I've just been told this is virtually done and dusted. Just needs tying up which should all be done tomorrow. Virtually nothing left to do apart from minor admin, which is all relatively straightforward, though there is always an outside chance of a hitch, but everything is looking positive.

I was raised in a strictly pro-cheese family our house resonated with the smell of camambert, stilton, red Leicester and obscure goat cheeses from far away lands but others were not so fortunate. My friend Mark was raised on cheddar. Not a bad thing on it's own but when your mum thinks Stilton is a hotel in London u know you're in trouble.

There was a worry about staples running out, theft of paperclips or the printer ink running out but the high security at London Colney should be enough to see this over the line.

Watford's pursuit of Ismaila Sarr going down to the wire - source at Rennes told L'Équipe this evening that an agreement was still a way off.

I don't even know what to believe anymore.

As much as I want signings, there’s part of me that just wants us to pull out of this deal. It’s just becoming farcical and no deal in football should take this long. Either ourselves or Rennes are taking the p1ss out of the other side and I’m really quite surprised neither party has walked away yet.

Update from Leventhal via 'The Athletic'. Deal not yet done. Hoping to close it for around £34m. Sarr would sign a 5 year deal.

 

So his Athletic updates are the same as his Twitter ones? Disappointing if you'd subscribed.
