Which block were you; 528 row 1 what was odd was we was in seats 49 and 50 that on the select your tick were the first 2 in the row from the steps but there was a seat 48 that was empty the whole game

Atmosphere where you were; Very good also got a feel for the atmosphere as a whole
Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets); Pretty good bunch family's and real fans a couple did leave on 75 Mins
Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them; Not that close but thought as a whole they were very quiet apart from after their 2 goals to pinch a phrase from Place we bossed the atmosphere and laid the ghost of 2016 once and for all
Would you happily sit there again for the final; yes great view from were was sitting

Bloody hell. How the other half lives. Must be hell for wolfs having to spend time with fellow supporters like that. We are so middle class.....

 

I would think that it will be only those that can afford the very best quality coke who will be able to afford to buy tickets.

 

Which block were you: 534, 6 rows from the front. I was in line with the drummers below, parallel to the pitch. It was steep and the gangway was very narrow, leading to slow queues to/from seats as elderly/vertigo-sufferers clung on to the rails for dear life as they moved up/down.

Price of ticket: £45. After paying top prices in '13 and '16 I didn't fancy paying £80 for potential huge disappointment again! The view was better than I remember (I saw the first NFL match from up in the gods a few years ago)

Atmosphere where you were: Surprisingly pretty good. The drummers' noise and the 1881 chants were audible and many in 534 joined in.

Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets): Similar to the SEJ I thought, where I sit now after many years in the Rookery. A few near the front were told to 'siddaaaahhn' a few times, which they did. One at the front stood up, turned around and provocatively chanted 'Stand up, if you love the 'orns' and no-one did, which was quite amusing. Had a family next to me, with a small fat kid shouting with that irritatingly squeaky voice that only small fat kids have. He kept accidentally poking me with his flag as well. But he knew all the songs, was clearly passionate for the 'orns and offered me a Fruitella, so he was alright!

Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them: A few blocks away. Good view of the lairy ones in the Club Wembley seats acting like morons. Thought their display was impressive, but ours with the moving flags was better. We leant about the Wembley atmosphere from the Palarse debacles, Wolves will do the same. Would love it if the huge Audentior flag came out for the final! Friendly enough fans, even after the match as I waited in the surprisingly quick-moving and not very long queue to get into Wembley Central. One pissed up Watford fan was chanting '2-0 and you ****ed it up' in the queue, but then apologised after he realised he was surrounded mostly by Wolves fans. That's our middle class fan base for you!

Would you happily sit there again for the final: Yes, but with the high cost of final tickets I expect a comfy armchair-type seat, free beer served on a silver tray whilst others fed me grapes and massaged my feet.

Worth the money: For the semi, yes. For the final, no. Unless we win of course

Ha, you never know. I don't mind the adult prices so much, but the concessions are a piss take.

 

We had a child like that behind us.

Did anyone sit in the allocated family areas (can't remember which block)? What was it like?

 

Block 529 2nd row from the very back of the stadium, cost £45.00, most of the people around me did not seem to know any of the songs and there were a lot of families with kids.

The view was OK but rather distant and it was difficult at times to tell who was who. When Holebas got injured I actually thought it was Doucoure (spelling?), and I thought the 2nd of the sitters Gray missed was Deeney.

It was the worst seat I have had in all our games at Wembley, I stood in 84 but that was in a good position, I was near the front behind the goal in the Bolton Play off final, and in the middle tiers for both Palace games. I still had a great day and I of course I would happily sit there again if it was the only place I could get a ticket, but hopefully I will be able to get a better seat for the final.

As for our other big games, I had a decent position at The Millennium PO Final against Leeds and also at my 4 other SF's at Villa Park, against Man U, Southampton, Spurs and the other one that we won against Plymouth Argyle, I did not make the Chelsea one, but as we conceded FIVE I'm kind of glad I didn't really

PS I also had a young boy sat next to me who had a very weak bladder, he got up at least 4 times during the game to go to the toilet

Block 134, Row 37 just the other side of the gangway to the concourse from the main 1881 posse/drummers.

Atmosphere was great. Although think the gap in fans over the gangway / exit to the concourse (despite it only being about 10 metres max) made it more difficult to keep in sync with the main 1881 posse. Very often caught in the middle of 2 (or more) different and loud chants, one coming from the left or behind and then the other from 1881. Wembley is SUCH a hard place to get an atmosphere going (so much unco-ordinated noise!) and this is mainly down to the Club Wembley level if you ask me - noise tends to travel vertically in foot6 grounds better than it travels horizontally around the ground - but thanks to Roy Moore we did brilliantly and I watched the whole game back again last night primarily to hear how our fans were. (I’d already watched the goals 50 times on highlights etc).
Also there Mosaic went half up then down and then up again for about 1 minute in total and yes it looked good but our flags were better and looked brilliant and definelty outdid them - ALOT of noise and ALOT of flags in the lead up to the game and it was bloody marvellous, fantastic atmosphere.

Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets): all seemed well up for singing, some were more boisterous and drunk than others, I.e a few older chaps and ladies and all were well up for bundles and big group hugs for every goal. No sign of any in-fighting or arguments with fellow fans despite lots of effing and jeffing and falling over.

Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them: The spineless ***** above us in Club Wembley were chucking bottles down on us - and I even heard reports of seats being thrown over and Watford fans being spat at. It happened weirdly when they went 1-0 and then 2-0 up, so unsure if it was actually instigated by some of our fans chucking things up but I doubt it - as a result there were a lot of riled Watford fans giving the stewards grief and telling them to sort out the ***** above. I did see one of our lot chucking some coins up in retaliation which wasn’t great.

Would you happily sit there again for the final: yes
Worth the money: borderline. I’m spoilt by The Vic where the fans are all so close to the pitch and I love being up close - If the game had been at The Vic I would’ve enjoyed it more!

On the subject of the co-ordination of atmosphere at Wembley, i.e. everyone singing the same thing, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is impossible once a stadium is above a certain size and different groups start doing their own thing. My guess is that the critical size is somewhere around 40,000, based on various stadiums I have visited. I’m interested to learn how well it works at the new Spurs ground, which seems to be the best design we’ve seen in this country.

 

Looking like I’ve managed to snag a ticket in Club Wembley for the final.

By all accounts, sounds like I’ll need to save up all the loose change I’ve got and start practicing my carpet bomb technique for any City plebs sat below.

No idea where it’s going to be, honestly. Don’t know anything beyond being told that I’m sorted for a ticket in there.

I guess if there’s Watford below me, I’ll use UK coins and aim only for half-half scarf toting knobs. At least then the poors downstairs can spend my loose change, and I won’t have wasted my time perfecting the coin-snipe technique.

If it’s City, I’ll go with US coins. It’ll be utterly worthless to them.

Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them Sounded really loud from where we were - may have been the foal point of the wembley acoustics. Had to get a train back the midlands with them and ended up having to wash blood off my clothes from 2 wolves fans battering each other. Charming.
Would you happily sit there again for the final I wouldn't be paying any more than the cheapest I can pay to be in the stadium
Worth the money. Of course. Also found a quid on the floor so that was 2 great things that happened Sunday.

Price of ticket- £40 something.

Atmosphere where you were-Could hear our fans clearly and some chanting around us.

Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets)- mostly families, a few day-trippers. Were a few muppets along from us, had to return to my seat via a different route due to fighting. Apparently some of our supporters accused others of being Wolves fans, or something? Also had a couple of our younger supporters accusing me of being 'a Wolf', for wearing....wait for it.... A GT shirt. They were quickly put in they're place!

Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them- A few blocks away. They were nothing special. They had a touch of the Leeds about them. Lots of angry middle-aged men. A few looking for trouble on the way back to Wembley Park.


Would you happily sit there again for the final- In a heartbeat.

Worth the money- Of course! Cracking day out.

Price of ticket: £45 adults + £35 concessions
Atmosphere where you were: Not too bad, really difficult to hear and sync with 1881 lower down but it always is in the gods at Wembley. We sang a lot (still croaky now) and a decent number around us were singing too, suspect were not as aligned with the main group as we have hoped though.
Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets): No grief where I was, as with others, mix of what looked like regulars, families etc.... seemed like a decent cross section.
Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them: Didn't really interact with any outside but again saw no trouble. Thought they were quite loud a coupe of times but mostly not, especially as time went on. Seemed they had a couple of songs everyone knew and joined in with but not with any others. Suspect some of ours were the same but quite a few of theirs seemed to have peaked long before entering the ground.
Would you happily sit there again for the final: Would prefer to be lower down, decent but distant view, but yes happy enough, being there is the main thing.
Worth the money: Yes, I think so for a big game.

Atmosphere where you were - Decent, hard to hear exactly what the 1881 were chanting, but still quite loud
Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets) - One person near me showed the same enthusiasm as a person doing jury duty, with a dress code to match. Many fans seemed to have been to previous Watford games, and were friendly.
Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them - One got tossed out a few blocks away in the first half. Seemed a bit cocky in Wembley retail area pre-game, but didn't see any trouble first hand.
Would you happily sit there again for the final - Yes, although I'd take any seat I can find.

I’ve sat in the very top corner of the Rookery for a game before, what’s the equivalent position at Wembley? How much further away from the action is it at the top tier of Wembley say half way up?

 

My ST is in the back row of the Rookery and was in the back row at Wembley, distance wise it's similar but Wembley is lower. It's probably comparable to the front of Club Wembley. The top tier for the play-off final was much further away than anywhere in the Rookery.

 

Sorry, I meant back row of the lower tier this time. But yes, the upper tier at Wembley is about 4x higher behind the goals.

Which block were you - 532

Price of ticket - have no idea, it was a gift from a friend.

Atmosphere where you were - very good, even I joined in the singing, chanting, clapping and swearing at the ref.

Opinions of the fans sat around you (day trippers, families, muppets) - five or six annoyingly weak-bladdered individuals who seemed to spend the whole afternoon saying excuse me, and one who was drunk at the start & even drunker at the end - when he nearly took my knee off by kicking it before falling on it. Apart from that, a noisy bunch even when we were trailing 0-2.

Proximity to the wolves fans and your thoughts on them: Didn't encounter any beforehand or during the match - very subdued after the match. Was amused by one family who asked me in Wembley Park Station which platform the trains from Euston arrived at. Only noticed their noise when they scored.

Would you happily sit there again for the final: If I could get a ticket - which I doubt - yes. A decent view, if a little far away. Although climbing up there was made easier by the escalator, getting down to sea level again was tricky - couldn't find a lift and the 310 steps down were difficult after that drunk had left me temporarily disabled.

Worth the money: Given that I didn't pay - yes. If I had had to pay - yes. If we had lost - no...

 

Top tier at Wembley compared to the Vic. I've not tried it but if you went to the top level of the Intu car park and watched a home game from there it would probably be comparable but without quite as big a feeling of vertigo. Toilets at half time probably less stinky too.
