I saw the article in The Sun and amazed at the anti Watford stance particularly as it was in a southern edition of the paper I thought the songs to be a clever subtle dig and our fanbase were remarkably kind to Silva in what was meted out to him. Saw Bill Kenwright in the directors box but no sign of Moshiri. Oh to be a fly on the wall before and after the game.
That was funny. Those of us in the Family Stand saw what he did when Digne hit the top of the bar. He turned to us, shook his head and said "never going in" to the crowd. He's brilliant at making a joke of things and making light of the situation.
https://twitter.com/Robin_HD_YT/status/1094943209254469632?s=20 And this is what a difference in mentality can do ladies and gentlemen. If you really care about something and you work your socks off, you can turn from Fat Bast*rd from Austin Powers to Usain Bolt within seconds.
Bad news: the extended club highlights don't, unfortunately, show show the megaflag. Good news: the extended club highlights do, fortunately, linger for 5 secs on Probert checking his watch. Disastrous news: no sign of IBB & Friend.
I'd say that if he walked into their teams on his current form, they wouldn't be upset about it. But then, I've got faith in him. Are you saying he couldn't? You seem to be judging his inclusion on how poor you think he is, not how good he actually is.
To give him credit I thought he played really well against Everton. I also like his passion and teamwork. Good tackler. He's also been part of a defensive unit that has been very tidy the last 4 weeks. That's where the positives end. In other games he has an air of panic, inexplicably lets the ball bounce (against Newcastle and Burnley in particular) and is limited in his passing. In short he's a backup option. I'm quite happy for him to be a 4th choice homegrown player. But if you want to sack Gracia if he finishes below 10th then you can't give him Mariappa as a 1st/2nd choice. To suggest he would walk into a Leicester team ahead of Maguire/Evans and even declining Morgan just weakens your argument. You even go as far to say he could do a job for Top 6 teams? Simply laughable.
Just to clarify you mentioned nothing of current form. Here is your quote in all its glory: "He is good enough and is capable of doing a job for any PL team and fit to walk into anything outside of the top 6 on merit."
I wonder if the 'designer' of the flag will go on a Twitter rant about the club in the same way he did about MOTD for not showing it.
I'm not sure how I can be anymore clear or detailed in my responses to you. Please ask if you would like me to expand on any of my views about why I don't think Mariappa could do a job for Man City and why Gracia shouldn't be judged by these odd assessments you have of our players.
There is another possibility. That every step we make up the premier league table makes us more attractive to players who had never considered (or heard of) little old Watford
You haven't explained anything. You have just said that our defense is crap, and not very good after all, then expected everyone to act as if your opinion = fact. If you had left it at expressing your very fair opinion, then good luck and fair respect to you; discussion had and opinion's expressed. But you feel that your opinion is so much more superior that you are justified in belittling mine. Just say you disagree. You don't have to add the rest of the rubbish. Just a thought though. We are eighth in the league and looking in good shape, even if the best of the fancy football is a few months behind us. We have a defence that has only conceded three goals in the last six games against PL opposition, and the last seven if you include all opposition. We are in our fourth year as a PL team, and we are more than likely safe if we didn't play another game. And you lot are fretting about being relegated in a year and a half's time because Gino hasn't invested enough money over the last seven months. I know who's opinion most people would find laughable. My comment, that Javi has the strongest squad we have seen since the eighties is what sparked the tirade from you chaps (yes it was Jumbo). So you chaps, please explain to me when it was stronger over the last thirty years.
In my view the now infamous playlist and Emma Saunders’ ‘welcome back’ to Sssilva were entirely legitimate ways of ramping up the atmosphere and increasing our home advantage. The big clubs have always had this sort of advantage through their bigger, more intimidating crowds, although they are nowhere near what they used to be years ago.
Stop squirming. Why does being safe have any relevance whatsoever? That is down to GRACIA, who has overachieved with a bottom half squad, with a bottom half wage bill, with bottom half investment. You said Mariappa could walk into any Premier League team outside the top 6, and said that he could do a job for Man City. Just admit that was idiotic and we'll let it go.
Please stop running down the current squad, you are being disrespectful to the players and coaching staff. The squad is a top 10 squad and they deserve respect.
They are in the top 10 of the league. They are not a top 10 squad compared to their peers. Man for man. Wages. Transfer fees. How hard is that to understand? Sema plays for god sake. It's Gracia who makes them top 10. I'm giving the coaching staff massive credit, not running them down. Do you understand?
My opinion is you are wrong. They are a top 10 squad with excellent depth this season. Wages & transfer fees are irrelevant.
It all went downhill in 1998 when they played Cher’s Believe every week. We may have got promoted that season, but the pre match music has left me mentally damaged to this day.
In midfield agreed. And goal if Foster got injured because Gomes could do a good job. Not sure about defence although they have done well so clearly been well organised maybe by Gracia and having Foster behind them but up front we are certainly are light.
Or sticking the away fans on the third tier or along the side of the pitch. Personally, I’d put them on the third tier of the GT.
