Javi’s 4222 came about because we didn’t have any reliable wide players, he played Deulofeu and success as strikers leaving Sema and the invisible Penaranda as only options. Pereyra is no winger. We now have the personnel to change it up but like QSF fans and myself included are fed up with the complete ignorance and insanity to not change a losing system.

In this week he has 2 winnable games to save his job. Both will not be easy games by any means we will have to work for the results but results being the number 1 priority, his approach to both games is also pivotal to his survival, even if we win.

Javi will be hoping for a result against Coventry to prevent the lsoing run extending to 9,10, 11 games.
Even if we beat Newcastle now it is likely we will still be bottom.

The bloke at the Esso told me that some fat northern bloke, with an italian surname on his credit card (Allerdici or something) came in and asked if he knew a bloke called Vic Rigdgeroad - he gave him directions to the ground and the geezer was so grateful that he got out a bundle of fifties from a brown paper bag and passed one over saying that his mate the sheikh had given it all to him.

We shipped 22 goals in the last ten games under QSF. That's not a functioning defence, albeit it's marginally better than the current run we're on.

  7. I really don't understand what point you are trying to make.

QSF had a far more limited squad, had the objective of staying in the prem, and achieved it using a solid 442. No it wasn't pretty at times, but it achieved the objective.

Gracia has a far better squad, has chosen to play a god awful formation, has created a sieve of a defence which is shipping goals like they are going out of fashion, and seems completely oblivious to the need for change.

Are you seriously trying to defend Gracia, or is this just an excuse for a row on here?

Thread after thread you pick a row. I'm done with you. Blocked. Bye.

Its too early for him to get sacked, after 3 games is ridiculous. The first game we were very bad, but I thought against Everton and West Ham we had good spells in the game. Just the defence needing the right personnel.

Also some have said the midfield is our strength. That may be true but there isn't competition for places either. We are relying on Capoue and Doucoure to play well every week. And if they don't they know they will be alright as there isn't anyone else Gracia has faith in to replace them. Doucoure hasn't started too well this season.

When would you sack him.? After we have been relegated? What is the point in sacking a manager? One reason is to avoid relegation. We now have to perform better overall than each of the last three years just to get to 40 points. So how many losses equals a sacking in your book?

Javi’s article on the official site sounds like he is going to ring the changes 2moro. If this happens he can pack his bags as far as I’m concerned. This is the game where he needs to play our best team and get the win and confidence we desperately need. An ideal game for Sarr and Welbeck to get a full 90 minutes plus change the formation ready for our must win game at Newcastle.
This is the week that will really show if Javi and team are just going through a ‘blip’ or not.

What? Ringing the changes would literally be giving Sarr and Welbeck 90 mins so what are you on about? You want him to do that but if he does do that he can pack his bags? Poor bloke can't win.

Yeah i suppose your right. I did say we need to play our best team and I think they should be included in that. It’s more the playing fringe players over 1st team players that I’m bothered about. Now is not the time for giving others match time just because they haven’t played in the PL so far.

The league cup is a distraction at this stage. Priority number one is steadying the ship in the prem. If we lose tomorrow, unless it's an embarrassment I suspect it will have no bearing on the decision to get rid of Gracia or not. That decision has either already been made, or will be made after Newcastle.

A good opportunity tomorrow to give a number of players a chance, to see whether they can stack a claim for a starting place. I would rest the whole team from Saturday, and see what the other players can do. It would be good to give the likes of Welbeck, Sarr and Chalobah some game time to help with their fitness

I still don't agree with this.

No player so far has really earned the right to play. You can make a case for most players who haven't had a look in yet getting a game over those who have...
Foster has done okay but conceding 7 in 3 games? If Bachmann is ever going to be looked at, its games like these that are perfect.
Holebas is old. A rest might be sensible.
The vast majority of fans want Janmaat over Femenia anyway.
Neither CB has been anything less than dire so far. Cathcart especially and Kabasele should play.
    Capoue should play...
Doucoure has been very poor and sitting out wouldn't be the worst thing. Especially if we are trying to get minutes and fitness into Chalobah.
Quina is someone else we are all keen to see.
Sarr and Welbeck need minutes for sure.

To say Javi should pack his bags if he makes the above decisions. Really?

Would be crazy to play the strongest eleven. More fatigued for the weekend, would annoy the squad players who don't play that much and imagine if one of the key players got injured?

Use it as an opportunity for people to stake their claim in the first eleven or bring match fitness up. Don't risk anyone that might be key in next few weeks.

Bachmann / Dahlberg; Janmaat, Mariappa, Kabasele, Masina; Dele Bashiru, Quina, Chalobah; Penaranda, Dalby, Success.

Dalby might be a bit risky but he seems to be scoring goals, happy for Gray to play too, he should be able to do that and Saturday really it's not that tough an ask.

Sarr, Welbeck, Cassidy, Forster, Cleverley, Prodl & Okaka on the bench.

If Gomes plays then Javi should be fired for that alone.

Tomorrow has to be an opportunity for the likes of Chalobah (if he’s even alive still), Quina, Janmaat, Kabasele and maybe even somebody like Penaranda or Folquier to stake a claim and push for inclusion in the first team. It’s surely also an opportunity for guys like Sarr and Welbeck to get some important minutes In the quest to get them starting every week.

The result isn’t really important, but if there are some individuals who put in strong performances and force Javi into considering them for selection, it’s a successful outing.

Yep, it'll look very like that. Of course he will (and should) play a different eleven. That's bog standard for the Carabao Cup. All managers/head coaches do it. Agree re. Gomes.

Looks good and is probably quite realistic too. I'd start Welbeck and Sarr too, though, even if only for 60 minutes or so.

Not sure if we'll be seeing Penaranda, sounds like the Pozzos have been trying to shift him.

I wonder if Foulquier is in the mix at all - he surely can't be bad having played in a good La Liga team last season. Might just be an upgrade on Kiko & Janmaat?!

Just read this thread. People comparing the **** in charge to QSF!

Comparing the second greatest manager in the history of our club to someone who looks like he should be holding a little fishing rod and sat on a toadstool in your back garden. It's laughable!

This witless terd has thrown tens of millions at this squad, and all the dashing QSF was a handful of mercenaries which cost buttons to play with. And he still kept us up with months to spare!

Charm, confidence, elegance and panache versus scruffy, shabby, uncouth, passé.

Quite how anyone can compare a snaggletoothed simpleton with a lego haircut to someone who looks like he stepped straight off the suit page of the freemans catalogue is utterly beyond me.

    QSF was an atrocious manager.

He relied entirely on Ighalo having a ridiculous scoring streak. Once that ended, we were stuck with terrible football and Iketchi Anya being subbed on at the hour mark.

    Horrible.

Your put down actually has had the opposite effect. All you have done is highlight the fact that he effortlessly kept us up with duds like ighalo and anya. A truly remarkable feat of management.

Ighalo kept us up because he carried through his form from the previous season.

When Ighalo lost his own personal form we reverted to form as a Championship quality side. Without him, we'd have easily been relegated.
