According to this http://www.sportspromedia.com/analysis/premier-league-preview-2018-19-sponsors-kit-deals-every-club Nike paid Brighton £1m last season. Puma gave the same amount to Burnley and £4m to Newcastle. A lot of the smaller clubs received an unreported amount (zero possibly?) I'd guess we'd recieve no more than £1m per season (though more likely nothing)

I read a while back that the manafacturers take by far the lions share of shirt sale income and clubs recieve on average just £12 per shirt sold. Ive also read we sell around 10,000 shirts.. possibly a little more now. If these figures are anywhere near correct our shirt sales wouldnt pay Troy a fortnights wages.

If you look at the close up shots of the match, it’s clearly a transfer that is stuck on - many of the players shirts had creased sponsors. I think it’s a publicity stunt and they wore it in a game where they could get away with it. Notice how the ‘home’ team are wearing their away kit.

Lol 55 quid for something that cost £2.50 to make.

On the email, who is the diffident looking fellow at the back?

Either Craig Dawson or Peter Hook.

Definitely. It's exactly the sort of thing Paddy Power would do. They know it won't be allowed so they've either paid Hudderfield a one-off fee to wear it in pre-season or they are the actual shirt sponsors for the season and will revert to the regulation size in August. Either way, look at the publicity it has generated.

Watching the friendly against Ajax, and the yellow on the front of the shirt looks a slightly different colour/fabric to the sleeves and back... Which is a bit rubbish!

  8. I don't think it is .maybe it was your stream. Just watched some YouTube highlights and seemed the same.

I actually think it looks ok in action. Just don't think it works with the black shorts.

Fortunately for me, the one I've ordered should go nicely with my pink, minty green, pastel blue and denim shorts.

The shirt looks good..not the Huddersfield one :) and will boost awareness and shirt sales.....I imagine China is a target for both “Our desire to increase our global reach while continuing to make our fans proud by doing things differently in the Watford way is fully supported by Sportsbet.io.

    Horrible.

    A half-and-half scarf-a-like Blackburnesque atrocity.

It has the look of a relegation shirt about it. The sort of shirt seen desperately scrambling about hopelessly as another goal is lamely conceded.

It's better than last seasons kit. Yellow socks look much better.

In case you hadn't noticed Deeney has a massive noggin'. Can't have the club captain in skins because he can't get the shirt over his head.

What is the issue with having a betting company as our sponsor?
Shirt looks better than I first thought

  16. The Norwich away kit looks good.

I'd quite like a red away shirt this year.

I really like it. Sponsor is O.K and I agree an upgrade from last season design wise.

Followed by no one giving a fig about the look of the kit by September!

About the sleeve thing. I thought it was better the way it is having done this mock up. The all yellow side gives it a bit of restbite from a kit where there's already a lot going on.

The Huddersfield kit was indeed a spoof. Paddy Power are the sponsor but the actual shirt features no logo at all on the front.

It’s actually part of a very good marketing ‘stunt’ or campaign to promote shirts going back to what they used to be with no sponsor. I find Paddy Power (and all betting sites) tedious advertisers but I can certainly get behind this.

Even moving the sponsors to the sleeve or lower back would be a start. Never happen though.

But it’ll only really work for an early-adopter as the buzz will wear off if others copy. And then what’s in it for the sponsor if no one talks about them? What would they be paying for? The profile of sponsors in the EFL is much lower so PP aren’t even giving up much.

David Squires has pretty much nailed it in his latest cartoon:

I presume that this will be the last kit with the old badge as the new design wont appear mid season, and will be changed for next seasons kit. By Christmas last year it was a struggle to get a normal adult size home shirt as the stock run was a one off production. I wonder if this new shirt will run out sooner than last years because of the impending changes to the badge.

Was one of the reasons I might get it. Waiting to see what the away tops like first. (As I’m not fond of the home shirt )

Just goes to show how subjective it is, and just how wrong and blind some people can be

No idea how that Palace shirt keeps getting rated so relatively highly, it's an overly busy eyesore. Shocked at how low West Ham's kits are there; the away is beautiful, and the first one posted here got it mostly right in the sense of having Everton right at the bottom. That shopping centre food court patterning is abysmal.

The new shirt is officially released tomorrow (Friday 26 July).

I fully expect a new signing to emerge from the Watford shop on the hour, every hour, with each players transfer fee slightly higher than the person before. Good times.

I have to say it's a little tighter than previous years. That or my Yorkshire eating habits seriously need to be looked into!
