    Then you stop too.

Fair-minded, self-aware people admit when they're wrong. I've admitted several times to being wrong about Gracia.

Admit you were wrong about misinterpreting my first post today as an anti-Gracia dig, and there's no harm done.

Cleverly who hasn't played in months? If he'd been match fit that would've been a good change though. Otherwise I don't think there was another option.

He did go one up top and had Gerry D and Pereyra playing as wide midfielders, but they gave up helping out the full backs after the first goal went in.

I'll give you Foster over Gomes.

You called me wrongly. I've replied to you saying as much and explaining my thoughts. As I'm the only person who knows my thoughts, if I say them then what I say goes. At no point today on my post you misread have I had a dig at Gracia. Be big enough to admit you were wrong and you'd probably be respected more.

You just don't seem to like someone that can read you. You write between the lines, because that is your style. You don't like being called on it, but that's your problem, and I cannot help you with that. You've massively over reacted, and in my experience that is because a nerve has been touched. I'm certainly not going to apologise for being honest.

Don't think playing Foster would have made any difference. I'm sad Gomes' last game went the way it did.

We lost because we didn't take our scoring chances and our defence needs improvement. We lost so badly because after a couple went in we needed to commit more resources up front to attempt a comeback.

Before kickoff we knew we were going to lose and we knew about these weaknesses. We knew Pereya has lost his bottle and Doucore has lost his desire.

No point getting annoyed about any of this. It's only worth getting annoyed if we don't continue to take steps to improve and resolve these issues.

My view is that the squad just got tired & was running on empty towards the end of the season. As is usual. This got compounded with every game & culminated in the result yesterday. It wouldn't have mattered if Foster or Gomes was in goal yesterday.

We always knew this is a mid table team & that's where we ended. The FA cup final was a significant bonus & that's all.

I am over the result yesterday & there is every chance Gino will now get the chequebook out for Javi in the summer. Would not be surprised if a few more of our squad get parachuted in to Udinese in the summer after the positive effect Okaka has had there, as they desperately need strengthening.

Looking forward to another season in the Prem without the utterly pointless & potentially damaging European distraction. I am up for a European campaign but only when we have the required depth in the squad & on the bench to support it. Perhaps 2/3 seasons away.

I think Foster would have made a difference, but only in keeping the score down to a respectable level. Foster has very quick reactions, and I'm sure he would have made 2 or 3 saves that Gomes is unable to make. This is not a slight on Gomes, he did not have a bad game, but he was badly let down by the defence in front of him. I think he could have done better for the second goal but can't be blamed for any of the others.

In a way yesterday might be a good thing as it leaves no doubt that the defence is not good enough. Foster has papered over a lot of cracks this season.

The game was a typical match for Watford this season. Started brightly, created a good chance, missed it, then defended badly. It's been a format that has been replicated many, many times this season. It's frustrating as we can see the frailties and short comings.

I think this has shown how good Gracia actually is. He's worked wonders with only a Premier League midfield to work from. The defence and strikers are Championship standard only. He's squeezed every drop out of this team, but eventually it ran out of juice just at the crucial time.

Looking forward to another season of progress under a brilliant set-up and a club to be proud of. First of all though I need two months of zero football whatsoever. Have a good summer everybody.

Well played to the club for their statement and their acknowledgement of the support yesterday. The owners have done wonders with the club on a limited budget. The fact we finished close to teams like West Ham, Wolves, and Everton who spent heavily is a testimony to the clubs good management. Supporting this club is full of ups and downs. I think not qualifying for Europe is a blessing in disguise. Hopefully we can strengthen in the summer, and get off to another good start. You are only as good as your last game, so a few wins at the start of next season will go a long way to banish the memory of yesterday

For those saying Javi got his tactics badly wrong or the team
Didn’t show up , I disagree . In the first half we sat back , tried to keep city narrow and hit them on the break . They were simply better than us though . We didn’t take our chance/(s) and it was inevitable city would score . We managed to hold them off for 45 mins at the Etihad which was brilliant but the likelihood of being able to do that for 90 mins was always very slim. However, it was the only approach that gave us a chance of winning , so I can’t disagree with it .

In the second half we attempted for the first 10 mins or so to take the game to city . Again, we had to do this to make a game of it . Again we weren’t clinical and didn’t make the most of opportunities and then inevitably we got picked off . I know we did collapse after 3-0 but at that point you’re f@cked either way as if you go for damage limitation then there would inevitably be more criticism for that . City were superior to us, end of . They could easily have smashed Man Utd it Chelsea 6-0 they are that good . I am still gutted at that result big I accept we are nowhere near city in terms of quality .

People might point to wolves or Brighton getting better results vs city . Brighton have a better defence than us no doubt . As do wolves and wolves have more clinical finishers . I hope in the transfer market we can strengthen those areas this summer, as we badly need to!

Our net spend was -16m in the summer, the Wolves figure was 40m plus £32m for Jimenez.

The funny thing about this post is it’s painfully obvious that you don’t believe a word of it.

I see you mate. You might be wearing a **** wrestling mask. But I see behind it.

Deeney called one player a loser. It was part of a broader interview that needs context. He’s very good friends with Carl Ikeme who is a hero up your way - maybe you should ask him about Deeney’s character? Or perhaps look at your own fans neanderthal racist outbursts towards Deeney after the game. Because that’s what’s disgusting. That’s what’s unforgivable.

While your quoting what’s ‘embarrasing’, how about losing twice to Huddersfield? Or being 2-0 up (against a team that lost the final 6-0!) and still throwing the game away on your big day? Time to pipe down my friend.

Enjoy playing FC Sarajevo in July. A city that was bombed to hell and is still a far prettier sight than Wolverhampton.

To put it in context, in 1879 we didn't even have a Man City to absolutely spank us in front of a worldwide audience of hundreds of millions.

Losing 6-0 had nothing to do with Gomes in goal and far more to do with the mentality of some of the players in front of him.

Whilst their quality throughout the squad is clear, it could be argued that City did play some ‘reserves’ - their best team on passer doesn’t have Gundogan or Jesus in it.

I will only hate you when you let Liverpool win the league.

This season will always be viewed as one of the most humiliating in our history unfortunately. There is no pride is being on the receiving end of a world record thrashing.

I get on with you as fellow forum member these days. But I said some things once and they caused you to leave the forum. So it’s ironic that you now accuse someone else of running away saying unfair...

Your replies to Malteser are harsh and unnecessary. You may not care, why should you. It’s a fan’s forum and you’ll never likely meet anyone off here. But you’re claiming to see the character of someone you don’t know. You’re making it personal and that’s just silly.

It's an opinion, so is true in the opinion of the poster.

Personally, I think Gracia's done an unbelievable job with only a Premier League midfield to choose from. He has created a team from mainly Championship players, certainly in terms of defenders and strikers.

Under the wrong coach we could easily be relegated, as these bad runs in which we characteristically end the season, could occur at the beginning and there will be no way to pull out of it. He created a togetherness throughout the entire campaign which the players believed in. For some reason it has eroded since the semi final. Why that always happens is another debate entirely, but it makes me distrust this group of players fully. This is why we are always touted as relegation favourites by the media.

I expect the same will happen next season.

We do need to now move on from this group somewhat and invest in key positions. IMO, it's the only way we can break away from this never ending cycle of boom and bust.
