    Ahh those were the days...

I prefer last season's kit, but it's not too bad.

It's a nice shirt, but the sponsor looks ****. The mock up with FxPro looked infinitely better.

I can see what Adidas are up to now. Their design brief for our kit is "ever widening stripes"

Our 2020/21 season shirt will feature just the one stripe.

It's a bit of a mess. The red stripes were a very odd decision.

Only positive is that it might distract opposition goalkeepers when a player is through on goal.

It is a bit of a mess, you're right. It's not even a proper half and half kit. The sleeve on the yellow half should be black.

I don't mind the red stripes and it did look better with FX Pro.

They've also put the price up. £55 for an adult size and £45 for sponsor-less kids one.

So I assume this Estonian betting company won’t be dishing them out for £20 like MoPlay did?

Juventus got the sleeve thing right... Not sure why Watford didn't. Probably so they didn't have to get half and half skins for the players to wear in winter, but it would look so much better like this.

Not a very nice kit,. Looks like it has been thrown together at the last minute.
Why are both sleeves yellow? Did Adidas run out of material?
Why is the neckline so large? Was Shrek the model for the design.
    I preferred the stripes .

Yay a huge chunk of black like the season we did rubbish when Zola was sacked. Now Wolves are the 'Old Gold' and Norwich will wear yellow with pride. Are we losing our identity each season or what - What next a new er....badge?

Every other day of the year:
Look I'm sorry, but who cares about fashion. I couldn't think of anything worse than spending a day thinking about clothes/ judging celebrities outfits. Call me simple, but these things aren't complicated, Just get me a t-shirt and jeans and I'm happy.

The day the kit is released:
Oh.my.god. Tell me they didn't do both sleeves as yellow!!! The neckline totally negates the partitioning effect of the stripes. And don't even get me started about the font. It just looks SO last season. I'm outraged and hurt. This has totally ruined my entire year.

Juventus have been wearing black & white stripes since 1903 but have changed to a split shirt this season.

If a club with the history and standing in the modern game can 'lose their identity' to chase the cash then it's no real surprise a club on the outskirts of London with no major trophy in over 100 years does the same.

£55 for a shiny t-shirt bearing the name of a betting company?

A fool and his money etc...

I'm taking a leaf out of that Afghan Messi kid's book: yellow bin liner and black & red permanent markers should do the trick. Hard for the layman to spot the difference IMHO.

    It’s ghastly.

The thing that offends me the most is the sponsor logo, it’s really intrusive and there’s too much going with circle on the logo, Chinese type writing and a weblink plus double yellow sleeves and red trim. The kit looked better in the u18s shot when the sponsor log was not on it.

I think it’s taking the p1ss expecting people to shell out money on an over priced shirt that basically advertises a betting company. They must think supporters are really thick. Fortunately for the beautiful game us supporters are pretty thick and this will help to pay a very small % of the wages of ridiculously over paid young men.

It really is a load of b0110cks.

I think it pays more than a very small % of the wages.

I read an article the other day (based around Arsenal’s kit launch) that the manufacturers pay the contracted amount at the start of each season. Let’s say our deal is worth somewhere in the area of £15m-£20m with Adidas over 3 years. And the sponsorship deal is worth somewhere between £22m-£25m as per Leventhal over 3 years. On a yearly basis, that’s more than a small percentage of the wages.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, there's a repetition of the badge background and the body of the shirt which I find pleasing.
If the Hart was a Hornet in a similar outline (wings spread) within the same shaped badge I think it'd work well.

I don't care too much about the sponsors logo, I manage to not see them nowadays such is my blindness towards advertising.

Do Adidas really pay us? I'm not sure the accounts showed that much of an increase after they came on board.

I know the big clubs get it but we're a very small fish. Sales are limited. As I alluded to earlier, there's no significant market outside Herts. The club ran out of replica shirts in many common sizes last season and the deal with Adidas precluded making more at short notice to capitalise. And non-replica shirt merchandise has had to be heavily discounted in the last third of every season to try to shift it. Are Adidas really paying us millions for that?

  27. Burnsy

May be an arbitrary amount but I doubt they make it for free? But I agree the sponsorship is the biggest income.

  28. Burnsy

Again, not that it bothers me as I don’t wear them, but seems this one will go on sale without a sleeve sponsor then?

20,000 shirts at £55 each would be £1.1 million gross. Not exactly big bucks.

I was thinking more of the money from shirt sales to fans being a small % of wages but I take your point and those figures are indeed interesting and shockingly big. I still think the sponsor logo ruins the look of the shirt for me and consequently my progeny and I will not be purchasing shirts this year to help fund player wages.
