Yes, a terrific game for Foster. We stood up pretty well under the cosh a bit second half.

Well done to Ken too, on an outstanding game. Deeney also - took his chances. Got a few headers in.

Thought Cleverley for Doucoure was a great sub at the right time. Looked far from his best unfortunately and gave the ball away a fair bit.

Another who had an off game is Deulofeu. Would have had Success on for him at about 75 mins.

Shocking defensive performance against a team that played on Sunday. Really abysmal. Thank God for Foster.

Well that was bonkers. We strolled the first 20 minutes and then completely lost our marbles and really should have lost comfortably by the end. So I guess a draw is fitting.

I dunno who the drip on the commentary was but farking hell, he wouldn't shut up about the Doucoure tackle and clearly had red-tinted glasses on. Yes it could have been a red in the modern game. But it was a one footed tackle against an opponent's own raised foot for a 50/50 ball that he was clearly entitled to go for. He said Doucs' intent was clear. Yeah, to win the ball. Berk.

Mariappa is willing but has never been good enough at this level, Cathcart is limited, and Kabasele has a self destruct button 1 game in 3

Oh, and every time we play them I remember just how much I hate Bournmouth, disgusting team led by a disgusting manager, hope they all catch AIDS

Well, that was entertaining. We did quite well to hold on in the end.

    Foster - Absolutely sensational

Holebas - Solid enough performance although offered nothing going forward

Cathcart - Struggles at set pieces but I thought he actually put in a good performance. Broke up countless attacks and had a few last ditch tackles/interceptions. Stick a decent defender beside him and our defence will massively improve

Mariappa - Feel sorry for him, just clearly not the required standard for PL football. Had a few good moments and cant fault his effort/attitude but not good enough.

    Kiko - Tidy enough performance

Capoue - Worst I've seen him play this season, Brooks ran the show today and none of our midfielders could handle him.

Doucoure - Started quite well but his game effectively finished with that yellow card.

Sema - The only player who liked like creating anything. Played very well although didn't offer much defensively. Took his goal brilliantly too.

Deulofeu - Pretty anonymous but did look like making something happen when he got the ball. The system does not suit him.

Pereyra - Absolutely dreadful, can't remember one thing of note he did except stopping their counter attack from our corner.

Deeney - Excellent performance from him, took his goals well and bullied their defence. I fully expect him to be crap now for the next few games which is the problem with Troy these days.

    SUBS:

    Hughes - Added nothing
Cleverley - Grew into the game well, would hope to see him starting at the weekend
Success- No time to do anything

    He certainly did.

A good point in the end.

It did feel like the ref was making up possibly being told he should have shown a red though. Could have been my golden tinted glasses though.

He was though, but he gets a pass because he scored 2 goals, which means that he's done his job.

Deolofeu, Pereyra, Capou, Doucoure, Cathcart, Holebas, Femenia and Mariappa all appalling. Hughes got worse as the game went on, after he came on.

Despite going 2 up, I don't think we'll play a worse half than that second 45 and not concede goals.

Referee was way out of his depth, all over the park. So inconsistent with fouls and bookings. The penalty appeal, I think he probably got right, but then I have little doubt that it would have been given against us. Several of our bookings were soft and several fouls of equal or worse billing not bookings for them. Several obvious fouls not given for us around their box.

We escape with a point. Despite taking a lead, by the end, I think that's a very decent point for such a terrible performance.

We go away, regroup and come again.

If Gino doesn't sign at least one centre back in this window I hope he gets herpes.

To be fair it was a red 95% of the time, why we constantly left the boot in against that lot of cheating pricks is beyond me and we're a touch fortunate that the ref is one who has never given a red card or a pen in the Premier League.

I would absolutely hate to watch Bournemouth every week and they are an absolute embarrassment.

I imagine the only football fans who still buy into their plucky story bulls*** have never seen them play. Give me Stoke over them any day

Cathcart was still decent today. We desperately lack another centre back who can win headers though.

What a bonkers game overall - our typically best players in Capoue, Doucoure and Pereyra were poor, while our usually poor players in Sema and Deeney were good.

The Doucoure challenge wasn't a red for me - his leg was up but his studs weren't really showing; Fraser made a similar movement towards the ball as well but just got there a tiny bit earlier. Gosling's tackle in the second half was worse as well! We could have had a penalty at the end, but it also probably would have been harsh to give as it was so close to Ake.

We should be content enough to come away from all that just not having lost to those diving twonks and without any new injuries or suspensions.

All those starters out there today look in need of a rest and should be left out vs Woking, so that we can be ready to really go again in the next league game.

Cathcart is usually good enough, however knowing they were up against pacey wingers, whos aim if they don't manage to score is to go down is never easy! Plus knowing Mapps isn't the quickest is really enough to give anyone an uncomfortable night!

Foster a hero once again. If anyone was winning that 2nd half it was them.

Horrible club from top to bottom. Relieved not to suffer another defeat. Hopefully give them a good pasting next year.

New centre-back before the Palace game please Gino!

Agree with most of that apart from I thought Cleverley played pretty well when he came on so looked at the stats - he played 18 passes and only failed to complete three of them so he was ok in that regard.

  20. Personally I thought Cleverly did quite well, was the right change although it could have been made at HT, Doucs was on a knife edge

I thought Deolofeu was incredible last season. this year he's turned into a hybrid of Ambrabat and Fessi (without the goals or entertainment of the latter). Why o why didn't he play Pererya in when just the 2 of them up top against one retreating defender.

Somebody give. me a good hard slap.

Right, first off most would of taken a point tonight. We got that, but my oh my it could of been so much better or a million times worse. We started so well, Deeney looked pumped and was scoring for fun. Then we decided to finally show Gracia and Gino just how CRAP our mis managed defensive line up is. Their 1st goal was a total joke and league 2 defending at best.

I hate muff and don’t care they had a shambles of a back line tonight as well. We should of won that. We cannot and I mean CANNOT go any further than where we are without investment in the two key areas we need addressing.

Surely after tonight Gino must see that? He’s not an idiot he’s a shrewd businessman and surely knows what needs addressing. To go 2-0 up away, get pegged back due to awful defence woes Sema blasts one in and then we concede what not a minute later?
    I’m furious.

I am sure everybody neutral loved that first half but I hated it. It show cases the very best and worst of our play tonight. We need investment and nothing is going to change unless it happens. We deserved the point and so did muff, so a fair result after a much better SH not conceding a fourth.

It’s a decent point away at a tough ground and it’s a game where again we showed just how suspect we are. I love Mapps, he’s a stalwart defender but he’s not Premiership quality. He was at fault a lot tonight but collectively nobody else gave him much cover.

t least we didn’t lose though. It’s gounf to be interesting who starts at Woking next Sunday.

Well done to the travelling horns tonight, an entertainment value for sure, but I expect dissatisfied with just one point after a positive opening.

I think we chalk that up to a WTF day

At 2:0 they looked crap and I couldn’t see us loosing, but we let in two ridiculous free kicks (yet again) and let them back in it. Seemed to start with the Doucoure tackle and then we seemed to go on insane kicking spree how nobody was sent off (they were almost as bad) is a miracle.

On the bright side we use to loose games like this so a draw is a kind of result

MOM Foster (but thought both Deeney and Sema did well) , he must be ****ed off with his defence

Liability of the Match Doucoure closely followed by Coupoe both seemed to want to be sent off and nice to see holebas get a sneaky yellow for dissent (never one to not join in)

Biggest disappointment Pereya - just wasn’t sharp today

Was it a pen, it definatley hit his arm, think the ref was a bit of a jibber

After the Doucoure challenge, that Fraser made the most of, the Muff players then went to ground so easily it changed the game as Capoue and other WATFORD midfielders were scared to make challenges for fear of their challenges being exaggerated and then carded.

This is clearly a tactic employed by Howe and his odious team and I am glad we got away with a point and no sendings off. Glad we only play them twice a season.
