Yea, all hope is not lost just yet for sure! I also noticed the three friends I attend with every season are also Cat C so I hope that 22,000 is inflated by people like them.

I'll also make sure I'm 'working from home' the day they go on sale.

Btw anyone on here in the South Coast Hornets group?

I'm slightly confused about my group. I'm a cat B for buying home tickets but nothing for away. I gather therefore that I'm in the the last group for a ticket. It appears that you need cat D away to be in a higher group?

Well technically NI is overseas, or at least over one sea !
Would ROI be any different ? If so why ?

I read the Home and Away categories as being separate, rather than together - i.e. if you are Home Group B, that is enough - your Away category is irrelevant. I am Home Group B, but only Away Group D but am assuming I'm Cup Final Group B.
It is entirely possible that I have completely misinterpreted this, though - in which case, apologies.

Can someone bring a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea to WGC on Tuesday at approximately 1.45ppm please?

If you're Cat B for home tickets you'll be in Cup Final Group B.

That's a joke, how can someone from NI who never attends games be able to enter the draw and you can't because you do get over, that make no sense?

I'd try again for the draw if I were you, surely they must realise how ridiculous that condition is, absolutely crazy o_O

Wouldn't it be better if Cat C tickets went to a ballot rather than an internet free for all?

I'm Cat A by the way so no self interest

Get your mum/brother/cousin/milkman to apply... Bobs your uncle and hes won the ballot.

  14. At least you got an answer - I got an automated response telling me that he would reply when ticket sales commenced.

I don't suppose that my plea of having spent nearly four decades in Australia and now temporarily living in Scotland will qualify me for the overseas ballot though - even without a ticket-buying history.

It was perfectly fine for someone wanting to get closer to the action (I learnt my lesson after in 2016 I was up in block 501 on the halfway line just a few metres from the Palace fans - I wouldn't recommend that section to even Luton fans!) - good sweeping view of the pitch, players not too small at the opposite end, and a pretty clear view of the Wolves fans opposite. You don't get that all-round view from higher up where you can see basically everything without having to crane your neck, but that's a small sacrifice to make to be part of a great atmosphere and the greatest Watford game I've ever been to (and that includes Cardiff 2006 and Emirates 2016).

You should try and get within rows 10-14 though, beyond that would be a bit close imo.

I think there will be many waiting for cat C to sit with family and friends, my old man is a ST holder, I’m cat B and my son is annoyingly Cat C on 9 games, we will all have to wait until Cat C opens to buy together........ if I can get the day off work!

All of this brings back memories of '84 when queueing down occupation road and into the allotments. What started out as a thin line of people swelled when each person in the line was 'saving a place' for about 10 others. I seem to remember that Watford initialy was going to allow selling 4 tickets to each person but changed this very early to one or two (my memory could be playing tricks on me on that point).
Either way, it took about 3 or 4 hours to move a hundred yards. Those were the days! Many parellels to today even though we are digital! :)

Well if I luckily win overseas tickets I will only be using one of them. So I will offer this to an overseas fan too. Hopefully all of the others who only need one will take us into consideration. Fingers crossed

If your son buys a home ticket before they run the categories again he will have 10 games and become cat b. You can then get the tickets on the second wave. I think I read that they r reseting them on the 16th. So have a couple of days.

Damn that was the one thing that I was afraid of hearing. I live on the west coast of the US and come home for three to four matches a season. I was just back for Cardiff away and Leicester home games and only a family bereavement stopped me from using the Liverpool away ticket I bought. Also came back for GT statue unveiling. I spend a small fortune on seeing Watford a few times a season and have done for decades.

I’ll be gutted if I can’t use the ballot. The alternative is Cat C and getting on my computer at 1am for god knows how many hours all night.

Really hope I haven’t wasted a flight and hotels to watch it in a pub.

Indeed. Good luck to all those glory hunters who haven't been to a game for a years because they couldn't be bothered in getting a undeserved ticket over someone like Norniron who goes whenever he can. Luckily they'll see us smashed 5-0 and never go again.

  26. I'd buy your 2 when cat B opens, and get your son's extra (if you can) when it goes on to cat C somewhere near your seats. It was pretty much a free for all where we were so a small 9 year old should be able to stand or sit with you. At least your guaranteed the 2.

  27. Where do us smug group A category post?!

Yes I'm in SCH, but you still need to meet the requirements to book tickets. I ordered and paid for 4 all in Cat A but was turned down due to not all ids being in the group.
Will book together with 1881 instead.
Incidentally I'm not sure South Coast Hornets get a group booking, the groups down this way merged to become Southern Counties Hornets and I think we had about 160 in the group booking for the Semi.

Question about the overseas ticket ballot (not me). Are they for people who are on the club database? If not what’s the point?

It is really not that hard to hit cat B in a season if your in commutable distance,

I am A "New" fan as such first game was Chelsea away in October 2017, a mate invited me and i was blown away by watford and their fans at the time even though they lost (i was generally a neutral football fan then, family of Londoners but they all support man u and i cannot get behind that) so after that game i knew watford were the club for me been going when i can ever since cup, away, home, pre season but i average a game every 6 weeks due to work and after a year and a half im two matches away from cat A

Much much harder to build up they away notches and on occasion i have had to buy awful memberships plus a ticket to sit and watch the game with the enemy

I am hoping to get a £45 or £75 seat for the final as money is tight this month and i would also like to get watford v west ham ticket and Chelsea away if eligible so that'd be another £36-76 without the fa cup ticket

  31. Well when you express interest, you're asked to supply a fan ID if you have one. I don't know how they intend to select who gets one & who doesn't, but I'd like to think that applicants would be sorted into two piles - those with a fan ID and those without & preference given to the former.

Hi. Sorry - I meant Southern Counties Hornets. My sister and I are both registered with the group, although we tend to get tickets independently as we like to choose where we sit. Still need to decide what to do for the final - have 24 hours to make a decision!
