We’re all used to those crazy Europa League qualifying rounds in the middle of summer taking place in Gibraltar or Iceland, but apparently the Scottish domestic season started last night when Hearts played Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup. Is that really necessary and if so, why?
There was a year when the end of the Spanish season overlapped with the beginning of ours. Football, like the Forum, is 24/7/52, which still isn't enough to take our minds off Brexit
Well the lower league play-offs only just finished last week - one of our loan players was involved and got promoted I think. Of course we have all the International tournaments too and endless Pre-season tours.. Mind you its still long enough for a few of our lads to get into holiday scraps.
Women's netball the next big thing..... Or so the bbc are trying to get us to think now they've lost most sports contracts
Presumably you didn't watch it? The weather would have given you a clue to the answer... Even more crazy - the top level of football in Australia (A-League) is played in summer too - which probably explains why the most northerly side is Brisbane Roar.
