Well Everton and Leicester are on Sky so they were probably trying to build them up and Wolves have been this season's Bournemouth.

Most of the pundits think we have one eye on the cup final and won't bother really trying in the next 2 games (might well be right to an extent)

Wolves have been this season’s Burnley.
Watford have been this season’s Bournemouth.
Bournemouth have been this season’s Watford.
Leicester and Everton are pretty much the same as last season.
Liverpool have been this year’s Man Utd.
Man Utd have been Arsenal and Chelsea have become Liverpool.
    Burnley have done a Brighton.
    Brighton have the moccasin slippers.

No Arsenal are a team who need to stock up on snickers bars. They need to 'get some nuts'.

Going by Twitter some of their fans were surprised by that too!

MOTD cutting between the Citeh & Pool matches.

    Breathless, ‘as it happened’ stuff.

Next week they'll be cutting between the goal City are attacking and images of Ederson in a hammock at the other end.

"What's this? Ederson's found a penny in his 6yd box and has now walked off the pitch entirely to go and return it to the grounds staff. What a hero!"

Ederson could go ‘Blue Peter garden’ & turn his 6 yard box into an allotment.

Dreadful commentary, reasonable summing up. And when will we get a decent lino? Sian Massey is there for box ticking reasons, hopelessly behind play with second goal.

Nothing wrong with it though - apart from our defending .

The other assistant was the one who got Holebas sent off .

Seen the MotD coverage, which was dreadful as usual.

The woman doing the commentary.....seriously bad. It's like someone doing commentary after winning a prize. No emotion in the voice. Really amateurish.

Red card was an extremely soft decision, but one we regularly are on the end of. No chance of it being rescinded either. Contact was made and it's Watford, so that's that.

The first two goals, well Kabasele, that's you out of the final, and maybe out of Watford. Pathetic defending from him. Acts like a fairly for the first one, then just stands and watches the second come off the bar, where Lanzini follows it and scores a simple goal.

Didn't show the disallowed Deulofeuo goal, or the Gray foul. It was all West Ham attacks, even though that wasn't the real story of the game. The penalty to them was just Kiko falling into Antonio and of course he makes a meal of it.

Really poor officiating from the referee and linesman/women today, but nothing will get done whilst we suffer as a side.

We defended badly, but were let down again by inept officials. But who cares.....the bigger team won, and that's all that matters in the Premier League. It's all about ratings you know.

They helpfully included 15 minutes worth of footage of Liverpool or Manchester City fans looking pink faced and wearing cheap sunglasses. It really added something to their coverage.....

Plenty of bad commentary, I think MOTD were well into their B team with 10 games on at the same time.

Commentary in general is getting worse, especially live games. I’m looking at you BT’s Darren Fletcher. Constantly nattering about nothing, almost trying to sell the idea of football to people who’ve already paid a subscription to watch the bloody thing.

As usual Clough talks a lot of sense. Much of what he says applies to the terrible coverage we have today. We don't even have the quality of commentators like Barry Davies to compensate. Instead we have inane verbiage and screeching ad nauseam.

They really need to scrap the current format and return it to the old one. One presenter introducing the matches. Ten minutes of more in depth coverage of each game. It would also save a fairly decent amount of money. Not the sums needed for the BBC but why an earth the license fee payer needs to subsidize the inane comments from some of the presenters and pundits is beyond me.

Two defeats in a row was our line. This must have required a lot of editorial input.

Think our match was the shortest punditry ever!

They only talked about a couple of decent runs by Bernard and that was it.

The trouble is the BBC are terrified of the coverage provided by Sky and BT of the Premier League. So to keep clinging on to their niche they feel they have to show highlights of every game and give ‘analysis’ of them all, shoehorning it into a 90 minute programme. This is pointless because we all have access to goal highlights and a bit more long before MotD comes on and their edits provide little more than that, even for the supposed ‘big’ games.

    Excellent point.

Also, don’t forget the grip of the leering satyr on the Beeb. Without MOTD in this format, it would be pretty difficult for him to have a platform there.

Disappointing that we didn't even merit one of lineker's "also played" salty one liner wisecracks before they moved on to the next game.

  29. Last on tonight. Barely a mention other than their goal should have been disallowed for handball.

    Probably for the best.

We truly are the most boring football team, probably ever. That's why they only have a few bullet points to say each game:-

    Manager changes
    Deulofeu shows glimpses of brilliance
    Troy Deeney
    Elton John

That's also why according to Sky, we don't deserve more than one live game this season.

In other media have said will Gracia go etc - then saying ofcourse the Pozzos are quick to sack managers etc so like you and GD probably nothing different to usual .

I doubt we'd even be talked about in the Championship that much !!

Yes, we are boring at the moment. We only have Deeney with interesting things to say publicly beyond football cliché platitudes. And, that sometimes gets him in trouble. We have a manager who is dull and never says anything that seems to show any insight. Our style of play has become predictable...

Probably just as well. Getting us used to life in the Championship next season when the highlights are on a channel I didn’t even know existed until last season.

We were on first last night and for once I couldnt disagree with what the pundits had to say about our performance, also Gary Cahill is a robot.
