After narrowly missing out (got down to the final 6 people) on a role at a top 4 PL team, I've decided that I'll be setting up my own company. The premise is pretty simple: I'll provide detailed set-piece analysis to clubs for a fee that allows their analysis staff/assistant manager etc to focus on other things. However, I am stumped for a name for the company. I've spent 15 mins brainstorming and come up with the following: Set-piece Solutions Dead-ball Designs Over The Wall Beyond the Wall On The Whistle At the Back-Post Set-Piece Smarts Set-Piece Intelligence Set-Piece Designs SP Consultancy Corner Flag Consultants Any favourites in there? Any better ideas? Cheers!
"Set Piece Solutions" sounds brilliant to me. Emphasises the area you focus on and the word "solutions" suggests that you are fixing a problem that pretty much every team will want fixed. Teams don't want "analytics" or "intelligence" or "designs" they want "solutions". If you venture into a wider advice consultancy the name might be a hindrance but you could always start a new venture or change name at that point. Good luck with the venture. I'm sure the Mods can write you a nice reference and you can use educating RC/HB1/GD as interesting case studies.
Well done. V. good idea to set this up yourself & shape it your way. Are you going to set up as a limited company?
Then I would say consider giving it a generic name like SP Solutions Ltd Or SP Consultancy Ltd. Will sound more professional when you are pitching to clients & leaves you free to take your ideas in other directions later.
Good luck with your new venture Reids. I don't know if it's an avenue you've considered or if it's really viable but would pitching your work to media outlets be of benefit to you? Maybe some print and/or internet media could take your analysis as a weekly/monthly feature, especially for big head-to-head games the world over. It was just a thought that occurred so apologies if it's a bit of a dumb suggestion. Anyway, best of luck with finding a name (SP Solutions (or even RSP Solutions (Reids Set-Piece Solutions)) does have a decent ring to it) and moving forward with your work.
