Shame Everton got that emphatic win last night. I'm sure he'd be gone by now had they lost that one. I think that result has saved his Everton career. No matter what happens from here on in, I think they'll give him the rest of the season now as they are virtually safe.

Looking on the Everton forum the mood has definitely changed. If he gets a good result against Liverpool next week, then he's the messiah. It's amazing how fickle fans can be. That two week break, then a big away win has calmed everything down.

As long as he's there, they are unlikely to be a threat to our assault on 7th, so it's probably a good thing they won last night. In spite of the comfortable score line, I see that Richarlison turned in yet another turgid performance of epic sulky proportions, or as one commenter put it: "one of the worst individual performances I've ever seen for Everton". Amazing to think we got Deulofeu + Pereyra for half of what they paid for him.

I think that Everton need the odd win every 5 games or so just to keep Silva in his job, that suits me.

When you think Everton paid £49m for the incredible sulk and snake, we actually did quite well out of it in the end.

0-2 up at Newcastle. Now 3-2 down. The gift that keeps on giving. Everton FC

    Made my day :D

I did not find out the result until later in the day, the last I had heard was that Everton were two up and Newcastle had missed a penalty, so I had feared the worst.

So you can imagine my joy when I saw the final score :D:D:D

Can't see where they will pick up many more points with the run in they have. Gonna be hard for them to justify keeping Slither if they don't have much more than the 37 points they have now.

Well Big Sam is clearly still bitter about it all..

Presume he means Silva as most of the other overseas coaches have done wel this season (anyone seen the top 7/8)

Anyone seen Richarlison twitter posts celebrating scoring yesterday. Has he a brain cell - Everton fans not happy

Richarlison's thought process "I scored a goal, so that's great. Does it matter what the team does?"

If anything scoring consistently for a bad team is better for his immediate career progression than barely scoring for a top team. It's clear why he's happy to show off.

Also find the fact he's moaning lack of quality chances created as a negative for foreign coaches...when Everton under Allardyce created the least amount of shots of any PL team.

It's an interesting debate though, the complete lack of English coaches. Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche, Neil Warnock and Roy Hodgson. That's our best?

Plenty in the Championship, I rate: Graham Potter (43), Dean Smith (47), Lee Johnson (37) and Chris Wilder (51) very highly. But it's up to the PL clubs to give them a chance rather than employing the same old dross.

I have a friend who supports Bristol City so follow their facebook page. Lee Johnson seems like one of those who they seem to want to fail for some reason. When things go well it's fairly silent, but when their form drops off a large portion of their fans want him out straight away. Even though this season they're doing well, anytime they lose their fans seem to jump on his back straight away.

Odd! Can't say I know the full ins and outs, but what he's achieved looks impressive on paper, took them over when they looked to be in a relegation battle and kept them up, next season finishing 11th and getting to the semi-finals of the league cup to now battling for a play-off position. Relegation candidates to promotion candidates is not an easy task in 2 and a half seasons in charge!

Fans rebase their expectations every few games based on recent performance. BC fans will now see failure to grap a playoff place as under-performance. In the same way bright sparks on here will want to see Gracia sacked if we are 6th bottom in November given we clearly have the 7th/8th best players in the league.

If I understand things correctly, they are still paying off 2 or 3 of their last managers. Mourinho won't come unless he has a big pay packet and transfer fund. Could this be the trigger for Everton's ultimate downfall?
