    Bugger, I saw this thread float back to the top and thought he was coming home. There’s always hope I suppose, the transfer window doesn’t slam shut until August, hopefully he’ll shimmy though before then.

    If that happens, nobody will know that it’s shut. It has to SLAM to prevent any team being labelled ‘everything wots rong wiv football’.

    I wonder if the footballing authorities have given any thought to what happens to a player who is only halfway through the transfer window when it slams shut?

    Seems like a health and safety code violation to me.

    Yes they absolutely destroyed us.
    It was a massacre, truly it was.
    But it wasn’t unexpected. We will live, anyone else, anyone in the top 6 even we would have had a chance. Against city though no. 1/20 chance at best for a mid premiership team like us.

    An established mid premiership team.
    As distinct from a championship team with no real hope of sustaining itself in the top flight in the foreseeable future

    I don’t think you appreciate the gap you face. You might get a fluke and go up. Then straight back down you go as favourites for the drop. You aren’t a big team in the modern world, unfashionable team from a dying northern town, meh size stadium by modern standards ( yes it’s bigger than ours, well done, but again we are achieving more than you given that) , no big financial backers, none big enough will ever be interested in you. Who in their right mind wants to live in a mid sized industrial northern town.

    The world, the footballing world, moved on from you 20 years ago and you will never see the light of day again. Still I quite like Wednesday
