    Pedant alert:
Ah, the stories that grow in the telling/ how the memory fades.
Only once would you have been in the Vic with 34,000 others and I was there with you. Feb 1969 ManU cup replay.

But I know what you mean with those big crowds. I remember a few times as a boy being carried along to the exits wedged in the crowd with my feet not touching the ground. Very scary, and you could understand how people got crushed in the nasty accidents that occurred before all seater stadiums.

Elton John wanted to build a new stadium back in the day but I believe the dinosaur backward looking council refused permission or something at the time.

Keep the Vic and incrementally expand to the 30k Duxberry has quoted in the longer term plan. I’d hate to move to an out of town steel and plastic concrete ‘modern’ soulless dome.

Sorry Sahorn, I call your pedantry and raise you. I have indeed been in Vicarage Road twice with over 34,000 others. As well as the Man U replay, there was the 6th round of the Cup the following season v. Liverpool. Man U attendance was 34,099, Liverpool attendance was 34,047.

As I said vic-rijrode, how the memory fades - of course, the Barry Endean moment.
I stand corrected and suitably chastened.

THAT will block the light and wilt the dahlias in the Occupation Road back gardens.
Will council approve it past the #saveourdahlias protestors?

People talk about that United attendance, but I'm certain the Liverpool quarter final had more. The official attendance was 28,000 but I was forced to stand pitch side as there was no room to stand anywhere on the terraces. After Barnes scored there was a surge in the crowd and I was lifted off the floor.

We were packed like sardines. Never seen an attendance like it before or since at the Vic.

The Liverpool and Brighton cup games both had an official attendance of 28,000 but there were clearly way more people in the vic road end for the liverpool game. Definitely over 30,000 at that game but hard to say how many.

I love the quotes coming out of the Everton AGM. Moshiri said "when I look at the league table, it's just not good enough". Music to my ears.

The next few games will decide Silva's future. On paper, they all look winnable, but if their recent run continues I don't think he'll last 5 more games. :D

Interesting also Moshri said he put a 'big bet' on Silva when he went for him. And I don't think he just means backing him in the transfer market. I think he means in tapping him up, angering Watford, pushing through the negative PR and now in the face of an independent investigation into it.

He should put a 'big bet' on the next Premier League manager to be sacked...….he could make a lot of his money back.

Hoping he stays. Not only do I want him to come get a spanking at the Vic my bet on them to finish in the bottom half was based upon the assumption Moshiri would feel obliged to give him a full season.

One thing I dont get is that we have forfeited our right to compensation. Is that just in relation to PL rules or does it mean we can't sue Everton in the courts either?

The club made a statement a while back stating their course of action means we wont get compensation. I dont know if its just in relation to PL rules/sports arbitration or in the courts as well.

We will probably end up paying all Everton's legal costs when the Premier League decide we conned them into appointing the snake.

Everton could still get a points deduction or a fine and until I hear differently Im assuming if Everton are found guilty we could present that decision to a civil court as strong evidence of inducement of breach of contract.

I can't pretend to understand the legal ins and outs of all this, but that sounds reasonable to me.
