's always been there, and this stat is used continuously but Palace is never mentioned.

In fact Palace have had 11 managers since 2012. Watford have had 9. Southampton have had 6 managers in the past 3 years.

Since 2015, wonderful Leicester have had 7 managers. Since 2015 we've had 5.

Gracia came with a reputation of sticking one in the eye to all the bigger clubs. Yet in almost spectacular fashion has not. The one win v Spurs being the singular good result against the top 6. We sometimes play lovely one touch stuff and have had some resoundingly good performances and results. But don't look good at the back and the forwards look impotent. We got to the cup final which was great, but were lucky in the semi, had a favourable run and lost with a record scoreline. Gracia wasnt a snake. He was 80% what we need and 100% what we needed in the period after Silva. But that 20% missing in hindsight was always lurking to bring about his demise.

QSF is another one with 20% missing, but probably again 100% what we need now. Maybe he'll be better longer with this squad? I hope so because if we don't improve it'll be a total mess.

It was before the Spurs game. Papers were saying despite our good start that spurs would teach us a lesson. Les Taylor scored on 86 mins (I think) which was followed by the greatest celebration for a goal I’ve ever been involved in.

I did find it odd that we have reappointed QSF after we let him go. Are we going to get him to keep us up and then tell him to sling his hook?

I do hope the critics give us some stick. We are always better when we are being criticised. Ever since the semi-final when we were being praised we have been pants.

Fair well Javi, thanks for the memories: cup run, dreaming of 7th for so long. So close to top half finish, not losing to Slither in your first two meetings with him but most importantly getting the better of him at home last season. The great start to last season. Staying in your job for as long as you did and adding stability to the club. Also must of had a part in persuading Deulofeu to join. Sticking to your principles that worked so well for so long was inevitably your down fall. All the best and good luck to you in the future.
And now welcome back QSF, you brought a style of play that established confidence and believe with a promoted squad, not allowing big teams to turn us over, hopefully you don’t bring Jurado back with you and you can get the best out of our Spanish contingent and fast new players. Sort our defence out, your cv is one of if not the best to come to the club in recent times let’s hope you can get the best out this squad. Do yourself a favour and travel with the team one thing javi done was secure a great team environment, stick with the player fines and yoga it worked for most Javi’s tenor

Thanks for everything Javi, you did everything we could have asked of you and more! Maybe this will turn out to be the right call, but still, a bit more attention to the defence and I'm sure it wouldn't have come down to this!

I’m producing a tour for work.

Left Korea with Gracia in charge and landed with QSF in Hong Kong. Will be in Singapore in 48hrs and expect to have Dyche back by then.

    In Bassini I trust.

How the hell was Gracia ‘progressive’?

Gracia did well last season. But don’t let it get lost that QSF managed Atlético to the CL and won the Europa League. Manages the likes of Aguero etc. who respect him. QSF has achieved more than Gracia and that’s a fact.

That’s not me talking down Gracia. But progressive? Do one on that call.

Not altogether surprised that Javi is gone, but QSF? F*cking hell.

Barring him suddenly going through some kind of tactical renaissance, I certainly won't be making any great attempt to get out of bed to watch the remaining 34 games. We were very poor fare after Ighalo's purple patch ended.

I really hope things don't go the way many of us already expect they will.

We played some of the best football we ever did (in the PL) under Gracia pre April so I don't get how it was not progressive? We then fell off a cliff and started to result to lumping it up to Deeney rather than play out from the back which we couldn't recover from. Don't let a bad end cloud your judgement.

And I am aware that QSF managed Atletico years ago, the same statements were made when he managed us. But as we know he stuck to 4-4-2 with Andi and Jurado on the wings with us going long to Deeney for most of the season.

I think my statement was correct so I shall not do one but rather debate the actual topic.

Agreed. In the Quique season, we played more long balls than any other team. In fact, since we've been promoted, only Burnley (twice) have played more long balls than us over the course of a season.

Add to that, Quique got sacked at Espanyol after his team had scored only 26 goals in 32 games in the league. They didn't score at all in 16 of those games.

But to counter that, he did manage a young Aguero ten years ago so he must be a progressive coach!

Mazzarri managed Napoli and Inter but doesn’t make him a good choice of manager.

I really hope this appointment works but I confess I am experiencing feelings of anxiety.

Not unexpected. A but surprised it has taken a week and QSF was not brought in earlier to take over training. Managers, players, chairmen come and go but the club and fans are always there. I have no doubt if Flores does a bad jo he will go again. And even if he keeps us up the Pozzo's may have someone else lined up as a better candidate who may be unavailable at this time due to their contractual obligations. As usual there is the cacophony of shrieks and wails from the misinformed which constitutes most of the footballing watching public outside of Watford. Football is a results business. The Pozzo's do not want to see their crown jewel end up in the Championship. They have seen the downturn in form from last season for whatever combination of reasons and have as usual taken swift action to remedy it. There is no time for sentimentality in the game.

Javi will have understood that. I am sure he will be snapped up pretty soon in La Liga as the managerial merry go around continues. If he does improve he will examine the reasons why it went wrong and hopefully for him correct those. He never wanted to do a bad job as it is his livelihood. We should thank him for some of the football we have played and reaching a FA Cup final. For those detracting from that achievement many of the so called bigger clubs have also reached finals by what are deemed relatively easy routes.

Ignore the pundits and halfwits. Would one keep playing a player who is badly out of form. Of course not. Would fans of other clubs persist in a manager who is struggling to get results over some twenty matches where the same basic failings keep reappearing. Again no. Most of the nonsense spouted is from hypocrites and the usual suspects in the West Midlands and the blue half of Merseyside and those who think we are a badly run club have not got a clue. They can probably count the number of neurons in their grey matter with the fingers of one hand.
