One thing that might go against us is the cup run. If we beat Palace then we will have to arrange another game and it just gets a little more congested. If we actually made it to the cup final it may well play on the players minds, don't want to get injured or sent off (still hate Milford for denying Rostron a cup final appearance). West Ham are already out so we probably want Wolves to beat United
8th which is a massive achievement. Javi has done the job no one else has yet - got us above Bournemouth. For this he deserves a medal, or at least rename the pond after him.
At the start of the season most of us would have been very happy with a top ten spot - that is now highly likely and anything more is a bonus. I reckon we will win 3 draw 2 and lose 4 giving us 54 points. That is likely to be 7th or 8th.
I saw yesterday, and he has already ! I'm thinking of starting an "8th" thread just for the hell of it.
Keighley seems to be a little bit delicate for a forum. Tissue skinned I think is the term. The thing is, people should be able to start as many threads as they like. If the mods want to merge them fine. It's not down to you or Keightly to dictate what people should be doing. Keightly started moaning about London Derby and Premier League. I just responded with a one line humorous reply about thread rationing. Nothing offensive in that. He then responds by name calling and putting me on the ignore list. I think he's being a little bit precious if you ask me. Go to the link and see. http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/north-london-derby.55536/ Same thing with you, as you've also moaned about a thread. I've again responded with a humorous reply. You may not find it funny, but it's not offensive. Since then I've seen several posts from Keightly mentioning what happened. I find it quite amazing that someone like Keightly, who writes regularly on this forum, would get quite so upset by it and carry a grudge for no apparent reason. All I'm doing is defending other poster's right to start threads as they see fit. Not everyone is aware of other threads of a similar theme. Starting debates should be encouraged and not moaned about.
I'm usually on your side but you really don't help yourself do you ? You accuse of others of being over-sensitive but you are the one who reacts and sees the need to "defend yourself against attack" all the time. Neith Keithley nor I have "dictated" what threads should be set up. We've both pointed out that it might be better to not start a new thread when the subject matter already falls under an existing thread running side by side as you find yourself posting the same comments on a number of similar threads at the same time. You say anyone should be able to start any thread they like and leave it to the mods but you agree I would a fool to now open a "Will we finish 8th thread" ?? Don't take it as a personal criticism each time.
If there were no attacks, then there would be no need to defend. Just something for you to consider. If you post something, and you get a response which is clearly humorous, then just leave it at that. You are both equally guilty of defending your position or else nothing else would have been said on the matter.
But no-one attacked you ????? Two people just suggested on 2 different days that 2 different threads perhaps weren't needed as they were covered by other threads ? I don't even know if you had started them or not. HB1 I think you add loads of great info to this website but don't take stuff so personally.
Nope - it is my fault - I did not see HB1's 7th place thread when I started mine. Quite happy for a mod to merge the two if they want - or just close mine.
Both threads are crap in fairness, and should be deleted and the thread creators banned. In my opinion.
If you think someone calling you a pillock and a **** is not a personal attack, then you and I have different opinions on the subject. But thanks for replying and stating your view, you pillocking ****.
Banning would be too good for them. Castration (either chemical or physical) is the only answer to people who create entirely bogus threads. However, I am going to create a thread myself outlining all the old Div. 4 matches I went to in the 70s. OK?
Every time I see the show ignored content is active I just know trollboy1 has been ruining another thread. I'm so glad for the ignore option on here!
Will only read that if you read my "Favourite wildlife photography holidays" thread along with my "Favourite wildlife holidays" and "favourite photography holidays" threads.
Huh - you want some? Ban or castrate me would you? I am going to think of a suitable punishment for people who take a thread wantonly off topic. Yeh? Yeh? this means you if I am looking at yer.
I think we’ll end up 8th, just behind Wolves. A more than respectable season, especially considering the rampant negativity during pre-season in regard to our lack of depth and a supposedly poor head coach. We’ve certainly proved many critics wrong, so much credit goes to Javi and the squad. It certainly feels as though the connection between the players and fans has been improved and it’s hard not to get carried away by the positivity around the club this season. That said, what comes next? If we find ourselves in the upper reaches of the bottom half next Christmas (or worse), how much of a leash does Javi get from the fans and the club? Do we expect to challenge for Europe each year now, and not doing so becomes a failure or lack of progress? Hopefully we can maintain a sense of perspective and set our expectations accordingly. Equally, perhaps we are challenging for Europe again, playing at a similar level of consistency and flair. Surely then, Javi becomes a target for clubs both here and abroad. I don’t suppose Gracia will be here beyond next season, either due to his success, or lack thereof. A bit depressing really, considering how fun this season has been.
Agonisingly we'll be pipped to 7th on GD, finishing 8th. Also lose the FA cup in the final to City where we get spanked 4-0.
