Apparently the Everton fans all rushed off a coach and jumped a fence to fight this guy. I hope he's okay but you have to be bit dense to start giving it the big'un to a bunch of animals that were happy to march down to Millwall looking for a scrap.

Before the game I felt a weird atmosphere walking past the pub with large groups of younger looking achne ridden Everton fans bunched together smoking cigs which (to me) looked like they were trying to goad people into arguing back with sly comments. Typical Scouse chavs. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some part to play in the incident that happened after the game.

Now for those who like to say "Oh, Luton are barely even rivals anymore". Take the incident today as only a pinch of salt. When those zombie animals eventually meet up with us, in league or cup, it will practically be another world war compared to the scuffle today.

There's giving it the big un and there's banter in response to other banter, often used as an excuse by people who are out to shoe in someone and will find any opportunity to do it.

They know that 80% of their fellow fans will then say "Yeah, there may have been two of them against 6 and one of them might have been 83 and had never had a scrap in his life, but if you laugh and wave at Everton fans when they've just lost and are calling you a **** from a bus, you're giving it large and fair game."

You are completely right. There is absolutely no excuse to beat people up because of a footie match result. It's animalistic and makes no sense at all.

That said, what on earth has he done to get that sort of reaction. Banter is showing the scoreline on fingers from a distance and perhaps giving the 'up yours' gesture, but this guy must've done something to really stir them up. I'm in no way condoning the fight, but we don't know whether hes got beat up because of "football banter" or because hes perhaps genuinely been a nasty piece of work. Until then, we really don't know why it has happened.

Generally, there's always a backstory. A bit like how the 'Oh so innocent' Everton fan who got slashed at Millwall was in fact a hooligan who went down for a scrap in the first place. In return, he has been given free plastic surgery and fundraising... As a result of willingly going to a fight and getting beaten up... Live by the sword, die by the sword (cliché, I know).

True. We don't know what happened. I just don't like the "he was giving it the biggun" attitude. The Wolves fans were all using that as justification when Moo was nearly killed by their thugs.

We must have passed by moments before the incident.

There was some terrace chanting from our lot & a bit of rather lame ‘you’re Scouse, you’re on the dole’ shouting.

The one thing I did note was that the driver of the first away coach had opened his window which allowed direct engagement between a few of us & the feral inhabitants of the coach.

    Things were getting excitable.

Yeah, I'm wrong to assume he was giving it the biggun. Afterall, i've had my fair share of encounters with people who are happy to fight whoever and wherever, just for the sake of it. Most of the time these types are geared up on coke, something which is quite common in football. Fortunately, we don't have this type of incident happen often at the Vic so it's a bit of a shock for the fanbase. Hoping the man is okay and isn't in a position as terrible as Nic's was.

I saw police cars already parked up but I didn't notice anything walking passed the coaches; and I left a minute or two after the whistle blew so I can't work out when the incident occurred. Perhaps it happened as I was walking passed but I was too bleedin' happy smiling about the result and looking forward to getting home to really notice what was actually going on.

What kind of a loser leaves the house for a football game with a knife in their pocket?

Abused as a child would be the only thing that can begin to explain it.

4 arrested says the Wobby. 2 men taken to hospital with 'bruising and cuts to their faces' - so doesn't sound as serious as rumoured fortunately.

Walked past just before I assume it all kicked off and didn’t see anything to suggest it was gonna happen so quite shocked by this...

It’s a pretty simple ethical situation though. There’s absolutely no justification for this violence, but if it’s true our fans were goading their fans and knocking on the coach windows etc then they’re ******* morons.

Thoughts are with the family of those affected.

As I walked past a couple of teens bolted from their coach and rushed to the cemetery to join in.
    Police cars were arriving.
    Not good.
Glad to hear there was no stabbing and let's hope everyone is safe.

The Rookery was particularly slow to empty so we were pretty much the last up Occupation Rd.

There were 2 police cars by then parked in Vic Rd but they may have been there for general duties. Certainly the many police cars & ambulances shown on the Twitter pic had not then arrived.

From what we saw, it would not have been wise for any of ours to go round the coaches to the door side. Given the incident took place in the cemetery, I suspect this might have happened.

Copied from my post in the match thread:

....I've always been puzzled why the coaches have been moved up the road alongside the cemetery and are no longer directly outside the away exit, where fans can get straight on them without having to walk alongside the majority of Watford fans as they head towards town rather than towards the hospital....

Doesn't matter how much abuse was given there is no ******* excuse for that kind of violence.

    It's a ******* game.

Suggesting that our fans in any way "asked for it" is out of order unless they themselves engaged in violence.

At the end of a day what kind of ******* child would get so wound up by some choice words. I hope they identify the Everton fans responsible and throw away the ******* key

That said if true our fans attempting to board their coach is moronic in the extreme and equally deserving of punishment

I was walking past the coaches as it happened, few ****** signs and fans waving snakes at the Everton fans on their coaches. Was just banter initially and then admittedly a few Watford fans started banging on the coaches and offering to fight the Everton fans (saying get off the coach). Think the Watford fans were surprised when a coach load of Everton fans decided to rush off.

Was on the road side of the coach and not the cemetry side so couldnt see what happened after but my assumption was when they jumped off the coach they just went for any watford fan on that side. But maybe the Watford fans on that side were being just as mouthy as the ones on the side of the coach I was on.

Hope whoever got hurt is ok.

Security has been poor ever since the away coaches have been parked in Vicarage Road. Hold the away fans back for 10 or 15 minutes until the road clears a bit. It's not pleasant exiting the ground since this change and it takes longer for the crowd to disperse. Where did the coaches park before? The club and police need to look at this problem.

99 percent of football fans go to watch a game. Its the other one percent that needs weeding out and banned from grounds.

Doesnt matter who started it, anyone who joined in is culpable. Its sickening as small children were around and could of been hurt had it esculated further.

Its hopefully and isolated inccident that wont happen again anytime soon and my love goes to anyone hurt and im wishing a speedy recovery.

Both sets of fans involved have let their club down, and the other fans too.

Yes this ties in to what I've heard. Some phoney hard men were hurling regional abuse at the coaches, hitting the windows and putting stickers on the coaches (?) and were surprised when a group of fans who walked the council estates of South London looking for trouble didn't meekly sit there and take the abuse.

I mean no one deserves having their head kicked in but if you can't handle yourself then just go home after the match. And while with your son too! It's child abuse on the dad's part.

These Everton rats come from extreme poverty in what is a war zone of a city. Their ninjas they call them as they are usual dressed all in black. Is it any wonder they weren't intimidated by some middle class whoppers from Chorleywood?

  28. Ninjas? Are you having a laugh? I though we left ridiculously named football gangs back in the 80s. Everton fans have really hit the bottom haven't they.

Lets all point and laugh at them.

True, in ye olden days when the Rookery was the way end wasn't what is now the car park at the end of the allotments the coach park. Parking the away coaches in Vic Road has always seemed to me as an incident waiting to happen - although I suppose that it could be argued that the plan is to get them straight out of the ground and into the coaches...
FWIW when I lived in the 'Pool there was always "some" quite nasty violence before and after derbies - but that was normally sectarian based...

By the sounds of things you are going along hurling abuse at a few hundred opposition supporters on their buses after a highly charged match. I’d like to think people can show restraint but if you randomly go up Watford High Street hurling abuse at 500 people I’d almost expect you to get smacked around on more than one occasion.

Never like to see things degenerate into violence but simple law of averages suggest someone will want to “teach you a lesson” when you do that. You could argue that 2-300 supporters showed restraint in not confronting them.

I am anti-violence and am all for tolerance. I’m less inclined to defend people who deliberately put themselves in a clearly dangerous situation. As people have also said, with your son as well!? I hope at least he learns from this experience.
