    Hi lads.

I am a Korean researcher at Loughborough University.

I am currently on my project in relation to observing football fans behaviours.

I've joined this forum for mainly two reasons:

    first, for my research project.

second, to post on a transfer news that hasn't reached England yet.

I just had a transfer news from a popular Korean football columnist June Han.

He says that Watford boards have sent an official transfer request to Jeonbuk Hyundai of K League upon consideration of Kim's transfer move to Watford.

The report says transfer fee is ranging about 6M GBP.

Watford FC board is trying to hijack Kim from his move to one of the chinese conglomerate clubs who has been struggling to finalise the deal with the Korean club.

Min-Jae, Kim is a 22 year old Korean centreback.

For a centreback he is very agile, has quick feet, and he is physically very strong.

Some say its because his mum was a professional track athlete, and his dad was a professional judo martial artist.

he is 6'3" tall, good at aerial dual, and is the most promising centreback South Korea has atm.

His only weakness is passing though.

The report says after Asiancup's end, the transfer talk will have a progress.

I will leave some videos of him playing for South Korea for you lot.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the post.

Any colleagues in the Psychology or Anthropology departments might also be interested to observe this forum.

Relegation Certs, for instance, might prove a fertile subject for a PhD.

This kind of article is where Google Translate really comes into its own:

▲ The Watford Defensive Line is mainly made up of cascades and 30s

Wattford, who is in the formation of the 4-4-2 formation, is center-backed by Craig Cassatt (30, Northern Ireland), Christian Carvalle (28, Belgium) and Adrian Maripa (33, Jamaica).

Watford has plenty of injuries in the defensive line. Austrian defender Sebastien Freud (32) has not been able to play since his knee was injured in October following a bruise last September. Carvalez, who played in the main event, was injured last December. The two are planning to return soon, but are looking at mid-30s. Miguel Britos (34, Uruguay), the fourth center-back of the team, is on the waiting list, but he is also a prime player.

Looks like Gino has signed a whole new back four.

    Will quieten the naysayers.

Thanks for posting. Hope we get a centre back from somewhere. 22yr old international with no profile over here ticks a lot of Ponzo boxes.

I graduated from Loughborough, I never posted stuff on the internet for others to do my work. He's probably in JC's getting pissed while you fill in the questionnaire.

    Lastest Update on this.

It has been officially confirmed by Jeonbuk Hyundai that

Filippo Giraldi, the technical director of Watford FC has directed this transfer talk with the Korean club.

The report says there is a possible way to sort out the Work Permit problem for the 22 year old centreback.

This news has been confirmed by Jeonbuk's chief director.

Again, they are still in talks.

Nothing has been decided but its not a rumour.

As always with a signing like this, it's going to be delayed because of work permit requirements. South Korea are currently 53rd in FIFA's rankings, which adds a bit of an issue as they sit outside the top 50.

Min-jae has played 15 times for the national side though, since 2017 so I would have thought he would qualify as he seems to be a regular international.

We will probably be allowed to sign him, if we so wish, but I don't think you'll be seeing him at Vicarage Road for a while.

However, Korea looks like a rabbit, so this transfer might be pulled out of the hat. You never know.

When doing research it's a good idea to find out what other people know and you don't.

I accept that successive Brexit secretaries wouldn't agree with me there, of course.

Thanks for posting, sounds promising. Although I won't believe it until someone confirms they heard it on Spanish radio.

Would open up another source of international support for the club as well.

Sounds like he can also play as a full back

This guy was a starting centre-back for the Korea team that just won the Asia Games, so any Watford scouts would have had the chance to see how his playing style compares to that of his team-mate Son. The team winning the trophy also means he's now exempt from future military service. Both of which would have reduced the risk and increased the attractiveness of the signing.

FIFA rankings are such codswallop - some of the teams Korea are currently behind include Iran, Bulgaria, Australia and Congo. They're also currently narrowly behind Japan, who are at 50, despite having just beaten them in the Asia Games final. If Korea do well again at the current Asia Cup, then they surely have to move up.

I mean really, how are Korea 12 places behind Australia?! Australia were absolute bobbins in the World Cup and just lost to Jordan(!) in the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, Korea have won 3 of 3 in their group, so could get the opportunity to beat Iran, Japan or Australia in later rounds of this tournament to thus further improve their ranking position.

Although I think we need the man from Esso just to back us up on this one.

Couple more belters from the Google Translate of the article:

    ■ EPL 7th-ranked powerhouse, older centerbag line

In the meantime, Watford's official proposal came. With the opening of the European soccer game in 2018-19 season, Watford ran a leading role in the game, sending a love call to Kim Min-jae.
