Thought this was interesting. Some of the relics of the past. Won't state the obvious & somewhat painful stat.

All together now: We're the 46th greatest team the world has ever seen.

And a lot greater than Bournemouth or those northern bastards at Glossop

Should those perennially struggling hijackers MK Dons really be included in this list?

Glossop are the epitome of tin pot.

We'll be 41st by the time I move up to the terraces in the sky.

Was surprised at Boltons overall standing, especially when you consider what's happening to them now. They were once powerhouses.

Glossop North End, Darwen, Accrington and Bradford Park Avenue!! Seriously??

I'm actually staggered to see clubs like Bury, Grimsby, Oldham, MK Dons and Bradford City have all played more top flight games than us.

    MK Dons - or Wimbledon?

Well.....it's going to be Wimbledon, even though it's listed as MK Dons. I thought we'd have played more games than them by now in the top flight. That has surprised me.

Mind you, if we get 42 points (or more) next season, we'll go above Bradford, Grimsby and Oldham into 43rd position.....yippee

  10. Are Bolton Wanderers still a thing?

Wimbledon. They were originally founded in 1889 this table illustrates MK Dons being their current iteration of the former club.

About 5 more seasons until we can surpass that lot from up the road.

Very interesting table with many teams above us not currently in the PL we have a chance of making some headway in the next few years (fingers crossed).

Would be interesting to see the table based on the last 37 years, i.e. When we first hit the big time!

    Well you say that.

2nd place in Div 3 was almost exactly where we stood when I first attended the Vic in 1969.

50 years & goodness knows how much money & how many decibels later and that’s where we still stand.

Assuming Liverpool don’t get another point, we’ll be ahead of them in around 120 years.

It’s like looking out the cosmos & realising how microscopically small you are.

On a more uptempo note, we will, around November, be on top of our own mini league of Ford teams.

Eerily, we have exactly the same number of wins as Bradford City & exactly twice as many as Brentford.

Makes one realise how much better we do under Conservative governments.

True, but nationalists know that England only win the World Cup under Labour. And Scotland have never won it under the SNP.

Yes but we have almost 200 games in hand and a better goal difference. We WILL catch them but could be tricky fitting the fixtures in what with this cup. Season may need to be extended.

MK Dons should not be on that list, they've never even played in the top 2 divisions, should be Wimbledon FC if anybody

Unfortunately technically MK Dons are the old Wimbledon and won the FA cup under their old name and location. We can't airbrush out of history that whole sordid episdode, no matter how much we might want to.
Must never be allowed to happen again.

    Because that's not the point.
How would you feel if a new owner of our club got us into financial difficulty. A Helmet like character saw an opportunity to relocate us to somewhere with a better catchment area in which he could make money and bought the club. Then pleaded that he'd have to close the club down unless it relocated to a Bedford, Leamington Spa, Lancaster, etc and the FA allow it ? Ok it will never happen to someone like us, but is a real risk for a Bury, Forest Green type club who have very limited potential where they are. It shouldn't be used as a quick way to get an area with a good catchment into the second tier of English football while killing an old established club. While we may have lost a few fans to them, the only good news is it probably hit L**** far more than us.

So based on this table and the general, we have big following and big history, Aston Villa have more claims to a European breakaway league than Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham. You know, if it was not all about some greedy ****ers buying a club and then wanting to destroy 130 odd years of history so they can make even more money.

That is depressing. Its going to take years with even moderately successful seasons to catch even Luton and decades to get into a top 20.

Can we have the stats for teams that come out to Z-Cars and they're results when they do'nt?

I'd care if it was us, but I wouldn't expect anyone else to. And I certainly wouldnt expect anyone to hold a grudge about it for years.

They officially renounced all of the original Wimbledon's history a few years after the move to MK, I think they gave the Cup memorabilia and other things to the local council

Wimbledon had 14 years in the top flight FWIW, and I think had more top flight seasons with 22 teams in the league rather than 20

It will take generations to get close to the top 20.

As loyal fans, all I can suggest is that we start breeding.
