All starts to make a bit more sense now.

Club bought him for 400k from his first club. Then we 'paid' (or perhaps better to say transferred) 12.5m to Granada whilst they were still under Pozzo ownership.

They would no doubt have got their money back & then some, when they sold out to the Chinese as part of the player valuations, so it's likely Issac has already paid for himself for the whole contract term & any sell on will be all profit.

Bizarrely negative in regards to Success' ability and potential. He's actually looked very good for us this season and certainly looks to be capable of developing into a very effective player at this level over the next couple of years.

He has a very good touch, is extremely strong, can pick a pass and is fast. If he can develop more composure in front of goal and continue showing the right attitude and work ethic to improve then he could become absolutely lethal.

This guy has been playing at a decent level for 5 years now and has consistently failed to produce. 80 games 11 goals. I guess I know nothing about football though seeing as we just gave him a new contract. Maybe I'm being hasty, but I'm not sure how an epl side can expect to get anywhere with this guy as a start, its baffling

He's better than Gray, because he can run with the ball and is strong enough to outmuscle defenders, plus he draws a lot of fouls. However, he's a terrible passer, has zero footballing brain and can't finish for ****.

He's definitely an option to have, because he is direct and when running directly towards goal, can make things happen, but he'll never be a 15 goal a season striker in the Premier League

The jury will be returning their verdict after the cardiff home match. Stay tuned folks.

But the rumour is: "he's dung".

Had a poor match last night, but so did a lot of others. He was at fault for the second goal because of his careless pass.

But I've seen a lot of good things from him this season. He's young and will improve. I have no issue in his signing a long contract and I think he's an exciting prospect.

I just wish he'd sort out his passing in key areas. The role he's often put in sees him as ball carrier in the final third. But it's pointless him muscling his way past opponents or holding the ball up to make space for others only to then mess up the pass to a teammate. At least once in every match he's guaranteed to do all the hard work and then fail to make a pass to someone streaking clear into space. Last night it was Bobby P through on goal (albeit in the centre circle) but Success played it straight to a Citeh player who was chasing back.

He's out of his depth in the prem, but no more so than any of our other strikers.

If he could pass and shoot with some accuracy he'd be a very decent player.

If he was british and called Ian Sturgess he'd be nowhere near our first eleven.

At roughly the same age as Success a certain Ross Jenkins (yes that one) had played 15 games for Palace and 44 for Watford. He had scored 6 goals. He was our record signing in that moment at £30,000.

Dare I say that strikers (like central defenders) mature.....

In his first few starts this season his through-balls were excellent though...

My theory is that after watching Deulofeu and Pereyra screw-up the chances he gave them vs. Newcastle he just decided it was pointless continuing.

Undoubtedly earned his starting spot after the early cameos that looked very promising, but needs to be more productive. Clearly room to improve, but I think he’s shown enough to give hope that he’s capable of being a decent option.

Yes Liam Henderson should be ready for first team action round about now. Wayne Andrews too. RO, yes but you had to go back a long way for that classic example :)
Dare I say that some strikers mature but remain rubbish.....

I’ve just been watching highlights of the recent glorious Palace win and one player who caught my eye was Isaac Success.

Although young Isaac didn’t actually technically play I was nevertheless really impressed with the role he plays in goal celebrations from the side line. He’s great. Time and time I’ve seen it where he is first to the goal scorer and gets him in a big cuddly bear type hug with a massive happy grin on his face. I think this is a key contribution to the team.

I must admit, for me Isaac has probably been the biggest disappointment this season .

When he first arrived in the Mazarri season he always provided excitement coming off the bench with his pace and power. He looke. perfectly suited to the premier league . He then had his brain fart last season but this season it appeared the attitude was right and it could be his time . He looked good early on with his cameos and like he could develop into a centre forward but his performances have become increasingly peripheral . He doesn’t seem to have much composure in front of goal most of the time either .

Still I do think there is time for improvement and there’s a good player in there somewhere . Maybe he needs to go back to more of a wide role at some point .

  30. None of our forwards are performing at the moment, not just Success.

They have to scrap for hoofs from the back whilst our lightweight midfield drops deeper and deeper.
