Joke. In a narrative-altering move, more good press for our boys in yellow. Obviously means we’ll get smashed on Wednesday, as is the norm after a good win.

Not sure the article below is entirely accurate, given that we’ve been attacking like a gaggle of leprosy-riddled homeless people lately (Friday excluded obviously) but it made me smile a couple of times.

We did score some crackers on Friday.

They obviously didn't see the Brighton or Burnley games!

It starts "Watford are one of those Premier League clubs everyone seems to forget about"

"And like many clubs in the Premier League today, they are merely supporting cast for the top six," "mainly going unnoticed by anyone outside of Hertfordshire."

Even in a largely positive piece there is some sort of embarrassed apology for writing it, hence those qualifying quotes.

It's a better article than most which are written about us.

Why would anyone outside Hertfordshire give a **** about Watford?

How many people here give a **** about Burnley?

Good or bad write up, it's just a bloke in his bedroom, writing a hum drum football blog for some drab website that's sole purpose is selling advertising clicks.

Except noticing someone is quite different to giving a **** about someone.

For example, I have noticed you on this forum.

Watford were referred to as ‘streaky’ last night on Five Live Monday night club, when the question was asked why we are not discussed more in the media.

Make of that what you will.

So have 2,179 others according to my likes, at a frankly remarkable 0.37 ratio.

Judging by your ratio, I suggest a name change to The Invisible Man is in order.

Wolves, sat as they are on 40pts after 27 games, are a purring machine of a side. 35 great goals so far and 11 fantastic wins. Smooth, slick, a joy to watch. Hope they stay up for years to come.

Watford, sat as they are on 40pts after 27 games, are an inconsistent, streaky rabble. Only 39 'goals' so far and a measly 11 wins. Instantly forgettable, set to go down if the gods have their way.

Most of those likes are from me though. Due to our name connection. And love connection.

I only listened to the beginning, but that was precisely the point of the discussion - why don't Watford get as much credit as Wolves and others. Exactly the question some on this forum have been asking.

Because they are a bigger club than us by every single measure you can think of. They have a bigger fan base therefore there is more value in the media reporting on them than us, as they will have more people listening/watching/readings articles about them.

It's all about money, not conspiracy theories.

It’s strange how Wolves have not once received the tag of a bunch of foreigners / foriegn coach, all that’s wrong with modern football etc.

In their whole squad I think I’m correct in saying they only have Bennett, Coady and Doherty (Irish). Instead they’re reported to be ‘creative’.

Their fan base doesn't appear so huge and is not a direct reflection on how big a club is.

Well Martin Samuel's excuse was they were a big club showing ambition whereas we should just be happy with mid table Championship football and bringing through young talent for other clubs to buy !

I wouldn't look too much into this. The post count for posts before the switch over to the new forum was doubled, meaning your figures are very misleading. In addition, likes didn't always exist on this forum if I remember correctly. Seeing as PO has been around here two and a half years longer than you, that makes your point pretty redundant. That, and of course the fact that a 'like ratio' is a very primary-school like way of supporting any argument in the first place.

Molineux's capacity is usually stated as 31/32,000.. so up to 98% full. Nearly all Prem clubs average 90%+ capacity.. all bar Spurs this season.
Average crowds are no longer a way to measure how big a club is.. only how big a stadium is.

Spoken like a moderator I would say. I don't know if you are aware but a lot find you pretty obnoxious. We none of us know, nor probably care, why you are so angry, Nobody here has confronted you, neither has anybody from Udinese but still you want to run your mouth off.
Yes, agreed. He just made the point that Wolves are a much bigger club than us because of their fanbase.

    Average crowd size 30k v 20k
Major trophies won 4 league titles, 4 FA cups, 2 league cups v ZERO.
    Catchment area 250k v 100k (ish)

In what universe is watford comparable in size to wolves??

Just as a public service announcement (hopefully) for anyone wondering why Relegation Certs is so angry: they're not. They're doing a bit. It's just the persona they've adopted. This is not said to diminish their efforts either, it's perfectly legitimate. But this is the internet; intonation and motivation can be ten times harder to discern, and in some ways that makes it even more amusing/effective. Either way, don't get taken in hook, line and sinker treating everything as though it's earnest!
