This is what I was meaning and there's nothing wrong with saying that, IMO. Not sure where your problem lies. You could add to the debate by pointing out he plays on the right side for his club. That is good extra information and is welcome. But you, for whatever reason, want to jump up and down with a "he got it wrong" type attitude, which is a little bit pathetic if you ask me. I can't cater for the sensitivities of some people on here. Just take a comment in the spirit in which it's intended. Not every single quote, fact or opinion is 100% on point all the time. The general meaning is very clear though. I know some people take great pleasure in pointing out these type of perceived inaccuracies, but really, I just don't understand why people do that.

Far be it for me to interrupt - but last week, yourself and me were having a debate in regards to Cucho coming in and you said: Cucho isn't that guy either. Also, when he has played this season it's usually been shoved out to the left of a front three in a 4-3-3, rather than as their centre forward - or sometimes in a front two, but scoring fewer goals than the other forward. It hardly screams of someone ready to make an impact as a number 9 for a mid-table Prem club, does it?! Given his size he doesn't offer much in the way of hold-up play or aerial threat, and he doesn't look any quicker than Gray. He could come good, but he's got a way to go. There's a difference here: I still said either on the left, or in a front two. I admit you do have a point, but the issue with my post is in terms of its accuracy, rather than it being flat out incorrect - in that I admit that looking at my wording again, the use of "sometimes" might be a bit misleading when it was more common that he played in a front two than on the left. However, the trend as the season wore on was still hat he was increasingly dropped to the substitutes bench, and 3 of his last 6 appearances were on the left. Also, I still stand by the point I was arguing there in that he's not a target man/lead the line striker/potential TD replacement - and that element of our discussion still remains more subjective, given that it comes down to evaluating his level of performances, as well as the types of positions he takes up and the role he plays when used in a front two (e.g. I think he often drops very deep to receive the ball, rather than always occupying the CBs; and it's also still true that he scores fewer goals than his strike partners). Anyway, this is the first time you made that specifi point to me, and I'm willing to accept instances in which I may have erred.

I wouldn't really be in favour of it, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway as a theoretical transfer: what about Balotelli on a free? Supposedly according to some French papers we were interested in him in January, but he chose a short term agreement at Marseille (perhaps made more sense at the time for a short-term deal due to geography). His goalscoring record in Ligue 1 has been very good, with 15 in 23, followed by 18 in 28 for Nice, and then following a difficult start to the season with Nice he ended up with 8 in 12 while at Marseille. And he's still got a few good years in him as well for sure. He agreed to a rolling one-year deal at Nice, maybe he'd do the same again here. Okay, he's an absolute nutcase, but that might not be so out of place at our squad.

I have no specific suggestions because I have no knowledge of obscure foreign players, even if they are already 'ours', but what I would like to see above all is a single minded striker who looks to get a shot off as soon as he gets a sight of goal. I seem to spend a lot of time in games exhorting our players to shoot when they attempt the extra pass (e.g. Pereyra in the second half at Wembley). I know we can't attract or afford a top of the range goalscorer but someone who regularly has a go at goal would help.

I just don't understand it HB1. Why do alot of posters go after you? I for one like reading your posts, whether or not I agree with every point. You are as passionate as anyone on here and should be able to express yourself. Personally I wouldn't reply to cyber warrior attacks as it just gives them ammunition.

I don't think there's anything in that. Burnley have both Mee and Tarkowski. Unless one of them is being sold, then of course that's a bit different. However, a club like Burnley would not spend £15m on a defender who is in his final year of contract and is playing for a Championship club. West Brom are in no position to ask for such a high sum. They'll be lucky to get half of that amount for Dawson. West Brom should have sold to Watford for £10m, last summer.
Tarkowski is heavily of interest to Leicester apparently to replace Maguire should he leave. Burnley definitely held strong interest in Dawson last summer and wanted both him and Rodriguez but couldn’t agree a fee. I’d take both of them at Watford now quite happily. Leicester also on the verge of signing Arjen Robben as well according to many sources and bookmakers.
As I suspected, stories suggesting Janmaat may leave are appearing. It makes sense to sell him now. Juanpe has also been linked as our possible incoming centre back. Not overly impressed if that's the case. He went down with Girona this season and is no better than the players we already have IMO.
