I genuinely forgot we even signed him. Another one who won’t play. From a brief search online, I see Strasbourg fans aren’t overly bothered about trying to keep him.
Interview from 'Goal'. He'll be off out on loan or even a permanent transfer soon. http://www.goal.com/fr/news/entreti...lonte-cest-de-jouer/pkvla01xzmrj17gtwqboh378q Dimitri Foulquier: "My will is to play" Loaned in Strasbourg last season, Dimitri Foulquier (25) is back in Watford where he is preparing for a new challenge. Dimitri Foulquier draws mixed results from last season. On loan to Strasbourg, the right-back was unable to express himself fully due to an injury that occurred shortly after his arrival. Today, the defender trained in Rennes is back in Watford where he continues his preparation while waiting for a new project. For Goal, he agreed to take stock of his situation. The opportunity to reveal his expectations for the end of the summer transfer window. You are back in Watford after a season on loan in Strasbourg. How is the future for you? My future must go through a transfer or a new loan. In Watford, it's plugged so today I'm looking for a good project. Did the Watford leaders tell you clearly that they were not counting on you anymore? They did not tell me they were not counting on me anymore, but they told me that for this season it was stuffy, that we had to wait again and that I had every interest in going on loan. But I am not closed either to a definitive transfer. Are there concrete contacts for now? My desire is to play first, to continue to enjoy. In Watford, it is not possible so I will inevitably try to go elsewhere. Today, there are keys, but if it did not happen, it is that we did not manage to find agreement or that it does not interest me inevitably. Do you feel that you have not been able to show yourself fully in Strasbourg? It's not just an impression. It's the case. I arrived, I got hurt. I missed most of the first half of the season. In the second part, I had playing time, but the damage was done unfortunately. It did not stop you from playing 16 Ligue 1 games, 13 of them as a titular. Has not Strasbourg thought of preserving you? I was not loaned with an option to buy. So, there was not really to wonder if Strasbourg would keep me or not. But it's true that I keep very good contacts with Strasbourg. I had a good year, so anything is possible. The more the injuries are linked, the more we return a certain "physical fragility" to recruiters. Do not you think that can stop some? It's possible, and I find it legitimate. We will not lie to each other. I know why I was hurt, it's the most important and I think this season will be better. So you think you can find the full extent of your abilities ... Of course. There, I'm not 100% because I did not play the friendly matches, simply, but I just need two games and I'll be fine. How do you manage to stay calm in an indecisive situation, like the one you are currently living? I am not likely to take my head. These are important things, but I tell myself that there are more serious things in life, like in football. Today, I'm waiting. I know that I have qualities, there will be necessarily offers. In 2013, you were adventurous with the Pogba generation, world champion. Seeing what your past partners did this summer, do not you think you missed the boat at some point? You know, it's simple. I do not think I missed the boat. I thought it was my dream to become a professional. Today, I have a lot of games in Liga, Ligue 1, so I'm happy with what I've done so far. Ideally, you would like to rebound in Liga or Ligue 1 precisely? I do not have priority. What I want is to stay in a big league. This is the only criterion I have.
Interestingly his team (Getafe) are currently 4th in La Liga! Foulquier has started 20/34 league games and he's racked up 3 goals and 1 assist. Can't say I've seen him play but apparently 18 of his appearances have been at right midfield. Wonder if Gino is considering him for a spot as winger next season.
Excellent season for Getafe. It's the Croydon of Madrid & the team are the Palarse. I see DF didn't play in their vs Real at the weekend. Being kept in cotton wool before he returns?

Has Michael McIntyre been coopted into writing our social media? Without his face, though, how will we know he’s being funny?
Alan Nyom (yes, him) has signed for Getafe on a 2 year deal (with an option for a 3rd). I wonder if this will stop a return to Getafe for Foulquier which seemed to be on the cards.
Not listed on the club website even with all the new signings and 'first team' loanees from last season there. A sign that he's on his way and we're keeping Femenia and Janmaat?
Gracia mentioned him in his pre-Brighton injury report on the website as having a calf issue, ruling him out of contention for the opener.
Ah ok, so at least he's the first team radar. Wouldn't mind giving him a go, younger than both Femenia and Janmaat and had a fine season at Getafe last year
http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-tell-defender-now-counting-will-make-potential-exit-difficult/ Apparently set to stay.
If that's true, surely Janmaat is on his way out? He's only got this season left on his contract while Kiko & Foulquier (a poor 1980s 'soul/RnB' duo if ever there was one, and they probably mimed) have until June 2021. It'll be telling who plays tonight.
Good idea. Wheels falling off the football so Pozzo should pivot to music & entertainment. Troy as a potential crooner? Cruise ships? Even if he was sh!t, I'd applaud (if within 20 paces).
Well, if he has any skill as an on-the-ball defender... run him out there. Let the wingers worry about crosses until we stop leaking goals.
Definitely worth keeping as he seems like he can play on both sides. Remains to be seen whether he can against better opposition however,
Was on the front cover of the programme on Tuesday night; the headline reading 'Foulq in the road' with accompanying two-page article about him inside. Clearly produced before his league debut and should have read 'Foulq'd it up'.
In a massive blow to our survival hopes, there's chat on Twitter that he'll be leaving in Jan on a permanent move. Nantes and Granada interested apparently. #sellingthecrownjewels
