Isn't it a lovely feeling, that Watford cannot f*ck up your weekend this week. I'm really looking forward to a weekend of no domestic football. The international break is a god send, and I'll never complain about it ever again.
Wait until they announce that Sarr has broken his leg in training and Capoue has snapped his Achilles.
I hate international break. The only benefit is that hopefully arsenal players pick up injuries. Other than that I would much watford be playing this weekend. Internationals should just be banned. The top 20 nations in football shouldn’t have to qualify, they should be seeded in every tournament. The remaining rubbish should fight it out with rock paper scissors. Thus not having to put up with pointless friendlies and qualifiers, the season can finish slightly earlier, giving our boys an actual chances of winning something and getting an earned rest, ready for the new season.
International breaks are worse when you've got a guy like Pereyra travelling to Chile for a pointless friendly and doesn't even come off the bench. Just select players from the South American leagues if you're going to do that.
Add to that, the sound of Clive Tyldesley orgasmicly screaming 'Rashforrrrd' as he deflects one past a postman. I ******* hate England.
Yeah. Cancel international games. Bring back the PL so Gracia can leave a lad who’s come from Senegal on the bench in Hertfordshire instead.
If there'd been no AFCON this summer, Sarr could have taken his place on the bench even earlier in the season.
Driving home yesterday I caught part of a discussion on Talksport where they seemed to be ridiculing a caller for saying he would rather West Ham won the league than England win the World Cup. Now I quite happily support England from my armchair every other summer in the major tournaments, but all my emotional (and much financial) investment goes into supporting Watford, so I would get far more out of us winning a trophy than England being successful, although I would enjoy it at the time. I don't really see why any football fan, especially one who goes to live games, would fell any differently. By the way I also hate international break weekends. Stick the qualifiers back into midweek.
County league starts this weekend for my 12 year old So fingers crossed his team has a better start to the season !!
The World Cup should be confined to the countries that have won it before, and the country that codified the rules should be given a two-goal start in every game
Been a while but it'll be nice to see a team I support actually win. Oh, and not having to watch Andre Grey scuff a shot from 4 yards out is the real highlight.
I'm going to nip round the M25 to watch Kings Langley take on Barking in the first preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon. Can't be any worse than the last FA Cup match I went to
I’ll be drowning my sorrows at the pub as I normally do, regardless of whether or not the football’s on. Because i’m a sad sod.
First of all the match was played in Los Angeles. It may be a pointless friendly to you but to the managers of both teams it is a critical match where they can assess players for the forthcoming Copa and longer term 2022 as both teams are rebuilding with a young core. And it was not played in a friendly spirit either given the historical rivalry between the two countries off and in recent years on the pitch. The Premier League is not the be all and end all of football. There is a plethora of football outside of it and while international football may be decried in certain quarters it still exerts a great hold over footballing fans in other continents particularly South America. GT himself welcomed international football and sending players from the club out on international duty as a sign the club had pulled itself to heights never previously achieved.
