Took longer than usual for the second half season slump to kick in.

    But here we are.

Gutted we are effectively out of 7th now.

Again I thought we played really well - excellent football match first half was beautifully poised.

Pereyra shirking a challenge allowed them to score the first goal, there's no excuse for it anymore it was pathetic.

The switch to three at the back wasn't the right move. We were well on top, Javi got it wrong, he's allowed to.

I thought Femenia was getting bullied by Jota far too often, I would've moved him forward and put Janmaat right back.

Isaac Success is just a useless sub. Surely bringing on Chalobah to play alongside Doucs and Capoue can have just as much impact?

Three stupid goals conceded three home games in a row. Aubameyang, Long and whoever scored today. Foster needs to do better but the whole team was confused for a bit after that change.

Wolves fought better, outmuscled us, we didn't even jump for some challenges, very frustrating. A point would've been fair though.

    I think we'll beat Chelsea.

    Capoue POTS 100%.

Very very strange decision from Gracia to take Hughes off and go to a back 3/5...we looked well on top before that then it all fell apart. Instantly reverted back to a back 4 after that but Kabasele is so sloppy it wasn't working.

Ah well - good season and still got the final to look forward to. 'Orns!

Can't beat Southampton or Wolves at home. Thinks we'll beat Chelsea, West Ham and Man City.

    Madness.

I returned to the wrong seat for the 2nd half, I was one row in front, I blamed fatigue and wine, the man was understanding. A draw would have been a fair result. Deffo missing a unit up front if we want to play it direct to start the attacks. Felt a bit flaccid...

Fair enough. You reckon you'll still think that in case we're 2 goals down inside the first 20 minutes?

The only mitigating factor I can think of is that at least we'll have Gomes back for the cup.

Can we just have Z Cars back, or if we have to stick to 'I'm still standing', can they play the song from the start instead of that abomination of an edit they've knocked up?

Really disappointing past 2 results which means everything now comes down to May 18th - perhaps players have already got one eye on it. Anyway we need them to perform a miracle performance

Wolves fan's reminiscent of a League 2 team beating a Prem team in the 3rd Round of the cup. The bitterness after Wembley so evident.

Walking with my 10 and 11 year old past the away end to an unprompted wall of hand gestures and abuse hurled at them, obviously holding the kids personally responsible for Wolves throwing 2-0 lead.

The big question though was, was why so many bootcut jeans? All that money saved for a Stone Island jacket and you put it with them. Orthodontists in short supply in the Black Country as well.

The whole thing was surreal. Easy to make a joke about it, but it really seemed to be their cup final.

We're gonna ******* beat a top 6 side now right when it'll mean nothing! Hope we stay in the top half now, and then onto the cup. Gonna ******* savour it because who knows when anything as exciting will happen again!

Also, Kabasele was behind the rest of the defence for the goal, allowed Jota to get in get in front of Femenia without being offside. We were settled as a back four and Hughes was playing well. No idea why Javi rolled the dice. Still, like you say, massively in credit for the season.

Keep hearing Pererya looks uninterested. Sounds like we need to cash in. Javi would be well served to remind him there's an FA Cup final place up for grabs. Not convinced he should be in the team atm.

Why? Wolves have been awful against teams outside the top 6. Fulham have put in some amazing performances recently and are playing with zero pressure. There is no reason they can’t dent wolves’ hopes of 7th by taking all three points or a point. Likewise we have beaten Chelsea on more than one occasion in recent years, so we can do it again.

We will know if it’s 100% over by 5pm next Saturday. Until then, anything can happen in football.

If Fulham do manage to take something against wolves then our boys will be fired up the next day against Chelsea.

    Evening everybody.

I’ve not posted on here for a while because quite frankly after being so totally and hopelessly wrong about Gracia, I feel my views carry little weight or worth.

However, this evening I would like to contribute a few words.

Like everybody else I am disappointed that it seems we now won’t finish as ‘best of the rest’. I’d have liked that, even though I’d have probably been more nervous than most about the perils of playing European qualifying fixtures in July. It did for Burnley this season and Everton the year before.

    HOWEVER...

I believe that ever since we won the semi-final, the main focus of our season then totally became the Cup Final, subconsciously at least if not overtly obviously. The match on 18 May will be the biggest game in the careers so far of many of our players, and of many of us younger or middle aged fans too. A chance to make history. To win a trophy. To qualify for Europe by right, rather than sneaking in through the back door. And in August too! It’s totally natural our league form has tailed off a little and that players intensity and concentration has slipped by a few percent, leading to the individual errors we’ve seen of late. It happens year after year to smaller clubs who reach major finals. We are no different.

And for people who will say ‘oh yes but we had a greater chance of getting into Europe by finishing 7th, then seriously why not stay in bed on Cup Final Day?! We have a chance of lifting our first ever major trophy. Yes of course it’s going to be very very hard, against one of the best teams in living memory. But we still have a chance. All the pressure is on Man City, not us. We can go there and play the game rather than the occasion. And who knows what may happen. Its not as if we aren’t used to surprising people as underdogs is it? Let’s do so again. Then this really will be a season to remember for all time.

So yes, I refuse to feel too downhearted tonight, because I believe the greatest day of our season is yet to come.

Not bad for a person so depressed about our prospects back in August really eh!

I do find it hard to think about dropping Pereyra though. Always feels like he might do something special even if having a completely ineffective game.

Not finishing 7th has done us a favour. It would be classic Watford to struggle with the league and Europe next season, get relegated and have to play those mutants up the road, or worse, not play them and see them get promotion to the Prem.

Big laugh out to the ‘lads’ who lacked control and got biffed out of the SEJ after 5 or 10 minutes.

Fancy getting that wound up by opposition fans!

Can I just ask that when our fans travel away that they don’t give the birdy or vvanker signs to the home club’s mascot.

Seeing 40-50 year old wolves fans doing that to Harry made me think how pathetic it looks.

Femenia on the right, Deulofeu on the left or vice versa. Janmaat and Holebas wing-backs, would be more solid IMO

Wish you were right. but we have NO chance of winning the FA cup against man city. It's delusional to think otherwise.

Can Javi just practise the Heimlich manoeuvre next week in training please.

Wolves fans are just utter c***s. Worst in the league. All the gloating and celebrating European qualification.

We need a striker. We need a central defender.

    League season over.

    Bring back Z-Cars

    Roll on May 18th.
