Correct. Unattached players can be signed and registered at any time.

Fair enough - as an Englishman I hope you are right*. However, he's played one season of first team football and is already spoken for. We shall see.
*Certainly England could do with some good defenders.

However, they would not be allowed to play if we have already have 25 players in our named squad, unless he qualified by being under 21.

Being directly behind the goal wasn’t great for watching the whole game, but you do pick up other things you don’t always see. There was very little communication going on between the defence - which looks obvious with some of the play (especially the goals). Dawson may turn out to be ok , but he wasn’t the commanding vocal leader I’d hoped he might be.

Late on in the game there was an injury and all the Brighton players went over to the dug out to get instructions (and a drink ..!) whilst most of ours were stood around in little groups not doing very much .

Deeney himself was just on his own by the half way line .

Reminded me of how we acted when GT was in charge (but obviously it was us doing the motivational stuff).

What about Foulquier unless they are letting him go?

Kiko let's the ball over his head, and a MN an run in behind, on most occasions.

David Silva out jumped him in the cup final.

Janmaat not the perfect defender either but he can head the ball.

Got to be worth a few starts

Femenia is more dangerous going forward and quickter. He's also more dangerous (in a very bad way) as a defender. They are both very much made of glass. Given that I hope Sarr starts and will: a) be a significant threat going forward and b) presumably less aware of and comfortable with his defensive duties - I hope Janmaat gets the start. Femenia and Sarr on one side could be very exciting... lots of cross into the box, on BOTH ends. I'm not ready for that yet.

You say that, but has Kiko actually got any assists? Janmaat can really cross a ball.

Particularly if there's no f*cker in the box to get on the end of any of our crosses !

Difficult to get an assist when the box is empty, in fairness. Hopefully Welbeck will make a difference there....

How is Femenia more dangerous going forward?

    Femenia 18/19 - 29 games, 1 goal, 1 assist
    Janmaat 18/19 - 18 games, 0 goals, 2 assists

    Femenia 17/18 - 23 games, 0 goals, 1 assist
    Janmaat 17/18 - 23 games, 3 goals, 0 assists

    Femenia 16/17 (La Liga) - 31 games, 0 goals, 2 assists
    Janmaat 16/17 - 27 games, 2 goals, 1 assist

Janmaat has played considerably less football yet has still been technically more productive over the past three seasons. Femenia has pace over Janmaat, that is literally it.

Looking at those stats, it's like comparing a poke in the eye with a sharp stick or a poke in the eye with a blunt stick. One is marginally better than the other, but you'd rather have neither.

I'm not sure this part of the analogy works. Should be a comparison of 2 blunt objects.
