I'm a bit concerned about our next few fixtures now. Liverpool (a ), Leicester (h ), City (a ), United (a ) and also there's Palace in the cup. With Rodgers going to Leicester, that's now going to be a much harder game then it would have been under Puel. Leicester are a good side who stop playing for their manager when it suits them. They will be bang on it when they play us, you can be sure of that. Jon Moss will also be the referee....oh god. The other three away games are as tough as you could possibly get in the Premier League. Even Palace at home, with the signing of Batshuayi, they look formidable going forward. So, tonight represents the start of our hardest run of games for the entire season. If we avoid defeat in just one of the next 5 fixures, I think we'd have done extremely well. Hopefully I'm wrong, but the next 5 games could put a real dent in our season. After that though, I see the remainder of games fairly plain sailing. Put it this way, if we are still in the top half after we play United on 30th March, then I think we'll be a strong candidate to finishing 7th.
Anybody expecting tonight to be a continuation of our free-flowing, high-scoring previous game is sadly deluded. Cardiff were like a stick of rock, with 'Championship' written all the way through them. If Warnock keeps that shower up he deserves all the praise he will get. Watford did play well, (mainly in the second half), and attractively, so I'm not trying to take anything away from them. Are Liverpool beatable? At the moment there are reasons to think they are in a relatively poor form, so yes. But easily? Er...no. However, fingers, toes and eyes crossed, there is a glimmer.... Key features - Not putting Britos out to mark Salah; Has Masina been really tested yet when he has made an appearance for us? I wonder how he will cope. Lots of rearguard stuff.
It all depends on us I think. If we remain competitive and organised at the back, nobody will take us lightly. Aside from Citee, who are nearly always at a higher level, I feel we could get at least one win and two draws out of those games. I am less interested in 7th/ Europa league than generally finishing strongly and getting further in the FA Cup. Winning an actual trophy this season would be absolute magic.
Eh? Why would we want to keep it down to three? If Deulofeu gets another hatrick, we shouldn't just sit back.
I agree. We're a tough team for those sides to play as well and winning the two home matches is well within our scope, although that task is a lot harder because of recent events for both Palace and Leicester. Of the away games, if we got anything from any of them I'd be delighted. Certainly not expecting it.
We'll finish 7th easily - will be a bit dull between now and the end of the season as we'll probably not catch 6th and those below us won't cause us too much bother. At least we have the cup to keep us entertained. We'll beat Liverpool comfortably tonight as well (1-2), they're already cracking under the pressure. Leicester will be another relatively easy game too.
hubris Dictionary result for hubris /ˈhjuːbrɪs/ noun excessive pride or self-confidence. It's funny as now he thinks Watford are a good side. He changes his opinion on a daily basis and pretends what he said previously never happened. So far we've been relegation certainties, then slipped down a glass mountain with moccasins on was predicted, then he came out with the "bag of Revels" tag, now we're actually good. His last comment was "Watford are a good side, people keep knocking them but they are better than people think". I don't think he realises what he says in the past is actually recorded. He seems to think if he says something it's lost in the wind. He probably just thinks he's down the pub called the SkySportsNews Inn.
Hi, Liverpool fan in peace. I'm really not feeling confident about tonight. We've had a few flat performances in the last month - everyone including the fans are very nervous and jittery. After a hard slog against the scum a couple of days ago, I just think this game has come too soon for us. We couldn't play Watford at a worse time. Salah is a shadow of the player he was at the beginning of the season, and we've been relying on Firmino to create something, but it looks like he's out. Our midfield is a huge worry, and I just think we'll need Ederson to be on top form tonight. I really hope you don't score first as that would really put the pressure on and we don't do well under pressure. Right now I'm hoping Man City slip up as I think that's the only way we realistically win the league.
If you're seriously worrying about not being able to beat Watford at home, then you've got no chance of winning the league.
Welcome to the forum. With Salah, he doesn't look the same player after the shoulder injury, I thought they rushed him back in the World Cup - something's not right there. Is it pressure or are your players tired as Klopp seems to have played the majority of players in every game? Personally, I wanted you to win aginst Manure as the Solksjaer love fest sickens me.
There's nothing worse than playing tired players, it increases the chances of injuries. It's been suggested Firmino could be back tonight, but is it worth the risk? Obviously you're the better team but at least having played Friday night our players have had a much longer break since the last match, could that be the difference?
I believe it might well have been professionally translated as the "eh eh" and "calm down" count is way lower than expected. I note that the forum does not have any wheels either.
Sorry - I also support Man City (not as much tgough as they don't get shown over here as often), and I sometimes mix up the players. I have a Liverbird tatoo on my leg and a programme from when I went to Anfield four years ago.
Do you have a tattoo of Eddie Large on the other leg? He's a famous Liverpool fan, or is it Man City....I always get those two mixed up.
Christ. Basically boils down to : "I hope we get back to winning" "Winning will give us another 3 points, which will help us have more points than man city at the end of the season, which would mean we won the title" "Salah is good at scoring" "Why don't you have all games live on TV in Englandshire?" It's like someone invented a plastic chatbot.
6" high stilettos, in yellow and black (but take green spares). Leave the red and black ones at home tonight.
