Like he's putting his own money in, hope Bolton have changed the safe combination.

Bolton relegated - good luck to them on and off the pitch!

    They might need it...

For the first time in his life, Bassini has kept a promise. He said he would take Bolton out of the Championship, and true to his word, today Bolton were relegated.

Well the FL it seems haven't approved the take over so goodness knows who is actually running that club!

What a choice. Adminstration or the helmet. Given they have a decent stadium and fan base I think administration might be the better option - someone would be interested in taking it over if the loans are written down. We are talking about Bolton here. take the points deduction for next season but avoid years of pain and deceit under the helmet.

My guess is now he's got control he will use this rouse to dig them deeper in the mire so he can justifiably go back to the shareholders to say its a priority they sell/develop the land & hotel around the stadium ASAP. Funds come into the club..& guess who controls the bank accounts.

There is no way he has the pockets to properly fund or run a football club, even in League 1.

On the 17th of April bassini said this: "Significant funds" will be made available to pay outstanding wages and long-term creditors".

I’d have more sympathy if they weren’t on quite a lot of money each week. Shouldnt they be/have saved some?

There can’t be a champ player on less than 10k a week say. Let’s quarter that to be sure 10k a month. How is not survivable. You get nurses on around double that a year

Edit: I see it’s on behalf of all the staff - fair enough

Just a reminder some people are very litigious. I mention no names. The forum doesn’t have any money to fight legal cases so be careful what you say and accuse people of

Bolton's match tomorrow officially postponed by the EFL. They're to be charged with misconduct.

Bassini did a bit of a car crash interview with Jim White on SSN this evening too:

Waving a shirt around as proof of his good intentions...

EDIT: the childish name change thing keeps screwing up links. But it's on the Sky Sports website.

Or there's a link in this post on a Bolton forum:

Haha that Bas interview is absolute car crash viewing.

I absolutely cannot believe he just used the "someone wanted to buy it from me at a huge profit already, but I turned it down" line again!

    Sue me.

Well I’m sure if you’re a Bolton fan, all your concerns can be forgotten. He will save your club. He turned down £20m profit today because of his love for the club. It must be such a relief to know that the guy buying your club does not come across as a bumbling oaf.

When they eventually get removed from L1, we should all change our avatars to the red helmet picture for 24 hours in solidarity for Bolton Football Club.

The players can now exercise their right and give 14 days notice of termination of contract and then if still not paid leave on free transfers! The first player to do this is Pawel Olkowiski their Polish fullback, others will probably follow.

It is a terrible situation for the fans of BWFC and a lesson to all, it wasn't that long ago they were in the Premier League!

A dreadful situation for Bolton fans. Baz isn't even the owner yet, hen he is things won't improve for them. If he pulled out of the deal (or rather his backers did) what then? Administration or winding up? Bills and wages keep getting delayed hence the strike today, a grim future ahead I think, I honestly wouldn't wish this on any club.

I don't think he has been continually believed. I think fans and the press have seen through the charade from the start. I feel sorry for the fans and those at the club who believed their wages might be paid and jobs saved.
