What does Leventhal mean by 'my view'? Is that his personal opinion, or based on an official position from the club?
If I answered you then I'd be guessing, but it's obvious he's got good connections with the club and can also use all the other resources SkySports has. What he updates on Twitter has come from the club mixed in with a bit of joining of the dots, I suspect. Even in January he was saying a CB and striker/wide player were a priority, so it looks like nothing has changed regarding that. Pedro and Cucho to come into the squad is not a massive revelation, but clearly relies on work permits, and the final bit about our three top players is down to the club not having received any concrete offers....yet.
Linked, reliably or not, by Marca and from there by the Watford Observer, with a loan move to Real Valladolid of La Liga. https://www.marca.com/futbol/valladolid/2019/07/04/5d1df32e22601df1358b45e7.html https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...rd-39-s-cucho-hernandez-loan-real-valladolid/
http://sportwitness.co.uk/spain-la-liga-battle-watford-youngster-preference/ A little bit in this article saying that Watford are close to securing a new contract with Cucho. Good news if correct.
Come November, Giraldi will get that strange feeling he's forgotten something. Maybe a gas bill, maybe a Colombian international striker.
I'm guessing he doesn't want to drop into the Spanish 2nd division, and no one in La Liga wants him after last season?
Looks like he's going to Real Mallorca on loan. https://www.football-espana.net/80256/real-mallorca-set-watfords-cucho-hernandez
Some more news...….. https://www.diariodemallorca.es/rcd...hernandez-jugara-cedido-mallorca/1442759.html Basically Cucho is going to Real Mallorca on loan, but there will be no option for them to buy. Watford are close to extending his contract, which he'll sign very soon. Another year in Spain will be enough for Hernandez to secure a Spanish passport, which will improve his chances of gaining a work permit in England. Watford see him as a player who could greatly improve and are not willing to sell at this time. I'm very pleased that he's going to sign an extended contract. He's a player I have high hopes for.
Although he had less minutes than Deeney who plays a comparable role as a hard working, target man type striker and was playing in a relegated Huesca side, his overall performances were either equal too or better if you're going by his expected contributions over 90 minutes except for goals per 90 and assists per 90. (And his expected goals per 90 is significantly higher to boot) The blue being Deeney and green being Hernandez. As long as we can intergrate our attacking talent in Pedro, Hernandez, Stuparevic (Who I hear asked by Moog. Or an alt of his.) next Season we won't need to worry about our attack for a long while. We still need significant investment in our defense though.
I think he's a great player, with loads of promise. I've naturally seen him play a lot, and I just love his attitude and willingness to get into scoring positions. He's like a technically gifted Gray. Works hard for the team, chases everything, has a good positional awareness, but unlike Gray, he has a very good first touch and can finish.
So the for the two stats which are actually most important - goals per 90 and assists per 90 - he was worse than TD, who himself has not exactly been setting an especially high benchmark. Yeah great.
http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/loaned-out-juan-camilo-hernandez.53503/page-4#post-2748456 I looked at his biggest xG chances that didn't end up as goals here, he was incredibly unlucky not to score more last season. I would expect him to overperform xG this season as things balance out.
lowerrous on Cucho = HB1 on referees. I can only respect the dogged determination to remain down on this fair prospect. It’s going to be a bloodbath if he actually comes good.
I'd be pleased if he does come good, but I'd be surprised if it happens based on what I've seen of him.
Cucho has officially joined RCD Mallorca on loan for the rest of the season. He's currently recovering from a hamstring injury (operation?) and is due back in October. http://www.rcdmallorca.es/contenido...ord-fc-acuerdan-la-cesion-del-cucho-hernandez
Well, he's signed a new contract but the article fails to say how long for. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/official-new-contract-loan-move-cucho
Clearly the club have been reading this forum. Having seen how Prodl’s lifetime deal upset some patrons on here, it would appear Gino is protecting himself for further consternation amongst the forum members.
