Back home, still concerned that Mrs Mazzarri just pointed and laughed when I did my partial faint. I'll let her off, she drive a red wine soaked Hornet back to Bradford on Avon.

I thought we were louder generally although when they woke up (ie after the first goal), they sounded massive.

    Decibels irrelevant.

The connection between us & the players got us there.

All the Wolves fans around us in the train queue home were phlegmatic and reasonable. They have a number of nobs and so do we. They have a good side and a fair and enterprising manager, which kind of makes our win even more satisfying.

I'm emotionally drained after that. It's been hard to type from cloud 9.

I thought the game was done at 0-2. Another Wembley flop match, but no......this time it was different.

Our old nemesis strikes again though, but this time we are the beneficiaries of the Michael Oliver love of a last minute penalty. I'm 100% right about him. He loves to steel the show and I just knew, with the game balanced as it was, if anyone goes down in the box in the final minute he would give a penalty, no matter how soft.

Deulofeu does what he does best, but to get that type of performance, Javi did the exact right thing. He stuck him on the bench and look at how he responded.

Wolves made some poor tactical changes. which I felt handed us the initiative, especially in extra time.

I thought we were the better side throughout though, but without getting shots on goal. We controlled the match for long periods, has more possession, more passes but we were struggling with end product.

We actually scored from all three of our shots on goal today, so that's pretty clinical.

I can't help thinking that is was a result that no one wanted. I've just seen it all back on Sky and BBC. Sky were pretty fair, but it was clear where the BBC loyalties lie. They were talking as if someone had died in their summary in that it was such a shame Wolves lost. Both Keown and Murphy were in with Wolves fans and came across a disappointed for Wolves rather than happy for Watford.

The Wolves fans were believing their own hype. So much bigging it up beforehand. So much gloating once going ahead, especially from that row in the Watford end. That facemask from Jimenez. It's all designed to take the p1ss and disrespect their opponent. So, it's even more satisfying to beat a team and fans like this.

We may even get a little bit of love from the media after today, but I wont hold my breath. We've knocked out this season's media darlings so we have to expect some backlash.

Anyway, it's so good to finally win at Wembley, and put the semi-final hoodoo to bed.

We have a chance to win the whole thing, but it does depend on what City turn up. If it's the one that played against Swansea and Brighton, then we've got a wonderful chance of winning. But if it's Rolls Royce City then it will be an occasion for us, but no more.

Either way, this has been an amazing and unexpectedly wonderful season and I just don't want it to end.

It could have all happened after I left, I stuck around for a fair bit after the final whistle (think I left 18:45). If that’s the case, great credit to our fans again, looks like there were quite a lot of them left in the ground.

My amazement is growing as I try to comprehend it all.

Several times this season I’ve not really enjoyed games where we’ve been winning. I’ve just wanted the bloody thing to finish.

    Today time stood still.

    I knew something would happen.

I’m only now realising that wasn’t necessarily the case.

Ahh, how I love to be wrong. From posting on the shoutbox at the end of half time that I had a "bad feeling" about the second half, to moaning mid-way through the second half with my sister that we never know what it feels like to leave Wembley with the same "joie de vivre" as that with which we arrive.
Sorry to hear about the negative experience of some on here. Have to say, for me, it was quite the opposite. All the Wolves fans I came across, both before and after the match, were good company. We went for a couple of post-match celebratory drinks in a bar where there were both sets of fans and there was no trouble. On the way home, we even helped a group get home; they were so pissed they'd got on a train at Wembley Central with no clue where to go (we persuaded them that the via Euston, rather than via Watford, route would be less painful for them!)
Hats off also to the 1881. Thought the flags were really effective and the constant drumming and singing succeeded in getting chants going pretty much throughout the match where we were (to the side of the 1881 and quite high up). This comment from the Wolves forum about the drummers and 1881 sums it up:

You might not like them but they are effective in starting chants and creating a rhythm which to be honest worked as though we may have had more fans but from where we sat they out sung us for large parts
    .

The atmosphere was good where we were, although I did notice what looked like a few people leaving with 5 mins of normal time to go. I did, at the time, express surprise to my sister that anyone would leave before the end of a cup match when we were only one goal down. About the only thing I did get right.
And to top off a perfect day, arrived home at 10.50pm, just in time to settle down in front of MOTD with (another) celebratory g&t.
PS Much as it pains me to admit it, turns out Mr HH (a) tends to be right about football (b) had more faith in Watford watching from home as a "neutral" than I did watching at the ground. After we went 1 down, he sent me the following text: "There'll be 4 more goals and Watford will win in the 116th minute - probably off Deeney's arse!". He also said we needed to get Deulofeu on to run at them, then backed us to win when we went 2-0 down.

I love football!!!!! What a game!!

Huge credit to Jose Holebas who I thought still played excellent whilst everyone around him was playing below par, his desire and heart were fantastic. The whole team was fantastic was from Delafoo goal onwards. How stupid must they feel giving Jiminez MOTM now - can that be overturned?

No their MOTM can't (won't) be overturned, it's just stupid when there is only one goal in it with 3 minutes plus stoppage time to play as you never know what could happen!

It's possible but I know highly unlikely the team losing at the time could score a goal in the 93rd minute forcing extra time and then go on and win it! Stupid idea I know!

Hopefully the bumptious Mexican got a MotM tattoo in the 87th minute.

Silly celebration which, I think, sums up a generally lightweight, if amicable, performance by WWFC & fans.

My man of the match was Javi.

Excellent set up to counter their wingbacks & astute subs.

Nuno was flapping like a spinnaker in a fresh breeze but JG was calm & resolute throughout.

Many minutes after the final whistle & after even Deeney had gone down the tunnel, JG was still available for interviews on the pitch. Charmingly awkward about accepting the praise from the fans.

May we be seeing a KnightJG avatar any time soon?

When that MOTM announcement came up, I had a strange feeling this could jinx the Wolves players and this could be our game (although I thought penalties was our only hope), especially with the amount of intense pressure we were putting on the Wolves goal. Stupid thing to do, it probably injected over-confidence in a few of the Wolves players’ heads (they don’t usually announce a MOTM from a team they think is the lesser of the two) and got them looking forward to a Wembley return and a chance of silverware.

Though funnily enough, I was probably the only one there who didn’t celebrate wildly when the pen was awarded as if we’d already scored a goal. I’ve seen too many missed penalties, both from us and top players, to know that it’s never a guarantee!

Gracia has brought composure, discipline & toughness to our team.

I was struck by Capoue’s unbridled celebrations.

He has taken on a very specific def mid role. His discipline in executing this, without any wild forays forward, is exemplary.

    Pure catharsis at the end.
