He did play 4-2-3-1 today. Pereyra was injured and Welbeck and Sarr obviously weren't considered fit enough to start.

Anyone else to put @wfcmoog forward as manager? He has my vote.

No it won’t, we’re going to pull off the biggest upset in the Prem ever.

At least that’s what I did on FIFA, and it was on World Class.

Deulofeu is our only player that the opponent fears and often takes a couple marking him. Should of changed formation today. 4231 and tried to protect the back four

Would bringing Navarro and Wilmot back help? We must have a break clause in their loan deals?

We need QSF’s block of 4 back with this defence.

I think they were coming on for about 10 minutes whilst that bloke with the clipboard stood making notes. By which time the game was gone. We have no energy and it comes from the manager i’m afraid

I should also point out that my sons and I celebrated this marvelous victory with a ceremony and some flag waving. It was an epic day in my household, one we will cherish forever.

Apparently the first intended sub, at 1-1, was Janmaat coming on. I don’t get that at all.

I wouldn't take on that shower of ****.

Gino would have to sign some defenders before I'd even look at negotiation.

4411 Hughes and Cleverley were left and right of Capoue and Doucouré, if anything Cleverley roamed inside a lot and left holebas isolated Deulofeu had some freedom and played where he wanted.

You laugh but why don't we do this more often? I saw no defiant flag waving at 3-1. I tried to start but got told to **** off by some day tripper.

Weird how we only do it in cup finals. Get behind the boys ffs.

Hughes wide, lol. Play Kiko there and bring Janmaat in. Poor old Daryl. Has he shagged Javi's wife or something?

The Scout guy was having a heated chat with 2 blokes by the dugout as the game ended !

    Had something been said ..

My brother was right there and told me all about it. Giraldi wasn’t allowed near the dugout at all. They let all the players past but when Giraldi went they called security over. When Giraldi said something they called over more security.

I think by and large we’re very capable on the ball ( in possession ) it’s when we don’t have the ball, the problems occur. We are by a country mile the worst team in this division, without the ball. Teams cut through us with ease and that is pure and simply down the manager/coach I see many similarities with us this season as I did Huddersfield last year and look where it got them.
I said after the cup final in a thread on here that we were an embarrassment ( I didn’t get carried away with all the flag waving b0ll0cks ) Javi didn’t set us up well at all that day, which is why we got thumped. Teams like Leicester, wolves and to a certain extent, Palace don’t get thrashed by the so called bigger teams, purely because of their work ethic off the ball. If we don’t address this problem, we’ll be relegated by February. It’s easy to blame the back line but the problem is way bigger than just that.
    We need a Benitez!!

I didnt mean it as a dig at you but as a dig at the club’s recruitment policy which seems to start in midfield and work forward

Sorting out the defence was Pozzo and Giraldi's fault. To "improve" it with a bargain-basement CB who didn't do that well in the Championship last year is woeful.

To not make subs at the right times, to be reactive instead of proactive and make tweaks to a system that isn't working properly is Javi's fault.

To miss the multitude of chances we had (23 shots, 3 on target) and to make basic lower-level mistakes that the defence made is on the players.

To sum up, continue this **** and we'll be seeing them up the road twice next year in a league format.

I suspect that largely reflects ROI: midfielders and attackers offer better opportunities for returns, defenders less so... at least historically. It would be fair to note that defensive transfer fees appear to have gone up sharply lately.

So, as expected, we're done by another poor decision by Kavanaugh as early as the first minute. It looked like an extremely soft penalty, a decision which we never get. Just moments before that Deulofeu gets fouled in similar fashion and nothing is given. This is the way it's going for us. Only three matches into the season and so far every major decision has gone against us. Another VAR decision for a foul on Gray, goes against us. There were a couple of handball shouts as well, but nothing doing.

But, going forward we were excellent today. We created so many great chances, yet conspired to find new ways of missing them. GD had two fantastic opportunities, Doucoure missed a sitter of a header, Cleverley skied high a great chance, Gray sliced wide a couple of very good chances as well as his excellent goal, and all this was in the first half. How Hughes missed that chance in the second half, only he knows. It would have made it 2-1 to us. These moments have to go your way in order to get a result.

We are getting no luck, but we're also extremely vulnerable defensively. Gracia has to get to grips with that, if not he'll be gone. We are far too easy to play against. Opponents don't have to work hard to score. It's all too easy, yet we make it look like the hardest thing in the world to do.

Newcastle is the battle of the no-hopers...….an 0 will have to go.

Take the £20 million for Joao Pedro, dump Dawson into the stiffs and replace Javi.
Does Sarr have 13 weeks probation period, standard in most employment contracts. If so, l bet he and his agent are now looking at it.
This season is a washout. Apart the die hard fans and the elite members of this forum, most noise on this site before the season even began was the concerns about complacency, age of the squad, the poor form at the end of last season, the awful transfer window dealings and fear of relegation. Most fans could see this coming. No crystal ball needed.
3 games in and we look pants and clueless.
If Javi is not out by Monday, defeat next week and he will be gone.
