Thanks for coming on here "in peace" to moan about our team. Appreciate it.

Before you start whinging about antics in the semi final, you might want to reflect on your players repeatedly kicking the ball away and going down "injured" yesterday.

Interestingly I was hoping you would reply as we both have something in common, I graduated from UEA a couple of years ago and regularly go back to see some friends in the area. Lovely city, great university, miss those days. Anyway I seem to remember one of your prayers rolling around by the corner flash whilst we were waiting to take the corner after realising he wasn't getting anything for it promptly got up and carried on. With regards to Jimenez he scored a brilliant goal, on a big occasion, just after signing for the club and celebrates in a traditional way. I'm not going to resort to the Troy 'whatever I can think of' deeney things as it's immature, but I personally wouldn't be supportive of a wolves player making those comments after winning any game left alone a semi final.

Every team kicks the ball away, and going down "injured" I'm assuming you're referring to Jota after being taken down in the penalty area? I think most of us wouldn't have got up straight au from that. It's a bit different to lying down to stop a corner being taken.

Anyway you deservedly beat us at Moloneux earlier in the season and I feel we deservedly beat you yesterday. The semi-final we dominated for the most part but got away from us at the end, was Deeney looking for the penalty, probably. Were your players timewasting in the semi-final, definitely. I completely understand why and we see teams do it all the time but it doesn't mean that it doesn't annoy the opposition fans, for me personally I disagree with it and think the time should be added on at end.

Over a decade ago for me. I’ve only been back to Naaarch a couple of times since - nice place, too far from everywhere else to stay there though.

I’m pretty sure the player you’re referring to is Deulofeu. And as I say, he went off injured and then missed the next league match 8 days later with the injury. We can all whine about players these days rolling around but everyone does it. It’s up to referees to add time on properly for it.

Deeney says a lot and some of it is counter-productive for sure. His comments about whacking Arsenal players being the latest to come back and bite him. But on that day he was shown images of Jimenez celebrating in his mask in an interview and asked what he thought of it. He answered honestly, as he always seems to rather than rolling out bland cliches, and also went on to unambiguously praise Jimenez as a player - although of course that bit didn’t make the headlines. The Wolves community have spent the time since whining about it, as if wearing a mask like that is totally normal and beyond question or ridicule.

A Mexican scored the first goal of our current PL stint back in 2015. Don’t remember him ever showing any interest in the mask stuff. Google ‘wrestling mask football celebration’ and its nearly all images of Jimenez at Wembley. It isn’t as if it happens every week in the Mexican top flight!

We're in England not Mexico. It was a cocky celebration designed to show a lack of respect, which of course your fans lapped up. The only thing you didn't like was Deeney calling you on it, plus it spectacularly backfired. Your team ended up as losers and someone gave you a little bit of it back. This is what you don't like.

Well, if you give it out you have to expect to get back. But, your fans are like many in the Premier League. You all think you're something a little bit special. Some humility goes a long way. Your fans need to learn that lesson.

Welcome! Lot to get through there lol, but I'll try
    a) You have had an amazing season, surprised to hear you'd have settled for as low as 14th (even if it's your season back), as I always thought you'd be solid top half side. You have an amazing starting XI though I give you tons of credit for enduring the season with a lack of options in reserve, in all likelihood, 7th is where you'll end up and that's as good as anyone outside the big teams can do
    b) Trying my best not too be biased here, but it was a pen in my view, I don't really see how Dendoncker has much cause for complaint there, you'd have been calling for that if it were up the other end
    c) Ditto, we wouldn't have much cause for complaint if you'd have been given a penalty there
    d) I'm sure much of that was natural anyway given it was a draining 120 minutes near the end of a long hard season. That said, it's a normal part of the game these days, I'm sure most Wolves fans wouldn't have batted an eyelid at it had the boot been on the other foot. Not within the spirit of the game maybe, but definitely not in the same category as a blatant dive a la Knockaert
    e) Deeney says what he wants, and for that he should be applauded, though I did cringe at those particular comments in the aftermath of all the madness. Wouldn't have done celebration if I were Jimenez tbf, should wait for the game to be won for things like that (no expert on Mexico tbf, but meh), but it was always going to fuel a bit of a sense of vengeance among your lot. ****, even Arsenal decided to show some semblance of 'cojones' against us! (I know we shot ourselves in the foot rather than them actively winning it, but my God they've been awful away from home of late). Obviously doesn't mean abuse, especially of a racial kind, is OK, anyone who thinks that is a moron, though I'm sure it is indeed a minority (a lot of the Deeney abuse has come from Mexico as well in fairness to you guys)
    f) Never felt confident about this game, Deeney is even more crucial than I'm sure even a lot of us thought a few games ago
    g) Gonna be weird atmosphere in future games between us lol, we've had our best and worst moments of the season against each other. In the absence of an actual rivalry, we've had a few faux ones (which are fading away) with the likes of Palace, Everton and Bournemouth in the past few years, though I can't see the same happening with us two, not from me personally anyway
    h) Well, until it's mathematically impossible for us to get 7th, I suppose I can't wish you well for the rest of the season haha! If we don't win the cup, it would be hard watching you guys in Europe to be honest if you do seal 7th, but we have nobody else to blame but ourselves, so aside from the bitterness I'll feel, I won't wish you any ill in Europe

  9. 1. Our season isn’t great, an end of season collapse isn’t great. You deserve 7th you’re having a great season. We’re having the usual collapse, albeit some months later than normal.

    2. So you think VAR is faulty then? You think a ref watching multiple angle slo-mo replays was fooled by a dive?

    3. You don’t think a player putting a **** mask on and prancing around like a sex slave is disrespectful to the game? You do know it’s illegal to cover your face right? Go read up the FIFA Rules of the Game then come back and discuss. He was lucky to stay on. And no it’s not normal in Mexico at all FIFA rules apply. Neymar was sent off for it once.

I didn’t realise about covering your face.

Otherwise, I would have suggested that Troy should wear a mask.

    On purely aesthetic grounds.

Wolves have had an amazing season, and it has only cost about £300-£400 million to be within a hairs width of confirming 7th place. So all in all in a much deserved reward for an excellent coach squeezing the very last bit out of the squad, and emulating Burnleys success last year. Getting into Europe would match the achievement of former Watford Manager Bill McGary who took Wolves to the finals of the old UEFA cup. Of course Wolves had a solid foundation on which to build this current success, after going bankrupt in 1986, the club has gradually rebuilt itself and bought back the ground from the council and redeveloped the stadium. They have a great history having first won the FA Cup in 1893; but in the last 40 years have spent more time out of the top two divisions than Watford. So you got to say that of the two clubs and teams Watford really have punched above their weight. And of course Watford is a small provincial town, only able to support a couple of department stores like Debenhams, and a corresponding smaller commercial sector and population for the club to build support with. Next year will be interesting to see how Watford cope if their best players are snatched away by bigger teams. Can they survive a change if the head coaches move on. All in all it will be interesting to see how the two clubs move forward.

Haha, how can a fan "come in peace" and then launch into a rant against us?

As for a bit of wasting time in the last few minutes of a semi final by a team in front, well, that must really be a first.

I wonder how many of the Wolves fans giving it the big 'un after the match were watching when they were really good in 1959-60.

Wolves are traditionally the second biggest club in the West Midlands, whereas Watford have always been the biggest club in football-crazy Herts

Looking at Wolves' transfer spending, they've spent £182m in since 2016 on incoming transfers. During the same period we've spent £170m, so it's comparable. However, Wolves were in the Championship for two of those seasons.

How wierd was it when they sang about empty seats at Wembley....

    Or about empty seats yesterday....

I've been to Wolves away and never seen a full stadium. In 2013 they had a whole top tier empty and unused. Its another club that appears to forget fact when going for gloating rights.

That really gets my goat. Why do people born in the 90's and naughties seem to think that football played 30 or 40 years before they were born gives them any right to brag, and put other teams down. Statistically we have been far more successful than they have of late. Huddersfield have a fantastic history, but you don't hear their fans going on like a bunch of over entitled toddlers.

    You flatter them!

WBA have been a much more significant club over the last 50 years.

Even Birmingham have the kudos of being the big city team.

We’ve seen something of this inferiority complex in our recent encounters.

Def bigger than Walsall & Telford, though.

These are my first thoughts on yesterday's match,
    Disappointed with the result,
    Happy with the season,
50 points with three games to go is not to be sniffed at!
There will always be results we don't like
To put it in prospective I would
Rather lose to Wolves than Yeovil (that match wasn't long ago), they will be non-league next season
Plus a Cup Final still to come!
Rome wasn't built in a day
We have made real progress this season!

Just realised. Our match with Chelsea is not until Sunday. We'll know in advance if the game is a dead rubber or do we still have something to play for.

If…..and I know it's a big/huge IF, Wolves fail to beat Fulham, then it's game on again.

I've always believed 56 points will be enough to get 7th. Obviously if Wolves win, then we're out of it, but...…..a draw or defeat will open the door for us once more.

You often get some freak results towards the end of the season but it does seem like we are most likely to finish 10th or 11th given current form. Disappointing but i dare say some players heads have been somewhat turned by the cup run (similar to certain players/managers last season!)
I mentioned on here before that our second best ever league finish was 11th place, so i'm kinda hoping we can at least better that. Added to this it's better to qualify for Europe via the FA Cup anyway!

Weird to moan about time wasting from a team winning an important game, EVERY team does it, even in games with far less importance.

Weirder still to moan about a team time wasting towards the end of 120 minutes of football, the players would’ve been dying on their arses.

Even weirder still to moan about it when the reason you lost the game in the first place is because you took your three best attacking players off and decided to try and shut up shop.
