Another winger for the list. Supposedly £18m asking price.

Genuinely wears a Gucci hairband when he plays.

    Ballotelli type move.

    > 'Regarding Watford, the 22 year old isn’t in a hurry to decide, believing other teams could appear as the window drags on. Right now, Watford are presented as edging ahead of the others.'

*Sigh*. Such is life as an 'Orn.

If he could actually have a criminal conviction or mental iil-health I'd say this is a shoo-in.

    #WatfordFC transfer update

My info on Allan Saint-Maximin (Nice) pursuit is bid made earlier in window of approx €20m was rejected. Ismaila Sarr has been target but participation in AFCON & potential auction has seen others considered - therefore interest in Maximin rekindled.

Unusual that Leventhal has shown his pleasure at a players name, although it is a cracking one.

6 goals and 3 assists, last season, aren’t exactly stunning stats. That said stats don’t tell the whole story and 7 French u21 caps suggest he has promise.

Ligue 1 tends to be quite defensive though, especially Nice, whose 30 goals was more than only the two relegated teams. Saint-Maximin was their joint top-scorer) and no other forward got more than 2 goals last season (eat your heart out Deeney and Gray!). I've heard about his frustrating end product, but it looks like there is more to it than that

Not as good as Sarr from what I've heard, but if he's going to be €40m and this lad is going to be about €20m, we might as well take a risk on him. Worst case scenario he flops in his first season and someone else can take his place on the wing

This guy is more of a maverick than either Sarr or Hassan and in the EPL could be either great or awful. He obviously delights in showing off his close control, which looks amazing on YouTube. Not content in beating two guys, he goes around in a circle to beat another. However he then fails to find a team mate. I doubt he has the discipline for the EPL and could be trouble. Thinks he is the next Hazard but already comes with the reputation of Mbaye Niang. At €20 to €25 he is still going to be expensive so I would say quite a risk compared to the others. Very much a marmite player.

If we sign him, it’s going to be glorious. He’ll be disgustingly poor and frustrating in equal amounts for 99% of the time, but every now and again we’ll get a glimpse of that 1%, where he absolutely ruins a couple of defenders and slots it away from an improbable angle.

We’ll spend the next couple of years hoping and hoping that he’ll add consistency to his game.

    He never will.

He’ll be our misunderstood and incredibly divisive savior who never quite manages to save the day.

We’ll just be left with the memory of that time he forced Carl Jenkinson into retirement after triple-nutmegging him into black hole of shame.

Back in the day players like Scullion always put in a shift. Might have only been on £50 a week but it beat working in a local factory. Now we have spoilt primadonnas on obscene money, going on strike, disrupting the dressing room and relying on slimeball agents or a greedy brother to do their dirty work. Unless they come from an impoverished background such as South America you will hardly ever get the work ethic, driven but realistic ambition. Loads of players who should/ should have been much better than they turned due to these defects. Scullion was a very good player in his era, not a World beater but at least he reached his potential.

    You saved me typing it.

Didn’t Scullion come from Chesham Utd for a pair of goal nets or some such?

So either the Pozzos set up an extensive scouting network in S America or they resign Stewart.

Stuart Scullion worked for B.A. As a baggage handler for something like 25 years after a fine playing career, as far as I'm concerned this Maximin bloke comes with too much baggage before his career has taken off and can fly away!

The great players tend to have pretty sensible hair.

My algorithm suggests, though, that we need to target dodgy taches:

Stewart Scullion was a world beater in my innocent young eyes when I watched him beat a full back with his trickery and then go back to beat him again!
And what a goal in 1969 at Old Trafford to earn the cup replay and highest Vic attendance.
If this fella does what Scullion did, would be happy to have him with Gracia’s discipline and coaching bringing him up to scratch.
