Watford are interested in Lazio defender Bastos and are working on a potential deal... according to Twitter. His real name is Bartolomeu Jacinto Quissanga
https://twitter.com/WD18fans/status/1151438050435772416?s=20 They got it from Simon Collings who works for Evening Standard.. https://twitter.com/sr_collings/status/1151398722623942658?s=20 Could be absolutely nonsense!
We won't sign him so it doesn't matter. There are still a few weeks for expectations to drop a little further so that the Prodl contract extension will look like good business
Depends on which platform you are looking at. Some say he is only 5ft 9in, but plays like he is 6ft 1/2in. Others say he is 6ft 1/2in but plays like he is 5ft 9in. All we know is, he’s called Bastos. ^^^ you can only read this in a Jeremy clarkson voice introducing the stig. All other forms of reading are banished!!
I like that we're still being linked to CBs, even though I don't really know if this guy is any good. He's already been linked to Levante and Wolves this window though, so it could just be his agent shopping him around.
His aerial stats in Serie A were just 1.4 won from 2.6 attempts per 90 - that's a very poor percentage (54%) on a pretty low number of challenges.
Just so long as he's Agile, Mobile and Hostile. I've somewhat given up on the whole "can complete a pass " thing for this year.
Opinion from Reddit suggests that he is definitely an upgrade on Kabasele, although he needs a more sanguine partner to mop up after odd moments of recklessness. I'm intrigued.
I was going to mention something about typical lefty hate speech but I really can't be arsed , as to the thread , we have asking for CBs we have one new one and hopefully we can get another. I'm in. Hopefully we can acquire a winger as well as hold on to key personnel.
It'll be impossible for me to get too excited for the new season with Deeney still leading the line. Even with an improved defence we're not going to fare any better against the top teams while effectively playing with 10 men as Troy goes missing yet again as soon as he comes up against any half-decent CB.
It was most of it. But big teams also know they can press us high up the pitch with Deeney as the CF as he's not going to win anything.
