Ha ha - Richarlison has just come on and the fans are moaning that he is falling over like a girl. It just could be better set for a Saturday. :)

Been saving myself all day for a trip to their forum once things settle down for the evening here. Quite excited.

    Landslide for the Leave camp.

Moyes as caretaker is the most popular shout.

After reading 10 pages, what strikes me is how lacking in ideas their forum is. Communal handwringing but no practical suggestions & curiously little anger.

Maybe fans get the clubs they deserve.

It would be quite funny if they got Bielsa now, simply because it’s Leeds! However being totally objective it would be a typically ****ish Everton thing to do and it would more than likely result in Leeds chucking promotion down the toilet.

I just can’t see it though, Leeds’s would be bonkers to let him go now and the guy doesn’t strike me as being purely driven by money and short term gain (aka Silva) He could’ve got a better job than a Leeds in the first place.

Assuming Leeds get promoted then at the end of the season it wouldn’t really make much sense. As a premier league club Leeds are easily as big as Everton. On the assumption he’d have a half decent amount of money to spend then I don’t see why he’d go there.

I think he will stay for now simply because they probably cannot get anyone else without upsetting another team!

Surely they cannot afford to waste another 100m odd in the transfer window though.

I mean just look at the subs made yesterday - gone 1-0 down and taking off their 2 most expensive players!

Everton forum was a bit disappointing all told. Really nothing more than meek acceptance of the fact that Silva is a fraud. Richarlison actually coming in for more abuse than Marco.

    Things are working out nicely.

No cheese badinage. All rather dry & repetitive.

The best suggestion was that Sssssilva should be fired out of a canon.

Anyone else feel a bit empty now we have beaten them.

I’m kind of thinking we got revenge.
    Took the piss something rotten.
    They continue to suffer.
They are damned if they keep him and demned if they change.
We got a very good deal on Richarlison and dodged a snake shaped bullet.

    Maybe time to move on?

You sum it up perfectly although an official apology from the Everton owners for tapping him up would be the final closure for me. As that will never happen I will continue to hate on them in a slightly pointless immature way.

I won't be satisfied until Moshiri is declared bankrupt, Silva is cleaning out bins and Richarlison signs for Dundalk.

    IBB, I have to ask.

Was it you modelling the snakesuit incorporating glove puppet at the match?

A stunning outfit & a natural to fill the void left by Rod Hull & Keith Harris.

Move on with a quiet sense of satisfaction. Far from feeling empty, it has all worked out as well as we could have hoped for. A loss yesterday or, possibly worse, a 0-0, would have been a huge anticlimax. Just enjoy, the moment. The boil has been lanced.

Well that didn't last long. Earlier today Silva was favourite to be next Premier League manager to be sacked, but now has been replaced by Sarri, who is suddenly odds-on to be fired.

RD I did have a hand in it!
So far 'Marco' has received two weddings,a Bar mitzvah,a golf club event and a couple of birthday party gigs.
You're quite correct about Rod Hull,I found myself attacking two small children, all of my row and Irene's family above and four young men on the way up Occupation Road!
I was told by one of the gang pre match "you'll not be allowed in'. I replied "I'm a middle aged woman in a snake outfit, not a terrorist".

If Silva stays at Everton lets take a look to see how realistic are they to be involved in a relegation scrap?

You have to consider Huddersfield and Fulham are gone, so it's only really the final place that we are looking at. Because of Cardiff's great run, they have pulled half the league into the mix, including a free falling Everton.

    Southampton 24 points
    Arsenal (a ), Fulham (h ), Man Utd (a ), Spurs (h ), Watford (a ), Brighton (a ), Liverpool (h ), Wolves (h ), Newcastle (a ), Bournemouth (h ), West Ham (a ), Huddersfield (h ) (4)
    Newcastle 24 points
    Wolves (a ), Huddersfield (h ), Burnley (h ), West Ham (a ), Everton (h ), Bournemouth (a ), Arsenal (a ), Palace (a ), Leicester (a ), Southampton (h ), Brighton (a ), Liverpool (h ), Fulham (a ) (2)
    Cardiff 25 points
    Watford (h ), Everton (h ), Wolves (a ), West Ham (h ), Brighton (a ), Chelsea (h ), Man City (a ), Burnley (a ), Liverpool (h ), Fulham (a ), Palace (h ), Man Utd (a ) (4)
    Burnley 27 points
    Spurs (h ), Newcastle (a ), Palace (h ), Liverpool (a ), Leicester (h ), Wolves (h ), Bournemouth (a ), Cardiff (h ), Chelsea (a ), Man City (h ), Everton (a ), Arsenal (h ) (5)
    Brighton 27 points
    Chelsea (a ), Leicester (a ), Huddersfield (h ), Palace (a ), Cardiff (h ), Southampton (h ), Spurs (a ), Bournemouth (h ), Wolves (a ), Newcastle (h ), Arsenal (a ), Man City (h ) (4)
    Crystal Palace 27 points
    Leicester (a ), Man Utd (h ), Burnley (a), Brighton (h ), Spurs (a ), Huddersfield (h ), Newcastle (a ), Man City (h ), Arsenal (a ), Everton (h ), Cardiff (a ), Bournemouth (h ) (4)

There are still other clubs before you get to Everton. They are Leicester (32), Bournemouth (33) & West Ham (33), but I feel they will all be fine.

    Everton 33 points
    Cardiff (a ), Liverpool (h ), Newcastle (a ), Chelsea (h ), West Ham (a ), Arsenal (h ), Fulham (a ), Man Utd (h ), Palace (a ), Burnley (h ), Spurs (a ). (5)

The figure I've put in brackets at the end represents the games to play against a top 6 club. Everton have one less game than everyone else and still have five top 6 clubs to play.

This is why I think they certainly could be in the shake-up at the end of the season, however, I do expect them to survive, but only just.

There’s no way Everton are getting dragged into a relegation battle. I’d love it to happen, but I just can’t see it, irrespective of the fixture list.

Too many of the 6 clubs from Palace to Southampton have to play each other so I think that Everton will be safe provided they don't lose every match from here on.

I don't think Huddersfield will reach 20, Fulham will get to about 25.

Of the others I think the 18th spot will end up getting to about 36 so it will be very tight down there for a while. If we can beat Cardiff in our next game we would reach the psychological milestone of 40 with nearly 3 months to spare.

Lets say they lose all their top 6 matches.
They still only need 7 points in all probability to survive, from 6 games.
They are playing Huddersfield at home and Fulham away and have enough to get results at both. They need a draw from one of the other 4 non top 6 games or a lucky result against the top 6 doesn't sound too unlikely to me.
They wont probably make 7th but still could they are only a few behind us.

Of course it's a long shot, but I wouldn't mind taking a bet on Newcastle finishing above Everton this season.

Looking at current form and remaining fixtures, Southampton are probably the most vulnerable team now.

  32. hornetboy1

    hornetboy1 First Team Captain

    They are not playing Huddersfield.

However, I'm not saying I think Everton will go down, but I do think they will get themselves into a position where they are looking over their shoulder and worrying about the drop.

Just look at the next two games for Southampton, Newcastle and Cardiff. Everton will only have one match in that time. I could easily see Southampton beating Fulham at home, Newcastle to beat Huddersfield at home, and Cardiff to beat Everton.

That would make the final relegation place 27 points and Everton on 33 with just 10 games to go. That would make me nervous if it got that close.
