There’s an argument to say that as we are 7th we should be higher in the running order on occasions. But that argument is easily sated by the fact we just aren’t a big club compared with the rest. We will naturally always be in the last 3 games shown unless we play one of the top teams or have a multiple goal thriller.

Not quite sure why people let it bother them so much. In terms of the programme in question, we are treated in equal terms to all the clubs of similar stature in the PL.

And I can’t understand why anyone believes we should have been higher up the order on Saturday. Two PL second string sides play out a dull cup encounter with 2 goals and no other highlights at all.

Well as one of only 5 Premier league clubs through there must be a good chance of us being on live somewhere.

Lets just hope its not another Millwall experience!

We are CURRENTLY 7th. How many clubs have been in that position over the last few months though? If we are consistently 7th for a long time then maybe there is a little more of an argument for a little more favour in terms of timing.
In all likelihood we wont be there in a few weeks. Then it's all waa waa why aren't we further up the pecking order when in reality we are a very ordinary mid table team (not top 6 not bottom 6, no real potential for Europe or a league win/runners up and no danger of relegation) with the second lowest crowd in the prem without Sir Eddie of Howe as manager.
Seems reasonable to me if you take the rose tinteds off that we go near to or even last

I’ve been trying to stop watching MOTD for a while now because it’s become such a poor way to catch up with the highlights. Because they pack in so many games the editing is quite random. If you don’t see the game live you never get a true reflection of what happened, even when it’s two tweaks from the top six. However it’s been such a traditional part of my life for so long it’s difficult to kick the habit.

If you have Sky they do a nice 30 mins highlights programme on each game, c 20mins once you exclude the adverts. Better than the 5-7 mins you get on MoTD.
Commentary but no "expert" opinion, though of course as is tradition they exclude all the WFC chances and the commentary team constantly talk from the point of view of the other team.

Yes I do watch our game on that or the website, but it’s hard to give up Jug Ears and co, even though I fast forward through their drivel.

My rose tinted specs just want us treated the same as others. A meritocracy
I don't want us first as I expect to see the top 6 first and/or the high scoring games which is fine. However too many times like the recent Facup rounds have we been behind certain matches and it makes the conspiracy theorist in me want to call Mulder. Perhaps Scully will have it down to a strange cloud formation who knows.

How about for a bit of fun we look at the scheduling from now till the end of the season? Ok the Spurs game will be high up but from then on, Brighton onwards lets have a gander objectively

I can tell you right now that unless it is a 4-4 draw, Brighton v Watford will be at, or very near, the end.

I would argue that these are the two most "under the radar" clubs in the entire PL.

In all honesty, I prefer to be under the radar. As long as there are people like Alex Scott saying "they've only got Watford next" involved in football we will continue to be underestimated. I don't suppose she knows we are 7th. In fairness Ray Parlour mentioned us a few times on TalkSport as a side that could go all the way. We do get some credit but most pundits are not interested in us or teams like Brighton.
    It won't ever change

Well on Saturday Man U /City , Chelsea and Liverpool aren't playing so we are almost the highest team in action !

Tbh I would not expect classic on Saturday .

Brighton 1-0. Murray bundled goal after Mariappa defensive lapse. Delefeou misses sitter. Sema anonymous. Deeney waves arms around. Last on MOTD.

I understand they have decided not to show us on MOTD tonight. Instead we go straight to Gardeners World2, where the Brighton groundstaff will feature in an enthralling performance cutting in from the sides and general doing the business in both penalty areas.

Awful program, sunk as low as showing cat videos lastnight in a vane attempt to appeal to the youth. Will just be memes instead on punditry soon.

Our usual second from last slot. Also as usual it was all about our opponent with the main focus on the corner, which shouldn't have been, that had no bearing on the goal anyway.

Then the standard Lineker line. "Another good result for Watford, they are having a good season".

Well it was the 2nd phase of the corner incident but as Danny Murphy said Everton could have done better in defence for it.

Not really sure why Pickford went to try and get the ball anyway from Holebas effort - certainly made it look like he might have touched it.

Exactly. We didn't score from the corner. The ball was cleared. We then picked it up and went again.

I'm really beginning to hate the coverage and lack of credit MotD are giving us. We're 26 games into the season and sit a firm 8th, clear by 4 points. They gizz all over Wolves, and the top 6 clubs. That standard line Lineker always gives about us having a good season is said through gritted teeth.

They always look to make an excuse for our win, like the corner that shouldn't have been given.

I just don't understand why they are so threatened by Watford. It's just very strange.

Quick research suggests that both spellings are acceptable although the pedants highlight a nuance.

They prefer that jizz is used to refer male ejaculation & gizz to the comparable female sexual discharge.

You say tomato, I say tomato so to speak.

This post confirms quite how special this place is.

I can’t imagine many other clubs reach these heights of conversation.

    Well played, Sir.

  32. I usually avoid motd nowadays however we got the perfect trifactor today to make me bother - a Watford win, a decent fpl week so far where I captained Pogba, and a very good set of bets coming off.

Worth watching the games in spite of smug lineker.

They’re so against Watford cos we prove them wrong and make them look like mugs. Also not one pundit has any allegiance with us. Fulham get more attention as Murphy played there like wise with shearer and Newcastle. Out of them all I find Ian Wright gives us credit when it’s due but he’s probably the only one not to predict we will struggle.

Even Lawro & Merse now understand that we’re a decent mid table outfit.

Are we reaping the harvest for GT subbing off Lineker?

I had been waiting patiently for the topic to arise.

To digress briefly, I visited your mistress last year.

I found Austin quite a cool place & the hill country outside was strangely reminiscent of the Cotswolds. The German town is weird. Could be transported directly from Bavaria.
