Absolutely spot on. Antonio's winning of the penalty wasn't much better either. Can only assume he'd been on the 'phone to Bournemouth to order a couple of spare pairs of Dunlop Green Flash.

Looks as if Holebas has won his appeal and can play!

For kicking the ball away and then gobbing off at the lino.

Good news. Our chances of winning remain at about 10 percent, but would have been about 2 percent with Masina

    Common sense prevails.

I said on the Shouty after seeing the replays that I wasn't convinced it was a foul. It reminded me of Knockaert's penalty.

Also means he won't be suspended for the start of next season. Which seems a long way off now but I'm sure we'll be glad of this in August.

I would suggest that the appeal is rejected 9 times out of 10 if the game he was suspended for wasn't the cup final. Imagine being on that panel and saying "nah, let the c*** miss the final".

The FA will still screw us with a dodgy VAR or 8 minutes injury time. (In the remote chance they need to).

Man City will be fuming if he get 3 assists and curls in a last minute free kick winner.

Don't be as soft as the referee. They are a team. Dreadful decisions were made throughout that game. Antonio and the rest of the West Ham team cheated throughout the match with diving and other theatrics. They took advantage of a weak referee. Not fit to officiate at Premier League level if they are fooled so repeatedly.

So with VAR that decision would have been rescinded during the match I guess?

Going to bring a lot of change to the game I can see and maybe less cheating/trying to get players sent off.

Bet we still manage to be on the wrong end though!

Gray will probably be slightly offside in the 90th minute against Southampton or someone first game next season!

The last paragraph is a telling one.

"Kavanagh, who did not even blow for a foul until Cook's intervention, is believed to have reviewed the incident immediately after the game and agreed that Holebas…..did not cause Antonio to fall so readily".

HOPEFULLY next season a decision like that would be checked by VAR before a sending off is confirmed. Not saying it was the sole reason for the defeat (sh1te defending on the first two goals was the prime reason), but with us just having pulled it back to 1-2 we may have got something out of it with a full team.

To be fair, if any team deserves a break against us in recent years it’s Southampton.

Very much so. We were already getting well on top and even though we had a great chance shortly after the red card it clearly knocked us back.

Plus Holebas is pretty much one of our only attacking threats!

Maybe a mystery parcel containing odd bondage jodhpurs or similar sweetened the deal.

Got to play to your strengths.

    Shhhh.

Doesn’t fit the narrative of blaming a referee that was claimed to be one of the ‘good ones’ just a few weeks before.

I agree with the points. But you do your own argument a disservice at times. Just a few weeks ago you said Kavanaugh was one of the goods ones. Now he’s not fit to referee in the PL and is a cheat?

Exactly. I mentioned this in a previous post. I thought he was decent, but he has proved otherwise.

You cannot really call someone on points made before an event has occurred.

I’ve not called him a cheat. Antonio and the other West sham players deliberately cheated. Kavanagh was just weak and easily fooled by their diving.
