Used to love him, been willing him to do really well but he just doesn't LOOK a cut above the rest of our team like he should and sometimes GD does, happy for him to go.
Agreed re Pereyra, won't be shedding any tears on his departure despite his talent, but you're being far too flippant on Doucoure. Another good season from him, tailed off towards the end but he's played so many games and has been charged with carrying a team with 10 men twice of late. We need him to stay if possible!
Called up to the Argentina squad: Even the WO says its for his early season form! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...med-in-argentinas-copa-america-squad/?ref=rss
Pereyra got in not on the basis of his club form but because in the friendlies he has played under Scaloni he has shown himself to be versatile enough in the midfield to cover several spots. He also played well in those matches and scored a goal too. He will be up against di Maria and de Paul for the wide berths so probably a role from the substitutes bench for him. What a pity we could not get de Paul from Udinese. Growing as a player every match.
If I see this **** poncing around one more time in his overlength cardigan at a pre season game he’s already injured for , I’m burning my season ticket and going down the road
It is just meant to be a training exercise more than anything else to get the players used to each other as the majority have hardly played each other. Lo Celso was the star and makes his lack of playing time last summer more and more mystifying. Pereeyra will probably play off the bench as the line up is pretty much finalized with Tagliafico over Acuna for the upcoming opener against Colombia in the Copa America.
He's never been the same since he delivered his own child. I expect him to sign for 'Casualty' very shortly.
Substituted at half time against Paraguay for an overweight Aguero. Tried his flick through the legs but lacks the pace to execute it as we saw in the PL several times. Argentina are a shambles with a manager even more clueless than Maradona was.
I don't understand - Why are Japan in the Copa America? Did they suddenly win Pearl Harbour or have they bought enough of the US to qualify now?
Not if you consider the coach has barely any coaching experience and has no idea what to do. reids (this is no slight on him at all) would be a better qualified candidate. It's clear the players have zero confidence in him (Scaloni). No tactics and no idea of how to play. Takes Lo Celso and plays him out wide and has selected several donkeys who should be nowhere near the team. And has no confidence in the young players like Martinez and Foyth. Selects a keeper like Armani who is badly out of form instead of Benitez (OG Nice) who has been one of the top keepers in Europe this season. Dybala has not even made an appearance.
Benitez has been in form for the last two, let alone this Season when he upsurped a poor Yoan Cardinale. Armani is a very good goalkeeper but Benitez deserves a chance as he hasn't really grasped the chances he's had in the NT so far. Also, with Reids as manager you would see a very high set piece conversion rate.
Called up for the forthcoming friendlies against Chile and Mexico. I'll give credit to Scaloni where it is due. He did well eventually at the Copa after the scandalous refereeing debacle against Brazil and his selections are all merited aside from a recall for Rojo and not swapping Balerdi with Lisandro Martinez who has started his career with a bang at Ajax and already looks a bargain for the price they paid Defensa Y Justicia where he was coached by Beccacece. Nicolas Dominguez also gets a well deserved call up and hopefully is on the Girardi radar.
Neat and tidy without being that effective playing on the right of a diamond it looked like. Second half it looked like he was playing as a wing back as Argentina went to a back three!
